12 attempts and 1 goal - I hope Jeffers rekindles his form from 30 years ago. All our shots seems to go over the bar.....

Without tempting fate.........when is the draw for the 1/4's
-
Back to the game.........sounds like we are not much better this half.....
-
Gola Gola Gola Always wanted to do that.............

Heard that also, whilst wondering if the BBC had someone at the game. McCall talked about the right mental approach. Looks like the team are not listening to him Arbroath scored 4 at Stair Park a week or so ago. I know this is a banana skin, but we must step up by the sound of things.........god forbid......

There are some on this board that felt Gannon was wrongly hounded out of Fir Park...... Pressure Grows On Gannon If rumours circulating in the Potteries are anything to go by, Vale boss Jim Gannon is under increasing pressure to save his job[/font] only 5 games into his managerial reign. The former Stockport County and Motherwell manager has endured a difficult start to life at Vale Park, where stories abound of dressing room unrest. Speculation has been rife that following tonight`s game with Rotherham United, Gannon could be relieved of his managerial duties. Following the appointment of two new members of his backroom staff yesterday (Andy Mulliner and Ben Cooper) the move seems unlikely on the face of things. It may surprise a few on here, but outside the City clubs Motherwell have the largest wage budget and a good 60-70% more than Hamilton and St Mirren. How else do you attract the likes of Randolph and get Humphrey to sign an extension. Whilst I would be disappointed in no further additions I would rather we don't panic and splash cash we could retain for the summer window.
-
A lot of truth in that. Maybe someone from the club could come on here and confirm nothing is happening or likely to happen so that the 100+ posters can go to their beds.........

4 players out - 2 in at the moment. Jones as a replacement for Gow/Fitzpatrick. I would say possibly to our benefit. Reynolds out - Defender on loan from Blackburn. Unsure until we see him play but I doubt it is a huge improvement if any. Blackman out - no one in (at the moment). Bit of a disaster. Whilst I doubt we would replace Blackman like for like - no-one in is worrying. I don't expect much if anything to happen now. Still after Sunday, bit more confident we will avoid a relegation scrap..

2 players were coming up today for talks - FACT. I would assume that would have been earlier and not 8pm tonight, so a bit concerning we have not heard any snippet of news. I get the impression we have been after quite a few that have all fallen through for one reason or another. We need a striker or we may struggle to score consistently between now and the end of the season. The EPL is crazy - £50m for Torres and £36m for Carroll. I seem to remember we tried to get him on loan a season or two ago.

I totally agree with the post above. There seems to be a group of people that are intent on telling all and sundry they are p1ssed off and apathetic towards Motherwell. So what! I like most would rather come on this message board and read about people that were up for the game tomorrow and Motherwell FC in general. Not being happy clappy....just rather not go through life a miserable sod, always looking at the negative side of things.

Reasonable crowd at Hampden. Did I read somewhere the income from the 2 semi finals is pooled and divided by the 4 teams. If so I would imagine that Motherwell will be a big beneficiary if we only sell around 4500-5000 tickets.
-
I guess if we can keep it down to less than 3-0 after 35 mins we will be doing better that the Dons. As long as we give a good account of ourselves and are in with a shout late into the game I will be fairly happy. Anyway - without tempting fate 2 moro - I do hope Aberdeen get pumped rotten.... Make that 4.......
-
Dare I ask how many tickets we have sold Still as most have said it is a Cup semi. Not many of those to the £.... Miss a league game - no problem......38 of them in a season. Miss a cup semi-final @ Hampden - No way Jose....

The Lip69 is entitled to his opinion as is everyone else. It is just like most on here I do not agree with it. In time he may be proved right but to call McCall a clown or sh1t is a tad harsh at this early juncture. I can only assume he bullied you at school or something to come away with such vitriol. Who knows whether he was 1st choice or 3rd choice - bottom line is he is our Manager and quite frankly Sbragia and MacDonald hardly filled me with joy and enthusiasm if they did indeed turn down the job. At least McCall took the job onboard knowing evreything that the two aforementioned candidates knew. If you are in work Lip69 I wonder if everyone was calling you sh1te after a month or so - maybe they were....

The stats show we had 63% possession.... In fact they only had 2 shots on target - 1 being the penalty, so they did not sound that much better than us. But for a controversial penalty probably would have been 0-0. Craigan supposedly had his back to the play when he jumped, so naturally never saw the ball. How can that be construed as deliberate handball I see he was booked for protesting...obviously thought the same. Do you think we will get one in our favour on Sunday like that......nah me neither.
-
Match report on BBC states Motherwell had no creativity and LESS desire to win the game. That is troubling especially against St Johnstone. 1 shot on target in 90 minutes is very poor. I think I am going to have to look through my fingers for the entire 90 mins on Sunday. At this rate it could be an uncomfortable afternoon. I still blame that old cnut Brown.
-
Spoke to an Aberdeen fan today. He said they have sold 10,000 tickets already for their game v Celtic and may end up having the same amount of fans as Celtic. Good going. I know we have been doubly shafted - in that it is on a Sunday and live on BBC. I hope we can manage to shift at least 4-5000 tickets to get a bit of an atmosphere going....
-
I made the mistake of telling him he would play in the EPL one day in the Centenary. He then spent most of the season injured. So I will keep my mouth shut. Craigan on BBC Alba said he was the HARDEST player in the current squad - "He would head through a brick wall and enjoy it". Certainly he will win more aerial challenges than Reynolds ever would. Reynolds was a VERY decent player for Motherwell, but I am just glad we have a ready made replacement who has the potential to be a big player for us. Let us hope he stays injury free....
-
Absolutely spot on 100%. Some of the posts on here are cringeworthy. Fkin pathetic I tell you what - next time we don't sign a player through a technicality or a Manager does not sign a contract, why don't we fire all club employees! In fact I would go as far as shutting down the club - it is a damn disgrace.
-
Even though it is a shitty little article - there cannot be many times we feature on the Washington Post website: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...1012003688.html Have we ever had a yank play for us before? Collet sounds like a good prospect - so hopefully we can add him to the squad also.

I was out for a few drinks with a fellow Well fan in London tonight. We had a wee chat about all things Motherwell and agreed that there were one or few issues surrounding the club, but by and large things could be a lot worse. One thing we did agree on was the amount of negative pish spouted on this board. You could not make it up..........if we appointed Jose Mourinho and signed Lionel Messi, there would be negative comments. Enough negative sh1te. Top 6 - in 2 cup competitions. We are Motherwell - get behind the team ffs.
-
A very well put post Jay. I don't pretend to be better than any other Motherwell fan and if my comments come across that way - that was not my intention. Not that you were stating for a fact that was the case. Of course I understand the anger and the viewpoint of all those who are vehemently opposed to this proposed top 10 set up. I just do not know where Motherwell as a club are going to turn too in order to protect their future and those who continue to support the club. Sadly with attendances as they are, if there is a viable alternative that will protect and perhaps even increase TV revenue, then I understand why the club may go for this option moving forward. In turn they may even be able to reduce ticket costs in order to attract some fans back. Either way it does depress me to see fans such as yourself threatening to walk away. We have very few die hard fans as it is, so to lose a handful or more will be a damn shame.
-
How do Motherwell lose all credibility? It is the responsibility of John Boyle, Derek Weir and Leanne Dempster to ensure their is a Motherwell FC around to support in years to come. No-one on here knows the intricate details behind this proposal (and yes that includes me), but if suddenly there is a broad agreement by the majority of SPL clubs, there must be a fairly strong and reasoned case to back these proposals, ESPECIALLY as they know how many fans are agin the 10 team SPL. Despite what many fans state no club is out to alienate their fan base. I believe Doncaster has met with a number of fan groups and the upshot of these meetings is that he managed to persuade many of the merits behind this change. It would be good to see/read/hear what was said at these meetings. Many seem to overlook the fact that we already play half the league 4 times a season in any case.
-
Looks like I will be the only fan supporting Motherwell in a 10 team league. Maybe I can get my own box. Before this debate was ongoing it was quite apparent to anyone on this forum that many Motherwell fans are/were hacked off and dropping attendances would prove that point. Reading these posts it almost appears as if some are looking for an excuse to walk away from football and if the top 10 SPL is that - it would be a shame. Hopefully most will continue to support the club regardless of the size of the league. The alternative is the clubs revenue keeps declining and as a result the product on the park deteriorates and what then happens - more fans stay away and so on and so forth. It is a vicious circle. In an ideal world all fans would be happy with a larger league and come back to Fir Park in their droves, but that is unlikely to happen and the club knows it and most fans too.
