Of course I do, but that would be telling.... He never snaked us, more like the other way around...
-
Everyone keeps talking about the way he left last time....FFS. Hawking himself about left, right and centre.... Maybe just maybe there is more to it than that as alluded to in an earlier email. I would be happy with his return. Not sure it will work out, but every appointment we make is a gamble of sorts. Better than most names bandied about including Valakari imho

Sensible post of the year award.....
-
Maybe we could not afford to keep him ....
-
I have said it before and say it again. Does everyone know the exact circumstances behind McGhee tarting himself around ? There is more to it than him looking for a bigger better job. I would have him back more than most of the names in the frame.
-
Does everyone on here know the exact circumstances on why McGhee left 1st time around ?. Maybe just maybe it was not all his own doing. The club will likely opt for someone who knows the Scottish top flight. McGhee fits the bill on that front. His chance to resurrect his career. The more I think about it the more I would be happier with Mutley over most other candidates. The players would be fit for sure. Time will tell but McGhee coming back may not be a bad thing at all.

That would make you a teenager then .....

Joe and Wullie P were my 1st Well heroes and tbh there have not been too many since to deserve such adulation - from me anyway. Saddened to hear this news. I knew he was not keeping well but late 60's is still quite young these days. Over 500 appearances for the Well - that says it all. RIP

For all he was shite and he was, he can referee any of our games. Under his watch we have won 15 games and drawn 3 from 24 matches. That is only 6 defeats from 24 matches. Coincidence perhaps but that is a better win record than Most of the top managers -
I went for Kennedy. A fantastic performance. So composed and got his foot in when required. Ainsworth a close second. Best game from him in quite a while.
-
I tried to be positive. But we are going backwards with NO sign of improvement. Time is up.
-
Seems strange. But I think he is actually a decent quality keeper. Obviously Twardzik is not rated and if Ripley gets injured + / or returns to Boro we now have decent cover. I do believe we have a strong squad and with Pearson and Grimshaw - either one or even both could form our central midfield within a couple of weeks. As LONG as the manager picks the strongest 11 based on current form - I think we will finish mid table comfortably. As LONG as......that is the Q I want answered in the next 2 weeks . We will be fine
-
A witty and splendid retort. I am hurting. I should not have swore, but in my defence your response to my original post was just illogical. Anyway back on topic. I think we have a better squad and when we get the chance to play our strongest 11 we should be okay. The key Q is whether the majority of fans strongest 11 resembles Baracloughs. On the evidence of yesterday - we have concerns here. If Kennedy was carrying a knock then fine, but Skippy and Taylor deserve to be benched. Maybe too early to see what Grimshaw will offer, but cannot be worse than what we have seen from Jake Taylor.
-
I take it you are fuckin clueless. Of course I was at the game. Why would I post such comments if I was not. Your subsequent response tells me all I need to know. I will get in to a debate when you post some sense
-
I think we have the makings of a decent team. But that all depends on Baraclough waking the fuck up. To start Laing ahead of Kennedy, to start Jake Taylor at all. To start Skippy based on performance of late. I mean WTF. Glad we got a point. I actually believed we deserved it because of last 20-25 minutes + Ross County blatant time wasting. On the plus side Robinson did well when he came on. Grimshaw in his brief cameo looks like a good addition. Even Johnson was a better than Dom, Thought he should have squared than shot and Robinson would have had a tap in. We could have a decent starting 11 from the squad with a fit Pearson also.
-
I think he has assembled a decent enough squad. Problem is he does not select right players from it. Jake Taylor should not be near the starting 11 based on his performances so far. Nor should Skippy or Laing. The team that finished today should start next week. What did Kennedy do to be benched for Laing?

This is it for me. What other company would you invest in without knowing whether it is making or losing money or breaking even. I also not quite in the "not a penny more" camp, but I would like to know whether it is a bottomless pit. My initial investment will have been used up and that is fine. But if I am to sign up for monthly on top of that + season ticket, hospitality, Home top, other merchandise. If the Sh1t is going to hit the fan. I would rather save my money till then and help out. I get it is a catch 22. But do I make my initial investment in the Well Society (which I have done), then pay a monthly sum - which I would consider doing, only to find that Les buggers off into the distance and the only people that can save the club are the fans including myself. So yet another sum of money. I LOVE my club but that is asking a LOT. I think this is the predicament for most....
-
This could be a right good signing if true. Why would you go from Man Utd U21s to Motherwell however
-
I get that Les is a serious business man. I get that he wants the club to be self sufficient. I appreciate he provided much needed income at a time of hardship. But I am struggling with the fact that as a reputed Billionaire - he is wanting his loans paid in full OR ELSE. The sad fact is - that as covered before in my post and many others. Those that are interested in signing up to the Well Society and then providing a monthly direct debit are generally also buying a season ticket or 2/3/4 and buying merchandise, matchday programmes, food, hospitality etc. It is the same people giving over and over and a hell of a lot more than Les as a % of their net worth. What I have given to the Well Society is the equivalent of Les giving over £20-£50m. It is the same for many. The reality is that those who can afford to and even those who cannot have and are giving. You can only go the WELL (pardon the pun) so many times.....

And why Hearts, Aberdeen, Hibs + United had sore necks looking up at us for 3 seasons.
-
Flow explained clearly on Twitter. We always required and targeted 5 strikers as we had last season. The point he made clearly is that the Manager knows the priorities but getting players in - in order of priority rarely happens. We wanted Robinson and so did other clubs in Scotland and England, so we were hardly going to wait until we got another central midfielder .
-
Kennedy for me. So much more assured than Laing. Dom did well also and again Moult put himself about and gave 100% Barra says his offside goal was onside. Thought it was close at the time, but friend in the East stand said he was offside. Will wait to see highlights.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3215143/Motherwell-fan-ownership-proposal-jeopardy-unless-supporters-sign-warns-Les-Hutchison.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Interesting and concerning in equal measure Only 360 signed up to direct debit - so only 20% of target. Since we only ever had 1000 members and not all were adult members - 2000 adult members seems overly ambitious. It is a challenge for most in this day and age to buy both a season ticket, merchandise, hospitality AND sign up for the Well Society. I signed up initially to one of the top packages and made a significant commitment to the club, fully aware that the money would be used up. My beef is that initially it was run quite well and the after Leanne left the momentum was lost. That and some of the original benefits were never forthcoming. That in itself was not an issue just another example where you set expectations and all too often with Motherwell, they fall well short and hardly encourage you to follow up with additional commitments. I am a broken record, but based purely on my experiences on the commercial side and the above I would have walked away a long time ago were it not for my passion for the club. I am sure the same could be said of many many others. No doubt I will commit to direct debit at some point. But if the club are to get anywhere near the numbers required they simply have to up their game, communicate better and most of all follow up and stay on top of ongoing commitments that membership to the Well Society offers. Past history suggests that will be very difficult to achieve. Back to Hutchisons comments - he must have gone into this knowing the to achieve 2000 would be a tall order. I am sure we are all very grateful for him coming in at the time he did and providing much needed finance and support. Without him we would be in right pickle, but I find his warnings of what may happen in the future a little annoying. I am sure most of it is done to make all on here aware of the situation and to do his utmost to get people to sign up. Not sure it is the correct strategy. Time will tell.
-
I would go with the above also, the only possible exception is Kennedy in for Laing or even at right back. That said Killie are likely to launch balls into the box and Laing is at least decent in the air. Would be disappointed to see Law at RB, but not surprised. Moult deserves to keep his place with Robinson to come on towards the end and get a hat trick. That said he scored 9 goals in 72 games with Doncaster. So hardly prolific. Time will tell.

Clarkson was / is a strange one. An ex player that we all have an affinity with, but based on midweek he is out of his depth at this level. He looked unfit and added nothing to the game. I suspect this chap will mean we will likely not see Clarky in 1st team again, even this early on in the season. Wonder if they may try to move him on. I like Moult and Fletcher looked OK in his brief start to the season. If the guy comes in and bangs in the goals - then great, but like others I feel our need is greater in midfield and right back....
