  1. Yep, another great performance. Good to see Higdon linking up so well with the midfield. As a few have said, another day and he would have been on the scoresheet. Granted a bit more pace would make things so much easier for him but the fact is he's getting into decent positions and his team mates are finding him. He'll score plenty this season.
  2. Exactly SD. It's detrimental to the team spirit, individual confidence and to the atmosphere, all of which will impact negatively on the team performance, which I'm paying 20 odd quid to see. I'll be expecting a refund in the post from some on here. PM me for my address, cheque will do.
  3. Outside the St Johnstone game I reckon we've done fuck all wrong this season. Can't really comment on last night as I wasn't there but from what I hear Hibs finally turned it on and when they've got a budget 4,5,6 times ours you'd be expecting them to win. Same with Celtic, they put in their best performance of the season against us. We simply don't have players on the bench to change tactics. Game time for youngsters is fine when we are cruising but it wouldn't take much knock their confidence and if we are already shakey and getting pumped then the unrealistic expectation of them turning it around and failing to do so might just be enough to set them back a bit.
  4. Won't make it tonight as I'm working however I've been to the last few and I would urge anyone not doing much tonight to head along. Well worth the entrance fee and a rare chance to hear shit from the horses mouth. I've found every panel member to be open and honest almost as if speaking 'off the record', pretty interesting stuff.
  5. The league is results based so I always took the manager of the month to be loosely based on results relative to resources. Although if that's the case then neither old firm manager should win it unless they are putting 6 or 7 past teams every week (which they should be doing anyway). So aye fuck knows, McCall's achievements so far significantly outweigh anyone else's in the league. He must get it.
  6. We took them pretty close in the Semi-Final in January and certainly didn't lack any belief then. How do you explain that one? Also how about a wee reminder that McCall has taken charge of 3 or 4 out of 30 odd games in which we've failed to beat them. What are the other managers excuses? To me, McCall comes across as a man who immerses himself in every club he goes to and has shown nothing but commitment at Motherwell and I think it's ridiculous and insulting to suggest his professionalism could be so easily influenced regardless of whether it's subconscious or not.
  7. Picked up tickets yesterday, woman said they were anticipating a big crowd. She said sales had been good and Rangers had sold out the south stand, just hope we can bring a few more than normal too. Was wondering what the hell you were on about but that actually made me chuckle.
  8. What a jump at the end, set things up amazingly for the game against Rangers. Thought it was a good game overall, even if we did seem to struggle creatively. Thought Murphy and Humphrey seemed to really lack confidence, don't think I saw either of them try to beat a man. The long ball to Higdon was also pretty inefective as he was fairly isolated all game. That's the negatives out the way so despite all this, we still made 4 or 5 really good openings and if it wasn't for a man of the match performance from Samson we could've won by a couple. Forbes was outstanding today which was great to say. Oh, and we're top o the league without concending a goal. Oh aye, and St Mirren played some pretty football but didn't have the finishing touches so fuck em.

    St Mirren

Aye, voted Forbes who was quality today. Almost scored a screamer too. Also got to mention Hutchinson who was absolutely solid at the back. As always. Possibly our most consistent players just now.
  10. Kinda reminds me of Clarkson getting sent off against Smelltic a few seasons ago. Did we appeal that one? Canny mind.
  11. Anyone know if there are student prices for the game?
  12. Been a while since I've actually looked forward to playing St Mirren away. Got a feeling we'll take a really good crowd to this one, and with St Mirren being able to string more than 2 passes together this season I expect they'll have a decent home support too. Could be a difficult game but reckon we'll sneak it.
  13. Missed the game yesterday due to work but just watched the highlights. They didn't make too much of the goal on the radio but credit to Law for seeing the pass and Murphy for keeping his composure and finding the space after the slightly dodgy first touch, especailly when he had FOUR hearts players closing him down. Brilliant! Also Randolph's saves are worth a mention, he won us an absolute shitload of points last season and looks like he'll do the same this season.

    Sky Sports News

Doesny surprise me one bit. Was gonna start another thread but might as well ask here.... whats the most games we've played into a season and been top of the league?
  15. Aye, another good show yesterday. Look's like things are slowly spreading up the east stand. If yous can infect a vertical row of seats a season with that mentality maybe we'll get songs in the cooper by season 2134/35. But actually, a bit of perseverance and more folk will join in. Just a shame yous aren't bang smack in the middle of the east stand or suhin.

Loads of great performances already mentioned but voted Hutchinson. Absolutely solid display. Oh aye, shouldn't Hammells goal go down as an OG as it wasn't actually going in?
  17. Can't get a better start to the season than that. Brilliant to have the 3 points but it was the performance that has pleased me the most. Also good to get 3 goals and put together some excellent attacking moves when our target striker wasn't exactly too involved in the game. That's not a criticism, once he's at full fitness and had more game time linking up with the rest we should be very dangerous going forward.
  18. That video contains just about every touch he ever had in a Motherwell shirt.
  19. Hands up who had to google the term "niggardly"?

Honestly can't see how folk can say the players looked tired or had given up. Thought most of the team looked properly fired up however we simply ran out of ideas going forward. I'd put this down to lack of match sharpness, which was McCall's decision. Not that I can blame him, we don't have the depth of squad to risk any sort of injury for a game like this. If he'd been playing the full strength squad for the remaining games at a time when it seemed like 6th was the best we'd do he'd be getting absoutely slated, particularly if someone like Murphy or Humphrey picked up an injury. It's a tough gig.
  22. Canny think of a more appropriate video than this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih-hhxM3RR8
  23. Proud to be a part of it. Absolutely spectacular. Well done to everyone who put all the hard work in.
  24. I'm trying to work out how to get from dennistoun to hampden draped in claret and amber without having to sort out numerous smellies with my 5ft8 of sheer skin and bone.
