  1. Aye, that's the one I meant. We aren't relying on anyone to do us a favour. Win our next 2 games and we've secured 2nd.
  2. That was fucking excellent. Don't care about the performance. 3 points is all that matters. To be able to say '2nd place is ours to lose now' at this stage of the season is fantastic.

I imagine the biggest chunk of that 30% was secured in the first 6 months or so and the rest has trickled in. I'm ever the optimist, especially when it comes to MFC, but at that rate I simply can't see how we will ever reach the target.

Not so sure about that. If it turns out to be a one off decider for second then that's a pretty massive, probably only bettered by a semi final or final. We could potentially find out as early as Tuesday if it's going to be a decider game and if it is, I can absolutely guarantee the ticket office before the ICT game will be mobbed.

I know there's still 2 games to be played which might have a huge bearing on how many are going to make the journey, but I thought I'd ask what potential plans are given that it's only a week away and the KO time is SHITE for folk who actually want to follow their football team. Earliest train arrives from Glasgow at 11:47 which is absolutely useless. Busses look like a better option. I've got the added complication of being in Warwickshire on the Saturday night for a family do but if it's going to be a battle for 2nd then I'll be there by plane, train or time travel.
  6. You mention context but isn't that the one thing you are ignoring MJC? Aye, it'll be disappointing to miss out on 2nd after being in such a good position but if we finish 3rd (and beat last seasons points tally) then that's an incredible achievement when you consider how many players we've lost. That's all part of the context, which you seem to have completely ignored. Aye, the cup exits have taken a shine off the season but with a 3rd place finish you can't say that the damage hasn't gone a long way to being repaired.
  7. Might as well move on from yesterday as swiftly as possible and look to the next match, so thoughts and predictions folks? We put 4 past them without reply when they last visited at New year but they've since scudded us 3-0 and are unbeaten in 6, taking 14 out of 18 points. With that in mind, and given how good we were against Celtic and how shite we were against United... I have no fucking clue which way this might go. Only thing that matters to me is that come 4:45, we could be sitting 1 point off 2nd spot. That's enough to put yesterday aside and get right up for this one!

On the basis of who did the least wrong it was between Reid and Gunnar. Went for Reid who put in some decent tackles.
  9. Yip. And remember what happened last time we were chasing 2nd and Celtic visited Fir Park having already won the league?
  10. Season tickets have been excellent value for a long time and the success on the pitch has added greatly to that so I don't have a problem with the increase. On a side note, does the 36% increase in ST numbers include the free wellevate tickets?
  11. By the looks of it, he's more concerned with playing football and getting European fitba onto his CV with the view to making a bigger move so it would be a massive U-turn if he went to Hibs or Sevco. We're the perfect club to offer him what he wants - if we qualify for Europe of course. All very positive anyway. A fully fit Ainsworth and Anier would be an absolute nightmare to play against.
  12. I was absolutely gutted on Monday after Aberdeen beat Hibs so I'd extend that sentiment to many other games beside our own last 5. Personally, I think it's fantastic and exactly why I put time and money into football. We've been in the driving seat going into the last two seasons' splits which is great but given the changes in our squad and how impressive Aberdeen and Dundee United can be the challenge couldn't be tougher this time round. Hopefully it will equate to some decent attendances home and away.
  13. Exactly the same for every other team. Aberdeen have only taken 6 points out of a possible 12 in the last 4 games. There will be more twists and turns before the jaunt to Pittodrie, and we may see ourselves still in the running for 2nd at that point.
  14. The negatives towards Marshall are a bit over the top. 1. The two and a half years coaching he gave Randolph certainly didn't do his career any harm. 2. He's also only brought two keepers to the club, one as a backup Hollis (who is a capable 1st choice in my opinion) and one emergency loan who proved to be fantastic. Hard to judge his eye for a player when we've only got that to go on. 3. Stevie Woods is the coach at Celtic. A poor player doesn't make a poor coach.

I've just added the other ones from Facebook but can't see an ICT home one. Where did you see it?

They could probably shift a fair few of these in the shop if it was an important win i.e, the game that sealed 2nd.

    Matchday Artwork

The coverage from MFC on social media has always been great, but the recent matchday artwork is absolutely amazing and worthy of a special mention. Who makes this stuff??

    Top Six Split

Not bad. 12:45 for the Aberdeen game is a bit of a pain in the arse but if it's a decider for 2nd, we'll still take a huge crowd. Which team has lost out on the home game?
  19. Amazing result. 3 of the 4 involved in the goals haven't played much football at all recently so full credit to them and credit to Mccall for the team selection.
  20. Nielsen, Reid, Hammell, Hutchinson, McManus, Sutton, Vigurs, Lasley, Kerr, Anier, Leitch Subs: Stewart, Francis-Angol, Moore, Murray, Ainsworth, Thomas, Cadden Apparently.
  21. Congratulations on perfectly summarising how out of touch you and a few others are about our club. For a start, your reference to 'dross' reeks of the smugness and sense of entitlement we only really get from old firm fans and the irony of that, which seems to be lost on you lot, is that you only have this attitude because of the success Mccall has delivered. As for the suggestion that Lennon should be ahead of Mccall... whit?? The fact is, the gulf in budget between Celtic and Motherwell and the gulf in budget between Motherwell and Albion Rovers is probably a similar ratio. Of course, that doesn't matter because then it's not a stick you can use to beat Mccall with. Unless of course you actually meant Danny Lennon, which wouldn't surprise me given the amount of absolute bollocks you post. Most worryingly of all, you aren't even the worst.

    Top Six Split

To be fair, it's 30 individual games to be scheduled over a 6 - 8 week period. While it might only take an hour to work it out on paper, actually arranging 'major events' with all the relevant bodies simply takes a bit of time.
  23. Did you honestly look at our starting line up at 3pm and think we weren't capable of beating Kilmarnock? Hindsight might be clouding your judgement here. Sometimes, players cross the line and just don't perform. You can't always blame the manager.
  24. What has today's second half got to do with it?
