8 games in. 3rd in the league and just 3 points off the top. Unbeaten in the last 5. All this and there is still a feeling that we haven't quite clicked into top gear yet. Even if we had kept last years team, I'm sure we would all be happy with how this season is going so considering the massive changes in the first team it is both a remarkable and fantastic start for Stuart McCall and the players. Delighted!

You've understandably missed my vague and unclear point. I always take opinions about a player's character, particularly on internet forums, with a lot of skepticism. I'm wondering if burn_broomfield heard Watt's chronic patter first hand.

Yip, ZFA has been bright and forward thinking every time I've seen his pre-season and in the Kuban game. Very surprised he was dropped in the first place.

Quality finish from Anier. Plenty of time to think about it, which is often a bad thing but cleverly taken in the end. Not the best performance, but I'll take that scoreline any day!

It's not been a problem in previous games so I'm guessing in the first half he was following Mccall's instructions not to leave Hammell exposed. Once we were chasing the game he was giving more freedom and it clearly made a difference to how he was playing.

I wonder if any club has ever pulled out of a European tie because they can't afford to travel. As the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, I anticipate it's only a matter of time before that happens.

A perfectly reasonable stance form the club. It's a shame that a few idiots have ruined it for the majority. Hopefully the club will be open to giving it another shot in the future though.

Is that Zaine providing the final ball? He looked lively against Newcastle. Could be a big player for us this season.

I'll distance myself from the 'we' there. I, like many other 'well fans, are fully aware of how well the club have done over the last few years and enjoyed (almost) every minute of it.

Aye it would be great to have a strong squad for the start of the Euro campaign however Mccall's priority this summer will be building a squad that can do it over the season. He won't sign his 3rd or 4th choice left mid for the sake of Europe if there is a chance his 1st or 2nd choice will sign later.

Brilliant news! Wouldn't worry too much about the wages, I think folk are seriously underestimating the pulling power of playing under McCall these days. He's clearly proved himself as a good manager but that aside, his involvement in the Scotland setup is worth dropping a few thousand a week to players keen to break into the squad.

That's not what I'm suggesting. There was a financial price to that decision and it trickles down to every decision the club makes, including the price of a midweek friendly. It's just a bit odd that you seem surprised.
