  1. And this is not a p1ss take ? Can he not afford implants like Faddy or the new and somewhat perplexing hairline for Messrs Dunne
  2. They may well still be our sponsors this season. The delay to me suggests there has been a hiccup with sponsorship. This has happened in the past if I recall and means we end up taking what we can get. Lots of people in companies involved in ratifying a final decision. So always the risk at the last moment someone could pull the plug. That is business I guess. Those strips are interesting to say the least. It may be a hoax but a damn good one. Who else has the skills apart from UBH to come out with a trio of strips like that. Like the home and third one - less sure about away one. Of course could well be a hoax. We shall find out soon enough.
  3. I see they have released the info re Teams and who is 1st seed and 2nd seeds etc The second seeds are St Mirren, Livi, Morton and QOS in the South grouping Would probably rather avoid the 2 coming up to the Top flight for now at least. Of the other 3 teams would like Airdrie and Spartans and one other...
  4. Even less likely then. Would also expect Gerrard to have a look at him. Although after this presence at the Cup final who knows. Interesting website - I have not looked before. Seem to have VERY conservative estimate of our players worth......Carson at 250k Euros ! Hope we get a bit more than that.
  5. Like most I have mixed feelings about Ciftci. Clearly a talented footballer but does appear to lack application a lot of the time. He probably did better with us than I expected but then I had low expectations. A fully fit and focussed Ciftci would be a great addition to a team with our budget and resources. The huge Q is will he be either fully fit or focused. I guess it depends who else we are after and what they offer v Ciftci. Kenny Miller. I thought he was and is quite pacy. As stated he knows where the goal is and probably has a year or two left in top league. I would take him but very much doubt we could afford him in any case. O'Halloran is the one I would like out of all 3, but like Miller not sure we could afford him, although surely we could match or better St Johnstone who would also be after him as would Dundee and some teams down south. Of course he has a year left at Rangers, so unless they come to an agreement it is a moot point unless he is available on loan.
  6. I have renewed and had every intention of doing so regardless. I find it ironic that reaching 2 cup finals is being described as ultimately disappointing or not cited as a legitimate reason to renew or for that matter take out a season ticket if you have not had one before. Christ knows what most people on this thread would be saying if we finished like the season before. No cup runs and just avoiding relegation. I do understand the point that it is a one horse race and if Celtic do spend up to £10m on one player that gulf is getting bigger each and every year. I also think this next season will be tougher. We are no longer a surprise package. A lot will depend on whether Hopkin stays at Livi and Ross Jack at St Mirren. They are both good managers and will probably get more from these teams than their replacements. Bold statement but one I believe and suspect their respective teams fans will also. Rangers will get stronger - even if they apparently have no money and are living on borrowed time. Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen will be similar to this season. Better than us most probably. Our season and possible top 6 will depend more on what the likes of Dundee, Kilmarnock and St Johnstone do this summer in terms of squad additions.
  7. I like Polo neck or crew neck. Not a big fan of V necks. Also like fitted shirts Prefer sponsor free but sponsors pay for exposure and I get that. Depends who the sponsor is. Cash Converters not so great. Motorola and better known brands make us look more professional. Sadly we do not operate in that market, so little chance of Samsung or major brand choosing our little club. Although if they knew we would get to 2 cup finals a season that would possibly change ! Stitched badges all the time. Not sure anyone who would be happier with patches. Just looks and feels cheap. We have had Black/Grey and Denim away /third tops. I am hoping for a white away top along the lines of your mock up would be great. I liked this years hooped socks and bought a pair. I rarely buy socks....
  8. In short no - Dave However I am sure I read a comment from Robinson following on from the Cup Final stating that extra income goes back to former Chairmen. I was fairly certain that it was only income from transfers that went to Les and John Boyle. They get 60% or thereabouts from transfer income. It may be this was not accurate. It may also be that the club are keen to pay any debts off and therefore would decide to pay extra from additional income this season. I am sure it was around £1.6m we owed Les and around £500k to John Boyle. Assuming the figures reported are accurate then we took in around £1.2m this season - £500k for Moult, £400k for Henaghan and £300k from Johnson. So £720k paid off from the debt. All guesswork. Plus not sure if any money from previous season transfer was part of that or came before any agreement. What we do know is that we must have had a record turnover this season. Leaving transfer income and cup runs aside an increase of nearly 30% in attendance figures equating to 28,000 fans. Even if you assume a conservative £15 per extra fan - then that also equates to an additional £420,000 ! Plus you have to assume that our wage bill decreased over the previous season where it was reported our average annual salary was £55k and this season around £45k PA excluding bonuses. I think Les was allowing up to 3 or 5 years to repay him. So I guess no need to give extra money if we do not need too. Plus his very generous double your money offer will have reduced our debt to him from the sum detailed above. With a number of saleable assets in the team I expect we should be in a position to pay off both former Chairman over the next couple of years. Important point is we put a fair chunk of this years unplanned earnings into the bank for a rainy day / season which is likely to happen at some point in the future.
  9. You wonder if O’Halloran agent is full of pish......stating that he did not know he would be sitting amongst Celtic fans. He was there to watch us. Given Celtic fans had 3/4 of the stadium and it was clear what our sections were. Sounds like nonsense to me. That said unlikely he has a future at Rangers, but he has 1 yr left on his deal I believe. Did he not turn us down to go on loan to St Johnstone ? All that said I would take him at Motherwell but it is unlikely to happen imho. Feel sorry for McHugh. I think he has done well enough this season. Although I don’t have him down as our Captain. I do agree he has had some indifferent performances last couple of months. Not least in the final hence the comments on here. Would love it if Alfred came back next season. Seems like he would like to judging by his comments and we are obviously talking to Bury to see if it is a possibility. The key problem here is he has done very well and that means Bury may want to keep him or more likely other clubs would be interested. Time will tell.
  10. A post like that deserves rebuke. Well beaten today no doubt but gulf in wages and resources is huge. Not a happy clapper just a realist. Love my team and proud of what we have achieved this season.
  11. Pretty much this. There were not that many left of our initial allocation hence why it sold out today. Celtic got the extra 2300 last week. Shame we could not shift the extra amount but it makes sense as even though we sold out today we would have struggled to shift 2000+ tickets at this stage and as much as I would rather there were more Motherwell fans you want a full house plus the extra income even these couple of 000 tickets will bring in. Lets get ready to rumble. Actually looking forward to hearing that on Saturday.
  12. Thinking the same but would rather see them struggle than put 5 past Aberdeen. You could see they were playing at half pace and next week see an altogether different approach. Still may put some doubts in their mind
  13. Flow tweeted yesterday that a new sponsor is all but signed up (I assume new). If it is not yet finalised then I assume they cannot release new strip as I would also assume Macron would add sponsors name to all the shirts ? You also wonder about McEwan Fraser. If they are our sponsors for this season would they want another sponsor to get exposure before Cup Final. Unless the deal was up until last league game of the season ? Either way if they were available for sale before Cup Final I am sure that would mean shifting a few hundred more than they are likely to next season. So commercially it would make sense to get them on sale before next Saturday.
  14. Also missed our 20th clean sheet of the season a club record I guess for the new Premiership ? Fair enjoyed that today. The sun shone and we humped the wee team from across the river. I will be honest when I saw the line up I did expect the worst with so many 1st team regulars missing. What do I know........
  15. It may be an end of season affair but make NO mistake Accies will want to win and we should not want to go into a final on a dispiriting loss against our local rivals. I know we will rest quite a few players but I very much doubt they will. Think it will be a decent enough support. Last home game. The team have done well this season. Yes the football may not be pretty, but I think we all agree we have a team that give everything and try their best. The Cup performances have been way beyond anyone's expectations. I know we have one more (rather important) game to come but I would rather show my appreciation for the teams efforts this season - tomorrow. If we also get to do it a week tomorrow - fantastic.
  16. Beaten me to it and I was about to post same. New system and bound to be odd teething problems but this is a tad embarrassing after all the fanfare.. Hopefully Flow or someone from the ticketing office can contact Ticketmaster and get them to change / update sharpish !
  17. Probably should be in the Rebuild thread but interesting to hear we have already made offers to 3 or 4 players that are out of contract. In Scotland and England. He does mention we have ready had knock backs which is probably unsurprising. Who in Scotland would you want that is achievable ? I know he is injury prone but Templeton has had a good season at Accies. I expect he may end up at Hearts or Hibs or even Aberdeen
  18. That would be a concern if it does not improve sufficiently for him to be available for selection. If he could replicate his performance from the semi. I think he would be just what we need to unsettle or be enough of a nuisance to keep Scott Brown under constant pressure.
  19. So has Saturday if both ourselves and Hamilton lose midweek. If we can get through these games without an injury whether in 7th or 8th it is job done. That said we will not want to lose the next 2 or even 1 games heading into a final. I will head along tomorrow as I am through west anyway. I am not sure who he can rest without risking another defeat and disjointed performance as Saturday. I think it best play strongest side and only rest players who are carrying knocks. However if we win tomorrow and Hamilton win then Saturday should be less of a battle -he says optimistically.
  20. If you are a regular on this forum then I am surprised you are surprised by some of the comments. It is a regular feature for some posters. We could win 30 games in a row and lose game 31 and it would be the end of the world and Robinson must go. Just the way it works. There is very little perspective imho when it comes to some defeats. That said not just one player had an off day today. Virtually the whole team did. Dunne has improved no end as the season progressed but today was as bad as he has been this season. Same applies to McHugh. Even Main and Carson were not really at it today. It was just a strange game. We defended as badly as we could have. Let us hope we can restore some pride come Tuesday evening especially as I will head along. All that said part of me wants Hamilton to come to Fir Park at the weekend with something at stake for them and for that to happen Thistle probably need to win. Another part of me wants Hamilton safe come the weekend so they don’t injure any of our players in a all out battle. Hopefully today serves as a wake up call ahead of the final 2 league games.
  21. Got the very same sox. Great colours and comfy too. Are we up for the cup. Is there a buzz about the place ? Not sure tbh. But as Sir Stevie says if you have an ounce of Claret and Amber about u then get your arse to the final. To do otherwise would b shameful. Win or lose this team deserve a huge amount of respect. Let us not forget that only ONCE in our entire history have we qualified fir 2 Cup finals in a season. Well twice now. Think about it we have been around for 125 years plus. Stop fkin about and get your arse to Hampden
  22. Well said that man..... I get that us selling 12,700 tickets is a VERY good effort given our regular fan base, but I perhaps do not understand how we can take 13,000 to a League Cup Final and are (reportedly) struggling to sell same for a much more prestigious tournament and the LAST game of the season before a long summer. I guess the dilemna is say we do meet the magical 12,700 figure by next Tuesday. If we only just manage then I suspect there may be little chance of us selling the remaining 2300 even if we have a week and a half to do so. The club will find themselves in a tricky situation potentially. Do they take the risk of asking for more and having a whole section lying empty and all the criticism that would follow not to mention the lower income. Lets hope we get a late rush.....
  23. If that proves to be the case it will be a little disappointing. Perhaps people are starting to believe that reaching cup finals is routine / normal. I am 50+ and this will be only my 5th if I recall correctly and I will have attended all of them - So on average 1 every 10 years !! The 2300 may not seem a lot but it makes a big difference on the day. Almost meaning that we will be outnumbered by their lot by more than 3 to 1 as oppose to by more than 2 to 1. Even I accept that it is a quite probably long shot based on Celtic resources and squad, but I do also genuinely believe that if any Motherwell team can do then this bunch can. They will certainly bust a gut on the day trying to bring that famous old trophy and European football back to Fir Park. You would not want to miss out were that to happen......
  24. Why is the tops on these types of threads are invariably better than what we end up with. Even those where we have mocked up a Macron template. UBH white kits above would have me literally drooling. The Adidas one is epic but the one above would do the trick nicely. Here’s hoping....
  25. Fair enjoyed that today. A win is a win and 5 in 5 v Dundee is a huge bonus. As is big Cedric goal we have all been waiting for. Of course we were not great and when are we ever. I felt we started the 2nd half well and were the better team. Ya Bezzer and Steelboy obviously expect us to play football akin to Man City with our meagre resources. How else can you explain their overly negative posts match after match. The 2 of them do my head in. They should both take some happy pills or something stronger. Maybe we should employ them in our PR team. We would be left with 3 fans and a dog. Muppets. Grimmy is looking more like the player he was first time around. Any injury is a worry but I think we managed to get thru the game today with a few worries but nothing permanent.
