  1. Seem to start like Andy Murray 8 minutes gone and Thistle have had 4 attempts at goal Better waken up....
  2. We shall wait and see what tomorrow brings. Thanks t Flow - we can get more shut eye. Tansey to Aberdeen would b good ahead of this weekend....
  3. It was not poor stuff. Typical negative crap from yourself. It was unfortunate. We were marginally the better team yet lost. Sh1t happens, but I felt we played well in quite a few spells and but for rub of the green would have the point which we would have deserved. Case in point their defender heading over from a yard out when he knew nothing about it. Of course we conceded from a corner and from their 1st feckin effort. That happens too to much for Motherwell. Cadden proved why McGhee got it so wrong last week. He played very well all things considered. I would rather we lost today than v Caley in the cup, so hopefully we get better luck in that game.
  4. Did I say that McGhee has to take the blame for trying to be too clever and watch it f~ck up spectacularly I think today is MORE of a reason why he is managing Motherwell and not Liverpool. His team selection was flawed. I just hope this doe not dent the confidence too much as I genuinely thought we would be top 6 at this rate. Wake up call methinks
  5. Yes and no. Two points of note. One - we may have had Lasley and Grimshaw and still lost at a very tough venue. Two - we could have kept a settled defence and brought in Laing, Cadden etc and used midfielders in midfield and still lost. Point is most fans if not all believed to mess about and play players in unusual positions was a recipe for disaster and that is how it has proved. 5-0 - I think my point is ably proved. McGhee got it badly wrong today. Sometimes he is guilty of getting ahead of himself....
  6. I think we can agree on two things: We will miss Grimshaw battling style and need a replacement as soon as. McGhee has made a right mess of the line up as most could tell A rare black mark, but sore one all the same. Right now it is damage limitation...
  7. Losing a goal from a corner kick. Never saw that coming. Very rarely happens against us...... Not sure about line up. I trust McGhee but playing 2 wingers at Tynecastle. With our 2 midfielders missing we needed to make it 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1. Edit to add - This is now embarrassing now and our goal difference will take a hammering.
  8. Great memories of the game. Great atmosphere and 3500 fans. Sad and special circumstances - yes, but sad we cannot get that amount of fans at Fir Park these days.......
  9. If we apply ourselves like we have over the past few games we will have a decent chance to come away with something. United have by all accounts been unlucky the past few games. It will be tough as they will know a win for us puts us out of sight and cuts them further adrift. Looking forward to it - gets me out of the in-laws house for a good few hours
  10. It is down to many fans staying away because we have been sh1te. Short of losing 50 games in a row I will always turn up at FirPark and even then....... This club and this team deserve better. TOO MANY FLIGHTY FANS Talk about money, talk about the club in general. We have too many in our support prepared to sit on their arses when the going gets tough. Just SAD.
  11. Very much this. If he signs when he is 75 I will still be happy. Must have shown up well in training. Probably a pay and play deal. Not sure I expect to see him in 1st team though. All a bit strange.....
  12. Was looking at the Well again hardback last night Back in 1984 in the old premier league in Jan at home we had 1800 attendance v Dundee I have been going since the mid 70's, but only regularly for the past 25 years. Our crowds seem to peak in the mid to late 90's where the home support was between 5-6000 Mostly it has been between 4-5000, but these days is between 3-4000. It is what it is and we do need to try to attract back some stay away fans and make sure we do not lose any more. 7500 v Gers in the play offs and euro games shows we have decent support, when the team is playing well, the weather is not Sh1t and not near Xmas or school holidays.
  13. Well that was for the most part very enjoyable. 1st half was best we have played since the play offs and follows up on the Hearts game. Shame we had so few fans around to witness it. I am going to go on Boxing Day and looking forward to it. Play like that and we ought not to lose. Standouts were Moult (again), Marvin in the 1st half and credit to young Hall who did not do a whole lot wrong. Much more optimistic that we will avoid bottom 2 places
  14. Speaking as one I would not really care. Quite happy to sit in other parts of the ground from time to time. Would probably opt for the main stand.
  15. Sadly Ross County are a much better team as are most of the others in the league. Unlucky with a shitty penalty decision last game, but even then ICT looked a better team and had half a team missing into the bargain. I keep hoping we can turn things around, but every week that passes - I need to rethink that. Barring a huge turnaround I cannot see anything other than another battle to avoid the drop this season. Even with a new Manager. We cannot score many goals and are always likely to concede. Hope I am wrong and the team can surprise me today, but losing the 1st goal always is tough to recover from. To make matters worse D United have taken the lead
  16. Fine if that is the case, but was never a penalty in the 1st place. As you have a rulebook nearby does it not have to be deliberate handball for a penalty or stopping goal scoring opportunity. McManus did neither. Thomson is a charlatan and has done us few favours if any ever !!!
  17. Just seen highlights. Thomson is a sad excuse. Handball was no way deliberate and as soft as you will see. It did hit McManus on the hand but he was facing away and the ball traveled a yard at most. The retake ? There was encroachment but by both players and yet he penalises Motherwell. Set the tone for the game. Get him tae fuck away from any of our games in future.
  18. Being a long standing Well fan - this had all the hallmarks of a (perhaps) surprising defeat. Truth is we had the same shots on and off target and edged posessesion albeit narrowly. We carried some luck last week and none this week. Thomson is a fucknugget. As far as I can remember he is seeking to fuck us over and today was no different. The penalty was soft and more often than not is not given. I said before the game Vigurs would score a worldly and wish I had put money where my mouth is / was.... Overall I felt we were quite poor. Charmers and McManus were woeful. Skippy again struggles to pick the correct pass and execute. Like the McGhee interview on club website. Maybe more positive than the reality, but no need to panic yet. We were in a relegation battle before he arrived and unless Les splashes cash in Jan window will be again. I would rather go into it with McGhee than Barra. Finishing 10th is still the priority and today shows that is our sole aim.....
  19. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Our Achilles heel for the last Christ knows how long
  20. I think we have conceded most goals from dead balls. Aberdeen on the other hand have scored the most from dead balls. That stat alone gives me the fear. I would love to think we can turn in a fantastic performance and sneak a result, but not sure this team have it in them. Really hope I am proved wrong !!
  21. Miserable f#cker It is October for Christ sake. Granted things don't look good, but we need to give the new Manager more than 1 game. Plus we have a transfer window. No money but Les may have too much egg nog and splash squillions on 45 top class strikers.... I would prefer too not give up until around March time. You could try doing likewise
  22. Was as poor as we have been against Celtic. Maybe not surprising as they are built to compete in the Champions league., albeit poorly! McGhee will need a few games to get up to speed. We have played better and lost more heavily, so will have to accept it and move on to next week and the more important games v teams about us. Could have been a hammering, but they stuck at it 2nd half and morale should be OK as oppose to a 5 or 6 nil. Hopefully Thistle, Killie and Unites lose this weekend.
  23. And as he said in his press conference and as I alluded to in earlier posts. Fans saw him hawking himself around other clubs and I myself believed this at the time. The reality is that Boyle asked him to raise money from player sales (if I recall Quinn and Clarkson ?} and also to look at moving on himself as his contract was becoming a challenge. He did that and I am not saying he should be lauded for it unlike he maybe did in his interview today, but nor should he be vilified for actually trying to (in the end) help the club out. That's the reality - it may upset some panic merchants on here to know that. Whether he is successful I do not know and it could be a disaster. Me - I am happy to see if he can do the job and create some stability.
  24. Truth is - any appointment would have split opinions and this is no different. I am happy to see him back, but have no way of knowing whether it will be judged a success or an unmitigated disaster. Time will tell. The poll shows almost 80% in favour. So some real pantywetters as per. Nothing unusual in that on this board. Welcome back Muttley - good luck...
