  1. Yip. Anyone who has a gripe about paying the extra tenner needs reminding that over the last few years Motherwell have consistently offered some of the lowest (if not the lowest) season ticket prices in the league as well as regular offers/reduced prices for key games. Add that to the bonkers wellevate scheme and I think we're doing ok.
  2. With all the pish that's going on I'd just put it down to the club having about 3209 things to deal with at once. We don't have a huge backroom staff and the fact that it's only just gone up means someone is probably working past the usual finishing time to get the news out.
  3. I was in getting my Rapid Bucharest ticket today and was told the tickets went on sale this morning and the club were going to announce it this afternoon. Don't know why it's not gone up. For the record, aye it is 30 quid for an adult ticket and 15 for kids. I can only imagine this is the price of the Newco vote trickling through to the punters wallets.
  4. So it's a 2 point punishment plan really isn't it? Very honourable of you green.
  5. The thing that I'm finding so startling about and the umpteen other attempts to preserve Rangers has got to be how oblivious the governing bodies seemed to be to the feelings of their member clubs supporters. With the exception of a few clubs, I'd say we are down to almost the bare bones of a support in Scotland. People don't attend for the quality or the glitz and glamour. They attend Scottish football at one of it's lowest points because the clubs are well and truly imbedded in their hearts. Most fans are willing to take the hit, no matter how big it may be, and start from the bottom up if it means the possibility of a fairer future. Now I can only think of two reasons why they have been so far off the mark. 1) They have been simply oblivious to the nature of and attitudes to the game up here. In which case they are incompetent. In which case they shouldn't be running the game. 2) The knew exactly how fans would react however were happy to piss them off because they thought we'd be daft enough to keep putting money into the game. It wouldn't be the first time loyalty has been taken advantage of and if this is the case, they shouldn't be running the game. So which one is it?
  6. It would certainly change our game for the better. Despite their predictable objections Celtic would get the competition they apparently crave and the league would be far far far healthier. That said, I'm not too comfortable with the idea. At a time where we're banging on about the integrity of the sport it seems unfair that clubs should reap benefits that aren't a result of their own on field success. Still not sure on this one. Here's a link to the article by the way. Quite a compelling case.... http://www.scotsman.com/scotland-on-sunday/sport/richard-bath-most-successful-era-when-gate-receipts-were-split-equitably-1-2386654

    Sky Sports Petition

I get the sentiments of the petition but the patter sounds like it was written by a Rangers supporter. Sky won't be 'punishing' Scottish Football. Sky will pay a 'fair price', which will be based on what the quality of product they are buying, the demand for it and competition from other channels. Sky are a business and owe us nothing and have every right to tear up the contract which every club agreed to. Despite all this, considering the tiny amounts of money (comparatively speaking) involved in the renegotiation of the deal it wouldn't cost much for Sky to show themselves to be an ethically sound company who are willing to 'fund' the drive for fair sporting competitions. Could be a PR masterstroke if they showed a bit compassion under these circumstances.
  8. I find it interesting that 'when needs must' players are viewed somewhat as commodities, yet when the shoe is on the other foot there tends to be outrage among fans. Not that I disagree with what you are saying, it's interesting though.
  9. Scary figures indeed which serve to highlight how fucked the game is up here. Both votes are punts in the dark though however anything other than a no vote means the baw is well and truly burst. We can only hope that after the almost inevitable 'no' vote folk will be buoyed by a bit of positivity and optimism and contribute in some way to making up the short-fall. I'll be buying a season ticket for the first time in years. I can only urge others who are voting no to do the same.
  10. The worrying thing about that is that it is fairly eloquently put. Punctuation, grammar, spelling - it's all there (a very rare thing on RM). Yet despite coming across as more intelligent than 99% of the usual pish spouting arseholes they are still completely and utterly blind to the real sentiments behind the movement 'against' rangers. Fuck sake man. Honestly.
  11. Yip. Consistently lower prices is the only way to get fans back regularly. I imagine most people are like me, going to games is a habit. Get to a few games back to back and I'm gutted if I miss the next one. Miss a few for whatever reason and I'm not as bothered about going. That's why one off price drops don't do much for a long term increase in attendances. We need consistently low prices if we want people to get into that habit of going to games, and being bothered if they miss one.

    Points Tally...

Nahhh, no time for rational or logic tonight. Too busy celebrating.

    Points Tally...

Thought this deserved it's own thread. Last nights win meant we've reached our biggest top flight points tally since 1934. With 2 games to go it's our 3rd highest top flights points tally in the clubs history (1932/32 66 points, 1933/34 62 points). It's our highest post war top flight total. It's the most SPL points ever for the club. Whatever spin you put on it, it's no bad eh?!
  14. Completely disagree from everything you've said so far but those two points in particular. First one... I absolutely adore the guy for the fact that he still has the confidence/cockiness to keep trying to skin folk when it's not quite going right for him, he proved at the start that he has the ability to do it and the fact that his head doesn't go down when it's not going his way says a lot for him. For me that's something Murphy and Humphrey could learn from, I find if they can't beat their guy in the first 10 minutes then they tend to never try again for the rest of the game. As for the second point. There is every chance McCall ordered him not to track back as Ojamaa's presence further up the field keeps at least two of their defenders pinned back. Regardless, I felt he put himself about when needed. He simply didn't see enough of the ball in the time he was on to make any real judgement on the guy.
  15. Guard of honour, fuck right off. How about a minutes silence in the name of fair sporting competition and a free and inclusive society?
  16. Stupid albiet provoked, which I didn't notice at that time. Fuck knows what Whittaker was trying to do but it was dangerous and nowhere near the ball. Still, players have got to keep the heed in these situation, Clancy didn't and I would't be surprised to see him hauled up.

    The Well Society

Magic! I'll admit I wasny sure if we could do it but just proves the club have marketed it just right and got the fans backing, despite if being a fairly hefty amount of cash for people just now.
  18. Canny complain about yesterday. As Lee McCulloch said post-match, they didny have a clue what to do when they first went into administration but now they're back to simply playing football. We didn't play the 'Rangers in crisis' team yesterday, we played a full strength and fully motivated team. The fact is, we didn't take advantage of set pieces and Higdon and Ojamaa weren't quite on the same wavelength. Even at that, we'd have taken 3 points from any other team in the league (bar Celtic) yesterday. Thought we took a bold decision in the second half by leaving 3 high up the park when they were attacking so any accusation of McCall not going for the jugular is pish. Also, dangling a bigger carrot in front of the donkey won't make it run faster if it's already going full pelt. We've been playing out our skin since the start of the season and the chance of 2nd place or Champions League isn't going to improve the players ability one bit. We've got what we've got, and it's pretty damn good all things considered.
  19. Yip. Here he is talking about the MLS goal of the year. Gid strike.
  20. Every single result that could've went against us this weekend has gone against us and yet we're still 8 points in front of 4th and 3 off second. There is a reason for that. There is also a reason why we need only need 7 more points out of the next 7 games to break our highest ever top flight total. Keep the faith.
  21. Did they not already meet last week? I'd like to know who's the unnamed chairmen are. I like the cut of their jibbleys.

    Fir Park News

They were handing out at the end of the last game. I also spotted a pile in Upper Crust. I imagine they'll have them in the ticket office or club shop. Free by the way.

    Fir Park News

Anyone picked up a copy? Tis quite a good read. Funny how articles on advertising boards can seem interesting when the team is doing well. I imagine it'll play a part in getting the club back into the consciousness of the local community. Can only be a good thing when trying to strengthen the fan base.
