  1. Eh? We needed a major overhaul -he done just that. Every transfer is a gamble and the best managers in the world only get a percentage right. Look at the squad before and after this summers transfer window. You can't possibly argue that the squad isn't stronger.
  2. We've only played 4 home games in those 92 days. Lost 2 (hibs and accies) and drawn 2 (celtic and dundee). Of that, Accies is probably the only kick in the nuts. Again - it's how you choose to spin it. I don't think current results or performances are fine, however again I think it's a stretch to say 3 managers have been fired for less. Jim McIntyre was harsh in my opinion but the other two? Cathro was given 2 transfers windows, 10 months and was knocked out the cup to Peterhead and Dunfermline. Win ratio 26%. McCulloch - failed to win opening 8 despite having full strength squad - win ratio 25%. I just think Robinson has done enough this season to buy himself a bit more time than you are giving him.
  3. If ref's applied the rules word for word then you are right. But they don't. Hartley could have controlled his body shape better so right or wrong, ref's these days will view flailing your arm out therefore making yourself bigger as within the realms of "deliberate".
  4. Robinson said pre-match he had a tight hamstring or something.
  5. I'm sure some will disagree with me here, but I think the ref called both right. The Accies boy was turning away with his hands pulled in towards his chest. Hartley's arm was flailing out at his side and made him a bigger obstacle to beat.
  6. The team in 10th have 5 points more than us over 10 games. Not a massive gap. When you posted that we'd played Hibs, Celtic and Dundee at Fir Park since September with draws vs Celtic and Dundee and a 1-0 defeat to Hibs. Nice way to add spin to the facts though. 6 away defeats - I'll give you that. Pish. But with the exception of the 2 OF games, they've been by one goal with the spine of our team out for almost every game. 1 clean sheet in 11 isn't great but keeping a clean sheet isn't as as easy as it sounds: Rangers have only 4 in 11. Hibs have only 3 in 11. Killie 2 in 11. Here's the facts I'll focus on: Our bad run started on the 2nd of December in a 5-1 defeat to Celtic. That was 29 days ago and of the 7 games, I'd say there were 3 real disappointments - defeats to Accies, Killie and Partick. In that time we've been without 4 or 5 of our first picks. We started the season August 6th and in the 115 days up to our 1-1 draw with Celtic on the 29th November we had 2 disappointing results - 4-1 vs St Johnstone and 3-2 vs Ross County. In that time we beat Rangers, Hearts, Aberdeen twice, drew with Celtic and Hibs. It really wasn't that long ago.

  8. Folk often accuse the club of being short sighted for a whole variety of reasons and yet the responses in this thread are the very epitome of short sighted. What kind of club do we want to be? A club where managers are given the chance to build something meaningful over a number of windows and are supported through tough patches, or are we the type of club who pull the trigger at the first downturn in results? If we're expecting a high calibre of manager to come in then a history of loyalty through the bad times can't be underestimated. Chucking the guy any time soon would completely destroy our credibility as a club to work at.
  9. Can you run the same stat for our opening 10 games or would that scupper your agenda?
  10. My thoughts exactly. Not sure if any truth in this, but I've heard through the grapevine that our physio told Robinson that Cads, Frear and Hartley weren't ready. If so, that's a huge gamble to take on 3 key players.
  11. Something slightly odd about a statement where the person leaving is highlighting their own achievements. Hmmmm.

    Agm 2017

Assuming the bois move is due to the close proximity to away fans? Might be mistaken but I'm not aware of any genuine problems between sets of fans there and would hate to see fans moved to reduce what is probably no more than over-exuberant goading. That's a welcome part of the game. If there's a bigger problem there thats costing the club money to steward then fair enough.
  13. Ach, I dunno. Higdon, Porter and umpteen others have come and gone and will rightly always be remembered as excellent players for us. Moult however managed to make a connection with the fans and the club as a whole in a way not players many do. When a guy comes along from obscurity who quite simply just loves the game, wears his heart on his sleeve on and off the pitch, has given us the number of goals he has along with the odd bit of utter magic; and does all this while coming across as utterly grounded and in love with our club then I think he can go in a slightly different category than most players who have done well and moved on.
  14. Nah. There's a huge difference between squad rotation and losing the spine of your team overnight.
  15. Unlikely a replacement for Griffiths (we'll soon see) We didn't have a sub keeper at Partick. Might be back-up to Griffiths while Carson is out.
  16. Easy - Last minute equaliser vs Accies Semi final
  17. Only seen it once on thistle tv - looked great from that angle. Calamity if reports are true. Three avoidable goals.
  18. Aye. 2 defensive errors and a screamer of a free kick. Thistle look good. Frear looks keen. Everyone else. Bad. Really bad.
  19. Couldn't make the game. How do I get this PPV working? Registration site doesn't seem to be working.
  20. Not sure what your point actually is there. What are your expectations this season? Nothing wrong with ambition and big dreams, but that's hardly a balanced view of the situation. I'd say we've had 3 disappointing results - 4-1 St Johnstone, 3-2 County and 1-0 Hearts. We've been to a Cup Final, gone toe to toe with Celtic twice, beaten Aberdeen twice and Rangers once and have consistently taken points off the teams around us in a damn tight league. That's all off the back off one of the biggest squad turnovers in the clubs recent history. What more are you realistically expecting after 23 competitive games? I'd say it's not too bad considering the majority of the squad is, according to you; mediocre, inconsistent, out of form or just plain poor. Honestly, if you've considered where we were in the summer and considered where we are now and still aren't satisfied then maybe Motherwell isn't the team for you. I don't mean to be disparaging but really, what are your expectations at this stage?
  21. Not sure it was that mental. When he first joined he played 5, won 5, conceded 2. On paper, he looked like the answer at the time.
