  1. Hard to tell as the timing of Mcmanus and Tait getting injured is round about when Robinson took over. A quick glance at results and it looks like our goals conceded per game has probably improved with Robinson in and Tait and Mcmanus out. I'm sure folk will read into that in different ways but I think it's pretty clear that despite some daft mistakes over the weeks, Robinson has managed to get us more organised than we were. I can only agree with Jacol that we would be in a much better league position if Tait and Mcmanus were part of that.
  2. I sit in the cooper and £18.33 per game is fine regardless of what league we are in. The under 15 ticket is brilliant - fair play to the club for that. These are the guys who stick behind the team long after everyone else has either left, started the abuse or are sitting in silence. We need an increase in that demographic, particularly if we do end up in the Championship.
  3. Just watched the highlights - thought Alfie Agyeman looked a handful. I just read he's only 15? Have we had anyone else that age play in the 20s? Also - when was the last time Fadles played for the 20's and anyone know why he was included today? I hate to make comment likes this but it did look like he's 'physically not quite in shape' so I'm assuming it wasn't to get match sharp for a surprise inclusion on Saturday.
  4. I'm a big fan of Thomas and can't wait to see what he's like coming back from Queen of the South, however at this stage Frear is by far the more effective and accomplished player. Two completely different types of players as well.
  5. No problem with any style of football as long as it's effective. I go to Fir Park to hopefully see goals, if it was for silky fitba I'd stay at home with a skysports subscription. I'm going to hope the reason we persevere with it is because Robinson thinks it's all the players are capable of. If we have the players to play better football but are restricted by limitations in Robinson then that's a far bigger problem. To be fair, Moult, Bowman and McDonald have at some time or other shown they can bully bigger defenders so against the right opposition it could be very effective. Our biggest problem is that we persevere for 90 minutes when it's clear after 10 that the defender has the upper hand.
  6. McCann in his post-match interview said he knew we would be punting high balls in and that they specifically prepared for us playing this way. It's the exact same tactic which drove us all absolutely mental in the Accies game almost 4 weeks ago. Worrying on many levels if that's the only way Robinson thinks we can play.
  7. I heard a rumour that Samson thinks 'well fans are a shower of absolute arseholes and that he's going to do his best to sabotage our relegation fight as a parting "get it fuckin up ye". Wouldn't blame him. Okay I made that up, but regardless of what happens I'm sure in years to come most will look back and recall the sarcastic cheering in the middle of a crucial game as one of the most cringeworthy and unhelpful things they have witnessed at Fir Park.
  8. Can you please do a visual based on the angle of the sun and it's distance from earth within the context of the height of Fon Williams (taking account of his bent knees - you might need to go up and measure the length of his shins) multiplied by the angle between the shadow of the ball and the goal line (angle easily calculated using the shadow of the goalpost). That'll prove it's in.
  9. If Pearson is going to play like that until the end of the season then I'd have Lasley back in ahead of the 3 of them. Where is Lucas these days? No knowledge of his injury - seems to be in the wilderness.
  10. Last home win 19/11/17 vs Partick. Almost 5 months ago. Since then P8 W0 D2 L6 F6 A17 Crikey.
  11. Love the optimism but we are only 4 points above them. If they are utter pish then we must be quite pish.
  12. I'd think sitting 2nd bottom is the perfect time and a fitba forum is the perfect place for a right good moan. As long as it's not brought to the stands on Saturday.
  13. if that's your view then fair enough. Just don't make things harder for them by acting like a sack 20 minutes into the game. (That's a general point - not directed at you).
  14. It's also worth bearing in mind rangers had to play 5 games in 14 days to get promoted. If we face the 2nd placed side we could be in trouble.
  15. I'd rather we pumped the gate prices to £40 (for kids and adults) and decided season tickets weren't valid. Don't know if I'm peddling one of the many MFC myths here, but it certainly feels like we arse it every time we get a decent crowd.
  16. Fletcher - nah, not for me. On a par with what I've seen of Blyth. Laing - I'm convinced letting him go was just another symptom of McGhee's descent into madness. Not because he was a world beater, but because it left us with zero cover for our centre backs should one of them get a long term injury. Laing and Heneghan as a centre back pairing with McHugh in midfield would be fine. Instead, we've got the one midfielder I'm sure McGhee signed to build his team around constrained to sitting at the back with a disjointed and inconsistent midfield in front of him. Madness.
  17. Bearing in mind Shea Gordon is 18 and was making his first senior start, I thought he looked lively and strong. Just a shame the seniors around him were all having howlers. I'd have given him it for those reasons alone, however I thought McDonald was our real standout. Too often the only one who looked like he a semblance of composure and creativity. It's a shame he was the one constantly being dragged out wide when he's the guy you want in the 6 yard box.
  18. I've seen this kind of statement posted quite a bit any time we are threatened by relegation - I honestly have no idea what it means. Do folk perceive relegation as the football equivalent of a colonic irrigation? I'm fairly certain it won't be anywhere near as enjoyable.
  19. I've deluded myself all season that we are better than our league positions suggests, and that we would click eventually. I think that thought finally died today. We have zero creativity and cutting edge going forward, constantly resort to crosses when have no aerial threat = 4 goals in 6 games. I think we are generally organised at the back but prone to moments of switching off 2 / 3 / 4 times a game which tends to result in a goal or two = Goal difference -25. The midfield, for all our options, is devoid of any real spark. For the first time in many years following Motherwell I'm fully preparing for Championship football next season.

I'm only interested in the absolute basics and I barely even understand them.
  21. Hmmm. Watching it again you are probably right. 'He didn't do what we asked him to' because of poor service to him, as opposed to any fault of his own.
  22. If true, there needs to be an expectation of professionalism between the two. Robinson, as the manager, needs to get over that in the interest of the club. Ainsworth, like all the players, are resources which need managed. If a public dig is a strategy to get more out of a player, then fair enough. If it's to do with their personal relationship then Ainsworth might as well not bother appearing in claret and amber again.
  23. Just saw the interview. That's a really weird one and without the full context, seems really harsh and a bit disappointing from Robinson to single out the guy who came on with 20 minutes to play. Multiple players didn't appear to do what was asked of them, unless he is implying that they couldn't carry out the game plan because Ainsworth wasn't getting in the right positions. Either way, it doesn't negate from the fact the other 12 players who contributed to the game had also failed to get us the goal we were looking for. I can only think there is something in the dynamic between Ainsworth and Robinson and that this is some tactic to either get him out the door, or get more out of him. Can't say singling him out has worked in the past.
