Ryan Bowman is sent off (straight red) for a flying elbow. That surely cannot be the case...

Gallagher now updated to a few weeks despite the main man saying a week or so (on Twitter) roughly about a week ago. Just fabulous. So a couple of weeks turns into the whole month of February when we will have had 20% of season games just about ! Lawless as a tbc is a kick in the haw maws also. The one player (apart from Kelly) that probably would have been a starter ! Lucky white heather anyone :-(

Pretty much as above. No one can argue that results have improved since GA came in but that performance and result raises quite a few question marks... We have brought in more players in Jan than any other team but they came here on the Mary Celeste. Where are they. Lawless injured but others appear to be unfit or god knows what. It is worrying that Kelly aside not one of the new recruits is a starter or can affect a game going south. What did the players think would happen today ? Hamilton would allow us the time and space to grow into the game. It was an awful start. That worries me greatly. I am sure all teams are missing home fans but the players would have known from the off it was unacceptable. For us there was no noticeable improvement after the 1st or 2nd goal A 3 man midfield is not working. The tactic of letting other teams have the freedom of the wings is not working. GA is already under immense scrutiny after that today. Our home form is the stuff of horror movies. St Johnstone next week is must not lose with 3 points a real requirement or else we could be once again odds on to finish bottom 2.

Care to elaborate ?

To be honest any team with Lamie, Mugabi and Maguire will struggle. SOD is fairly average in a Well shirt. Started shite and went downhill from there. Not my favourite but Polworth in next week for Maguire. Hopefully Gallagher will be back. Need a win but our home form is absolute garbage. Need a shake up for St Johnstone. Big game. We cannot afford to lose next week or we are well and truly back in the shite.

A penalty maybe but a red card seems bloody harsh. What. An absolute clusterfuck.

I see from FPC (115 AGM) that the word is Gallacher is only contracted to end of season. No word of any extension triggered by appearances. Maybe that was just guff. Either that or they are keeping schtum.....
-
Not any better than OHara. That much is very true. We played 21 seconds of good football that half. Any other team than Killie and we would be behind.
-
Would it be too much to ask for Motherwell players to pass to one another. So far so poor.
-
I was maybe a bit harsh on Smith after a few beers. I want him to be successful like any player that comes to Motherwell FC. But that was a glaring miss. Laxalt should never have had the chance to clear it off the line. If he connects and the goalie pulls of a stunning save then fine. But to head the ball into the ground when a few yards from the goal line and an excellent cross (by Lamie iirc) is a poor miss any way you look at it. And again if that had been big JW he would have had more stick than Smith has had. Hopefully he can make amends in the coming weeks.
-
It certainly makes the game that little more difficult. Alexander has done a decent job so far and was the best appointment for us. That said I doubt many would have been unhappy if Tommy Wright got the job. Killie will not want to lose their 1st game under TW. We seem to play quite a few games with new managers in charge first or second game. I would start OHara in front of Crawford. It would be great if Gallacher was back but probably not going to happen. Polworth for Maguire perhaps ? Not a popular one that perhaps but we need more creativity to our forwards.

Well that is clever Edit to add - I have seen the highlights and it was as bad. Not only that he has a free header straight after which had as much power as a 80 yr old asthmatic. I would love the guy to be a success but on the evidence so far he is no better than Jordan White.
-
I don’t give a f#ck. I am normally all over people who judge a player too early. But that miss was appalling. And again if it was JW he would have been slaughtered.
-
See if that was Jordan White missing that header in the last minute... Maybe because it could still have gone in but that was an awful miss. I am not saying it would have been deserved but I don’t really care. You have a header at goal from a few yards out and hit it into the ground. On target and it would have been 2-2. So far so meh for H Smith. A Jordan White clone it would appear. The only positive is we only lost 2-1 where after 2 minutes and the ensuing pressure it looked like it could be a heavy loss. St Mirren and St Johnstone will be safe especially after their games today. A massive game midweek. Sadly Killie will probably have a new Manager In by then. They need it. Will make things that bit tougher.

Where is the fun in that... This is Steelmen Online after all not the UN :-) Hopefully just 2+2 = 5 nonsense.

I am going to pick up on this comment above. Not a go at u supermarv. I am not sure I understand the chucking his toys out of the pram stuff. He signed a contract with we believe a contract extension triggered by x amount of games. If someone comes in or came in with a decent offer I am sure we would consider it. But it has not been reported unlike Campbell or Nisbet for example. Nowt we can do if no one is interested. I am quite surprised there were no bids but not our fault. We have always said we would not stand in anyone’s way if our valuation is met. Same will apply in the summer if Gallacher is contracted for another season.
-
Well I hope it is not SOD, Gallacher or Carroll. If the latter FFS is all I will say. If SOD might explain why he stayed put. If Gallacher then one game away from triggering an extension....If big Bevis then thee goes my anytime goalscorer bet. But OTF likes to tease..
-
If I had to hazard a guess I would say same team starts as Ross C but with Polworth in for Crawford. Maybe Lawless for Long. But apart from that would not expect any new guys to start unless any there are any injuries we are unaware of. I assume OHara still not available. On a serious note will the pitch manage with the rain forecast overnight and all day tomorrow. I know the strong wind may help but I do fear for the pitch being playable. We used to have covers or at least I remember we borrowed from another club. Not sure we do anymore. Could do with it going ahead to see if we can maintain upwards momentum.

Don’t be silly. They will be welcomed warmly and given every opportunity to impress before a bad word is spoken.... Signings.....plural !

I think sometimes people are interpreting in Spanish. What SOD said tonight was relating to we and Motherwell when talking about taking on a wounded animal in Dundee United and hoping we could get 3 points. There was literally nothing in his interview that suggested he was not committed to Motherwell. Nothing. He may well be gone and good luck to him but I read so much bollox on here it is almost unbelievable!
-
Well I have been a Well society member for many years but have never had an email. I just gave up. I spoke twice to the man in charge and he ensured me my email address was correct. But still no emails. But that statement is gobbledegook. Did we actually get any money or just sell on rights or whatever ? Maybe we will be laughing when Hibs sell him on for £10m and we have a 40% sell on clause. Then again I doubt it...
-
But it is.... In all seriousness I agree. Most of us can tell from previous posts who tends to be more reliable when it comes to the accuracy of club news. Then you have a handful of others that may have an in but certainly some try far too hard (get the pun).

I listened to the podcast and I found it hard to disagree with any points or comments he made. In general he talks up the club and the support he was given whilst Manager. On the subject of bringing a young lad on at Dundee United. I tend to agree with you on that one. I am quite sure there were other more experienced options. If it was a mistake then that was on Robbo. As he mentions nearly 7 years at Motherwell and 4 as Manager. A break was required for him and more so for the club and players. Not forgetting some vocal fans on this site... In my opinion he did a good job and wish him well wherever he goes as long as it is not to one of our rivals.
-
Alexander has only had 4 games. I am not sure how anyone can deem one game to be an exception in such a short space of time. In fact we battled very well v Rangers. That dick Madden aside we possibly should have won at St Mirren. We have Polworth to thank for being less able to battle back at Aberdeen rather than the management team. I was a supporter of Robinson up until he resigned. I will listen to the BBC podcast this morning as I am curious to hear what constitutes inexcusable behaviour. Robinson is clearly touting for a job and will say anything that will make him sound like he did an excellent job under trying circumstances at Motherwell. Most of us acknowledge that he did do a good job.

What a knob end of a reply. I kind of admit I got it wrong before trying to justify it. We won and so your prediction was a mile out. Suck it up instead of your pedantic post.
