Pretty sure that's Robinson's take on it as well. He said after the semi he needed players to be going in who are match sharp and that a even a couple of weeks off can make a huge difference. It's gamble either way, but I'd keeping players match sharp is a risk worth taking. As an aside, he also mentioned the 2011 final at the weekend there - said part of the problem was that we went into that on a bad run of results with our heads down. Absolutely spot on. I still think McCall deserves a heroes welcome any time he comes to Fir Park however Robinsons approach to cup competitions shows a far clearer understanding of what makes our club and it's fans tick.

One of the better performances of the season and an entertaining game overall. I was most impressed with our fight and desire when Dundee were trying to get back into it midway through the second half. We looked exceptionally well organised with the high press. I'm hoping that was something that's been worked on for the final. Edit: Should also add, think James Scott deserves a mention. 17 years old and making his debut. Struggled with winning balls in the air but thought he looked very comfortable and strong with the ball at his feet.

Ha. Interesting to see how Robinson deals with that.

We've matched Celtic in 3 out of 4 games this season. Robinson knows how to set up against them. The players know what they need to do. We just need to impose our game on them, not the other way round, and we've got a fighting chance.

I agree, Main is a different prospect all together for them to handle and he could give them nightmares if we dictate our style of play on them. However, over the season they've conceded fewer league goals than any team in Scotland and it's one of the best records in the UK. We've scored twice against them in 4 games. One the goals was an OG. We need to find a way to goal, and that's proved difficult so far.

Ciftci came with a similar reputation and he seems to have settled into the dressing room. Aside from this incident, has Miller got previous? Either way, he still seems like a decent striker - 14 goals last year. I'm not sure he's got the energy up top to fit into our game though.

Defensively they are both like for like - I.e. absolutely solid and have barely put a foot wrong between them all season. Hartley does have a goal in him though...

Yep. Sadly, from what I've seen I don't think we're the club to re-ignite his career. The guy is clearly skilful, but his decision making after skinning a few folk is terrible. Not sure if he's just too eager to impress and I'm sure Robinson and Lasley have been trying to coach him through this but there's only so many chances a player can get.

Jeez. Why do I think that time stands still for young players that leave us? I still have it in my head that Darren Smith is still about 22 and still dreaming of the big time.

We took 16'000 in 2011 and noises from the club was that we could've taken many, many more. I could see us hitting that number again. I've already had a few folk who live down south and weren't fussed about the league cup asking about tickets. The Scottish Cup is definitely held in higher regard (rightly so). There's definitely an affinity between the fans and this current squad which so if the club keep the buzz going on and off the pitch I could see us taking 16'000 again.

I'd love for Grimshaw to come onto a good game. From what I've seen his attitude is without question - like Campbell, he seems like a young guy who loves his football and is desperate to do well.

Absolutely outstanding today. This squad have given us more than a memorable season - absolute credit to them all. Just wondering who folk would prefer tomorrow? The gap between Rangers and Celtic has narrowed since we last met them both in the cup however we've run them both close recently. Beating Rangers would be a great laugh and probably the more realistic scenario but Beating Celtic would be that bit sweeter after they cheated their way to the League Cup. I'm actually wondering whether I care either way.

Given he's retiring this season it and regarded as our top referee it wouldn't surprise me if the plan was to give him the final as a farewell present. Not sure if that plan will change if we get through. Unlikely.
