  1. Absolutely this. In fact do they not have someone up at the dead rubber at Ross County where neither team can qualify ? Team that finished 5th in top flight higher than any other team bar ST J and no reporter at the game. A diabolical decision but one we have become accustomed too!
  2. I am sure we will find out soon enough what Marv is worth. Sadly I cannot see him being here come the end of the transfer window. I assume he has no buy out clause, so we are in driving seat. My guess is anywhere between £750k and £1.5m. Anything less and I would keep him for the season or until Xmas at least. I saw he re-tweeted a comment about him being championship bound !!! He would be a big loss, but a decent piece of business all the same.
  3. Get behind the team. If we lost then I would be on here venting my frustration. But some people take the proverbial bourbon
  4. Especially a boost for the new players. At least they know we are not a judgemental non tolerant bunch......oh wait
  5. Except tonight appears a new nadir. Booing a Well team off the park for winning 3-0. #ashamed

  7. Not hilarious at all. Just feckin sad and pathetic if not unexpected. We probably did not play that well. But it is still pre-season and since when has a 3-0 win been a disgrace. Some people need to look in the mirror. And then smack themselves.....
  8. Was not there as down south. But a 3-0 win a shocking performance ? On an evening when Ross Coubty lost to Alloa and St Johnstone lost on penalties v Brechin. Dundee were losing v Peterhead. Armageddon ya muppet
  9. People talk about poor crowds and derisory money. But examine the evidence and it is not strictly true. It has been pointed out that the deal with Betfred and the money on offer is twice what was on offer last season. The crowds may be low - but how many away fans would have travelled to Annan were it a friendly. Not me and probably not a few other hundred Well fans that made the trip our of the 600 or so. It actually would have helped to have had Rangers at Ibrox. After costs Stranraer will share gate money from a near 30,000 crowd! It is not perfect, but better this than pre-season friendlies any day of the week.
  10. Even if we do get through we will not be seeded for the next round. Which means a likely tie v Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen etc. Going to be tough. Also noticed how Dundee United play Dunfermline on Sunday. Meaning they would potentially know what would be needed for both to qualify if it came down to it...
  11. Marv was superb at times and his back heel to set up the 3rd was bloody sublime. Add in his goal and easy to see why we will b lucky to hold onto him end of transfer window, if Goodwillie was worth £2.3 m !!!!
  12. Looking forward to our Euro adventure (well nearly in England). Only as I am driving somewhat sober than those trips. A new ground albeit one with a synthetic pitch. They bring back horrible memories. Hopefully we can help erase them today. Still any team that goes to Ibrox and concedes same as we did at home to the h*ns deserves respect. We do need to win and ideally in 90 minutes or the next 2 games actually do become pre-season friendlies... Looks like around 600 Well fans which is reasonably good going in July. Pay at the gate also. Small ground should be a good friendly atmosphere.
  13. Seems like a decent lad. Was looking fairly solid at right back before yet another injury. Now that Tait is here less requirement for him other than back up probably. The key issue for us is that we have small squad / tight budget so cannot really carry many if any injury prone players. That said he is under contract, so no need for him to go anywhere unless a deal can be done.
  14. I would have thought he would have been given the chance in the rest of the league cup games with Moult injured. Really surprised at this move.
  15. I am headin along from Edinbourg. Looking forward to a new ground. Bit of a novelty. Not that far from Motherwell either. Suspect by the time of the game we will have sold 2/3rds of the tickets. 600 from 900+
  16. Apart from the scoreline and losing to them, I actually enjoyed the game. The league cup may have its critics, but that was way better than a pre-season friendly. It was actually not a bad game to watch. After Hibs I was way worried. After yesterday less so. Over the piece Rangers were better, but if we had managed to score 1 or 2 of our early chances you never know. No real surprise either as again their playing budget will be anywhere between 5 and 10 times ours and perhaps more. If Johnson could score he would be worth his £1.5m possibly more as he has energy to burn and must be a defenders nightmare. I was impressed by the new additions. Especially Tait and McHugh. Blyth I suspect will fight it out with Moore to be back up to Moult (when fit) and Skippy. Not been overly impressed by him but early days. Sadly Ainsworth and Dom Thomas showing similar form to late last season. Both have the talent but never seem to get to their promise. Explains why they are usually on the bench. All in all a good workout. Suspect we will need to win 3 games to be one of the best 4 runners up.
  17. I think the crowd was 6900. They had circa 4000 which meant we had 2900. I can even do maths. It was on TV during summer holidays. So no surprise. BUT - we do struggle to get any half decent support these days. 7500 in the play offs - makes you wonder where the 4500 glory hunters go when we need them
  18. Thought all our new additions performed quite well But Tait looked a real good addition. Strangely though one of my fellow fans thought otherwise, so glad to see a majority in here agreeing. #you know who you are BH
  19. Make no mistake some of their players and the majority of their fans see this as a chance to excorcise a ghost from the play off game. When according to them their players and fans were attacked and goaded and generally mistreated. The irony is not lost on me.. Truth is we must be up for this from the off and all playing must perform to a good standard (unlike hibs) or it could be a reverse of that scoreline a little over a year ago. My heart says we win on penalties, my head tells me they will be a little stronger around the park and win by a couple of goals. Hope not. We shall see.
  20. If we play like last week v Hobos then it will be a comfortable win for the h**s It is just a pre-season friendly dontcha know. Warburton has been saying this for weeks. Sounds to me like he is getting his excuses in early...
  21. Actually Ryan Stevenson was the one I would have also quoted. Maybe I should have said once it became public knowledge rather than because it became public knowledge. Hard to tell without the facts. I would rather not know until deal is done like the players we signed this summer. Don't think many if any had them mentioned or on the radar.
  22. Good Q. To be fair he started to look the part at right back before yet ANOTHER injury. Let's see how good Tait is. We have options at least
  23. He may b talking the truth, but as most on here agree we would rather do out dealings on the sly. Remember quite a few times where we lost out on targets because it was public knowledge. Thanks to those dastardly agents no doubt.... Only a matter of time before Kante and Pogba grace the Fir Park turf.
  24. a bit harsh even for u Busta - the voice of reason
