  1. Looks like all Killie judging by BBC text. Boyd had 3 attempts and a goal within a handful of minutes. We need to score next goal or I suspect it is over. A loss today and I genuinely believe we will finish in the bottom 2. Hope we can turn it around..
  2. Pretty much agree with this. I was on earlier in this thread saying he has done a decent job for us. And over the piece he has. But that has come to an abrupt halt. 7-2 to Aberdeen you could almost say was a blip, but not after yesterday. To lose 5 goals by half time to any team is a red neck and unforgivable. I suspect he may get till the Kilmarnock game, but a loss there should be enough to call it a day and try something different to inject some much needed application and direction in the team. Right now we are headed for 11th at best if not automatic relegation.
  3. Expected worse after the midweek performance. No shame in losing narrowly by 2 away to Celtic a week after they put 6 past ICT. We seemed to have a few half chances. Our season re-starts next week. Massive game v Dundee. Win and I think we will go on a run. Lose and the pressure mounts. Been a tough run. Hopefully we can turn the corner.
  4. I will tell you what - if my team was being humped and I was being called a fuckin clown. I probably would lose the plot. All this he is a Manager and should know better. I am in a clear minority on here but I like McGhee - always have. I base my feelings on him on how he has done with the team and his track record is VERY decent despite what people on here like to think. That said I am questioning this season, but he and we have been dealt a bigger barrow load of shit than normal. With shit fixture list, shit cup draws and shit refereeing decisions. If he keeps us in and around the top 6 I would be happy if he stayed. If we continue the firm of last 2-3 fixtures against teams in bottom 6 - then I would agree we need to start over with a new Manager and clean slate.
  5. To be fair - it has been a miserable time in Aberdeen of late. House prices diving and unemployment rocketing. It is cathartic to take joy in others suffering - as in McGhee It turned when he said in his opening interview as Aberdeen boss he would rather have had the Celtic job or words to that effect. It would piss me off too. That plus his reaction to the 9-0 loss to Celtic and all his good work as a player was undone.
  6. Let's see where we are come the split. It may be too late then but as much as tonite was a shambles and Saturday is likely to be no better we should stand by him for now. If nothing else to piss of the wanky Dons fans. Their hatred of him is irrational. I never thought we would finish top 6 but still could. All the other sides will have to play Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts and are likely to take little off any of those teams.
  7. Lets be honest it has been a shit season from the word go From 4 away games v the old firm to Rangers in the League cup group and then away in the Scottish cup So many breaks and then the self destructive red cards. Even this game. For the original tie Aberdeen were going through a sticky patch and we appeared to start the game well. Q the bloody floodlight failure !!! Throw in perfectly good goals chopped off at Dundee and Partick It has just been a SHITE season all round and I only hope after the inevitable humping on Saturday to add to tonite we can get in about the teams about us. If not the bottom 2 looms large !!!!
  8. Aberdeen are a very decent team but this is embarrassing and unacceptable With Celtic away to come we will sure as fuck not be relying on goal difference to keep us out of the bottom 2 places. I will be back after FT and hope it is no worse than 5 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. It was because he can't tackle it was both violent and dangerous. And every bit as bad as either our recent red cards. Hence the fans and more so the Managers and players frustration. I expect inconsistency from referees, but the one thing they have been consistent about - is red carding our players recently for similar challenges that have only seen yellow or eve nothing !
  10. I am not completely missing the point. McGhee job is to keep us in the league and if possible top 6. He knows the strengths and weaknesses of our players better than anyone. I am quite sure if he felt playing an offensive attacking formation v Celtic, Rangers & Hearts et al would reap rewards he would do so. If he was doing that and we were getting gubbed repeatedly, posters would be on here moaning that he should be more defensive. Basically he cannot win either way.
  11. His tactics are to make us more defensive against better sides with better players and less so against teams in bottom 6. Go figure. But all the posters above are obviously tactical geniuses that should have been football managers clearly..... I am not saying he is getting it right all the time, but even he can not legislate against players lunging into tackles and getting sent off or making defensive howlers in the 89 minute. We are still sitting 6th even had a fairly poor season.
  12. Still top 6 somehow. If we can keep 11 men on the park then we should have enough in the existing squad to be safe. We cannot seem to beat top 5 sides but have a decent enough record v the teams around about us. Aberdeen is a free game and Celtic a tough fixture. But all the other sides around still have to play Celtic and Hearts for that matter, who if they play like today will probably beat most bottom 6 sides.
  13. This season seems to be like the movie Groundhog Day. Same outcomes time after time. When we look like we r in a position to do something we self destruct. The red card almost identical to Skippy - could argue it was a yellow but you could equally argue a red. Sadly both refs thought straight away a red. Is Lasley unfortunate or slow. Probably both but we sure have no luck at the moment.
  14. Let's go and get Conte in charge Some posts on here defy belief but have sadly become the norm
  15. Big big win Not sure what will happen tonight but if we keep the existing squad and add Ciftci Inreckon we would have enough about us to finish clear of the bottom 2 and possibly top 6. If that happened hopefully some fans would cut our Manager a break. Chance would b a fine thing. MON the WELL
  16. Interestingly his interview after today's game was very upbeat and yet on here he still gets pelters. McManus cock up aside we did better at Ibrox than we did today, especially in the 2nd half. I get a lot of what people are saying. At times I am baffled by his subs or indeed lack of them. But he has managed over 1000 games iirc, so would trust his judgement over 99.9% of posters on this site even when we get beaten.
  17. And that is an upbeat post Dave. I would hate to see a downbeat one :-)
  18. I agree more with you Ya B than others. We shot ourselves on the foot last week, but the tactics were spot on for 80+ minutes. McGhee has worked wonders for MFC on a ever decreasing budget. If we can stay up this season that will be fine for me. It will be close but McGhee's experience will get us there.
  19. There you have it. We have lost only 3 league goals in opening 30 minutes of games this season. Best or 2nd best in the league. Lost 26 goals in 2nd half. Worst in the league ! OLDER players ? Lack of stamina ? God knows but the management team need to sort this stat out. MGhee upbeat in his interview. I guess he has to be. Our next 4 games are daunting. Could see us bottom by end Feb. I will keep the faith and hope new players make a difference. All you can do as a fan.
  20. That about sums it up. Lost 20 league goals in the last 20-30 minutes. We either lack stamina or concentration or both. I was screaming at the TV to get the sub on when it went 10 v 10. Unlucky Chalmers went off, but Skippy would not have been in that position had we got a player on quicker. At 11v10 I don't think we would have lost, but I don't know why I get excited - it was only a question of how we would find a way to fuck it up, especially v Rangers. Us losing Skippy had a bigger impact than them losing O'Halloran. It was careless from Skippy and we will miss him next game. According to Sky was the 4th official that told Collum it was a Red card. Tough being a Well fan at the moment.
  21. Back in town after the game. I celebrated the goal like a nutter. Then promptly sat down quietly waiting for the inevitable to unfold. But even I thought 1-0 up with 5 to go we would get a draw. But as my mate pointed out if Liverpool can lose to Bournemouth 4-3 after being 3-1 up ! Hurts like hell though.
  22. Are we preparing for life after Moult ? As to Reynolds. Thank Christ I posted that or we would have had nothing to talk about the past few days. But here is the thing - at NO point did I say it WAS happening. I did say that my colleague who is an Aberdeen fan told me he had heard from a couple of sources it might well happen. But I did say myself that he said Pawlett was coming to us on loan and we know how that turned out....
  23. Wee rumour doing the rounds up north. We are talking with Mark Reynolds with a view to pre-contract agreement Still this cam from the same source that had Peter Pawlett joining us on loan in the summer ! In terms of Reynolds - he is certainly not getting a game at the moment...
  24. If stories are to be believed we could see Cadden, Moult, Heneghan and possibly Skippy depart this transfer window. I suspect one of Moult and Cadden will be off if the right offer comes in. Paying off our creditors (Hutchison and Boyle) and securing our financial future is of paramount importance. My concern is they do not depart before the Scottish cup tie v Rangers. Having bought a ticket for that game I am positive we can give them a game with our best current team but not without Cadden and / or Moult..
  25. I am heading along to this and really looking forward to it. Going to make a day of it in Glasgow since it is a Saturday. If it was a Sunday would have probably settled for Sky. Long tine since I have been at Ibrox and we will be underdogs, but both teams will not have played for a few weeks. Hopefully we have a full fit squad and maybe Pearson involved as well so he can replicate the play off leg at Ibrox. I think there will be a decent crowd because of the winter break. A win would be great but even a draw would give us even more ££££.
