  1. Not sure what his remit will be exactly, but it is the ONE area I would address if ever I was in charge of the club. I never will be - but most companies have a customer charter or care programme. Generally is sets out the bare minimum expectations of how to deal efficiently and effectively with their customers to ensure satisfaction and REPEAT custom. I have had many dealings with the commercial department at the club and some have been fine, but many times it has been left wanting with no response or delayed and non professional responses. I know of quite a few fans who have given up expensive season ticket packages or hospitality due to ineptitude. If this guy can help address this then it may well be the best signing we have made in recent years. Time will tell.
  2. It was indeed. Interestingly I noted on their match thread on Pie & Bovril one of their fans saying apart from the goal he was ineffectual and looked disinterested for most of the game. He was wanting him hooked before he scored. Sounds all too familiar.
  3. That would be cruel Not as bad as Everton losing out on Sissoko - but cruel. I was genuinely excited for a moment. Mind Flow has said fee agreed and contract agreed...
  4. Diving wee toerag But he would be our diving wee toerag... Probably someone we have not heard of. The next Marvin Johnson maybe ?
  5. £45k back to Kidderminster If we have add ons - presumably based on promotion, appearances and sell on clause. We may yet clear £500k. He did blow hot and cold. But he started well this season before Oxford came calling. Fair enough based on play v lower league opposition.
  6. That would be a disappointment if true. As posted earlier - would expect it to be £500k+ But unlike Sissoko - if you only have one bidder.
  7. All supposition really but We had 2 offers from Oxford which were well below our valuation. That was reportedly £1m but might have been less. The Oxford Manager has stated that Marv has been his main target and he managed to persuade the Chairman today to come up with an offer acceptable to Motherwell. Bear in mind Kidderminster are due a 10% sell on fee. My guess is £6-700k with adds ons and sell on clause. If that is the case - then very healthy return for a £25k outlay + lest we forget a very important role is us humping Rangers in the play offs. For that last part alone + earning us decent return - he goes with my best wishes..........
  8. On his day he was our best and most dangerous player. This was sporadic however. Bottom line is we paid circa £30-50k and got a decent return He has probably trebled if not quadrupled his wages. Hard not to see how he would want that - as would we all. Things were going south, so best he moved on. Hope we get one or two in as cover. MON the MOULTY
  9. Maybe - I am told loan move with option to buy...
  10. I am hearing from a Dons fan - that Peter Pawlett is lined up for us should Marvin be sold tonight !!!
  11. Reading McGhees comments post the Rangers game - it is clear he regards McHugh as a 1st team regular. That being the case is this the writing on the wall for Lasley ? He is our captain after all, but do we go for Clay or Lucas. Time will tell
  12. Why was it a massive mistake ? People on here need to realise we are singing the players we can afford ! There will be some mistakes, but far too early to slate Clay. I was not at the game, but McGhee thought he had a very decent game. I actually thought he came on to a game v St Johnstone Let's give some players more than 4 seconds before condemning them as sh1te
  13. It is quite an achievement to actually get 3 months into one. What I love and despair about this site is the emergence of posters that defy belief. CM certainly comes into that category.
  14. I think this is a touch unfair. He has played a couple of games. I thought he started poorly as did the rest of the team. But the fact he leads the MOM poll suggests quite a few fans agree with the view that he became better as the match wore on and I though he did reasonably well. Some of his forward passes were very good. It could go either way but I think there is as much a chance he will prove a good addition as becoming another Stuart Carswell.
  15. I also agree with that. Clay started poorly but grew into the game and made some good forward passes. Chalmers was far from the bomb scare I was expecting. A couple of lapses aside I thought he was fairly steady. St Johnstone much the better side for 30 minutes of 1st half but we started to create chances. We score then have 2 or 3 other decent chances to get a second. St Johnstone equaliser was good work from Swanson. Still at this stage it was fairly even until Samsons blunder. As mentioned it has been an accident waiting to happen. He has flapped at many shots and parries and spills quite a lot. We're it not for that we could and perhaps should have had a draw. Cadden was poor before he was hooked, but bringing on the ineffectual Blyth in his place did not help our cause. I so want Thomas to succeed and I get the argument that with 10 to 15 minutes here and there it is tough to contribute. But again he had 2 to 3 decent chances and fluffed it.... Be interesting to see if McGhee sticks by Samson or gives Brill a run out. I know my preference.
  16. It was all rather depressing. We played poorly and they played well. When that happens a drubbing is no surprise. Brendan Rogers is a decent Manager, so we will see less lapses from Celtic this season than under Delia. This league cup campaign has been jinxed from the get go. We pull Rangers from 2nd seeds which ultimately put paid to finishing top seeds. Then when we could have drawn Alloa we draw Celtic away ! Back to the main business on Saturday. But after having beaten Hearts and drawing with Aberdeen St Johnstone seem to have more about them and more solidity than we appear to have. Still we are at home so that must count for something....
  17. Glad Oxford have seen fit to stop wasting everyone's time. If the £300k is true - it shows the lack of respect for Scottish football. You can argue all day over Marvs true worth, but what I am sure we are all agreed on - is if he was performing like he is for us for Oxford they would probably get £2m. It is a farce and I am glad the club are standing firm.
  18. To answer that particular Q - all u need do is look a couple of posts up.
  19. Johnson was clearly targeted as a threat. We're all his injuries as portrayed. I honestly don't know. What I do know is he was given quite a few whacks during the game. We should have had the game put to bed. Killie offered nothing until last 15 minutes. A long season beckons for your team.
  20. I had Motherwell at -1 and -2. Don't bet often in fact rarely and today reminded me why. I just felt Killie were fragile and the truth is we could easily have won by 2 or 3 goals. But after going 2-0 up we just lost focus and It became a stop start game with subs and lengthy injuries. Ainsworth was summed up today. Sublime chip and then misses a sitter and was distinctly average otherwise. Ah WELL 3 points away from home on a plastic pitch - mustn't grumble
  21. aye - but they have shrunk the pitch or the lines around it to be more accurate Basically admitting that they are poor and giving teams more space to play will be detrimental to their chances of picking up points. Does not say much for confidence. That said it may actually work and turn the game into a stuffy battle. Hard to argue with the logic sadly..
  22. I note that Dundee have signed El Bakhtaoui or however the name is spelt. Must mean Blackburn did not want him as he was last reported as training down there. Hope this is not one we have missed out on. No money unless Marv moves on - but he might have been a decent replacement Time will tell
  23. I believe we have 2 years left in terms of his contract - so we are in no hurry to sell him or should not be. The deal to pay back Les (if one has been agreed) would be over a few years and not one or two. Do I think Marv is worth £1m - probably not. But Oxford sold a player for £3million - Kemar Roofe I think it was to Leeds. We need money - always, but fed up of English clubs paying millions down south and then peanuts up here. £750k+ & sell on clause of circa 15% fine - but any less - Jog on. It is a gamble but I think Marvin looks like he is getting better and not worse. If he has a stonking start then that would mean even more in the coffers.
  24. Worst draw we could have had. Might get some cash but that is all
  25. In order of (obvious) preference Alloa, Morton, Patrick The rest and we will probably struggle, especially Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen. At least we are in the draw unlike Dundee, Killie and County.
