I don't think you've given him nearly enough credit for that goal. Watch the highlights again and tell me it's not a perfectly timed run from the back post(ish) area. He does well to lose the defender and his momentum allows him to attack the ball with more aggression than the 3 falkirk players around him. Put all that together and it ends up looking like an easy header.

Jings, that explains a few things then. I think the potential seems to be there for him to become a decent player for us. He seems strong on the ball and to be fair to the guy, by the sounds of it his fitness was woeful when he arrived here. Hopefully all he needs is a bit more match sharpness.

I think perseverance is the key. We've put in fantastic performances against teams in Europe, Killie and Rangers using the same tactics. This style of play will come good, it just appears that quite a few players who were integral to making the system work aren't playing to their full potential.

That's good to hear. At least he's got two weeks to recover. O'Brien takes some amount of kicks and knocks these days. Obviously it's because of his style of play and quick feet. If I remember correctly, he's the 3rd most fouled player in the SPL.

Eat these facts.... Exactly what I was gonna say. Very unlucky not to score the winner against St Johnston with that volley off the bar as well and I'm sure he's hit the post since then (might be mistaken). I don't get how folk can't see it? He turns defenders inside out every single game only to find no one else has kept up with play or managed to get themselves into a supporting position.

O'Brien has already featured alongside Humphrey and Slane in the same team and it was a system that worked so you might be surprised at how the shape of the team will chance once they are both back. Spot on man. Slane was one of our best performers in our European game and pretty much ripped the pish out the Steau defence during the home game. Obviously we've not seen if he has any consitency or how well he performs on the (arguably) smaller games where the same adrenaline and excitement might not be there. Regardless, he has certainly caught plenty of folks attention and I for one can't wait to see what he can offer us in the SPL. As for Jim O, I don't think many people appreciate the work that he does for us. He has set up quite a few goals this season and won countless free kicks in dangerous areas. I think the players around him need to learn to make more moves off the ball as he has a habit of skinning a man then having no one to pass to. Once the players can read each other a bit more then he will absolutely integral to our team.

I'm still of the opinion that Lukas will come good although his 'fall from grace' in such a short space of time baffles me a bit. He's only played a handful of senior games and he's doesn't appear to be a prolific goalscorer so makes me think he must have so much more to offer the team as a whole to earn this £1m price tag. That said, Everton might have been paying for the potential rather than the finished article, however if there is a somone who can help folk reach then potential then it appears Gannon is just the man.

I've got a good feeling about this game. If the rest of the crowd is looking forward to it half as much as I am then it'll be a great atmosphere and hopefully the players will be fired up with the chance of going third (or dare I say, second?). Despite this, I think Gannon will have the players on strict orders to keep it cool and composed so we might not see the goalfest we're hoping for. 2-1 to 'well.
