  1. Name is on the cup this season to be sure.... Morton away is the obvious connection to our last cup win Home tie may have been better, but possibly the easiest draw apart from Raith or Livvy. At least we avoided Hibs, Hearts and The Currant Buns I am away 23rd - so hoepfully be the 22nd and I will head through.
  2. Just back. That was painful and much worse than Aberdeen game. The 1st 80 minutes were as woeful as the 2nd half on Saturday. Players could not pass 5 yards to one another. Law and Laing were frighteningly bad against 3rd division players. Laing is a good defender of balls in the air, but on the deck he gets taken to the cleaners time and again. Bringing on Thomas and Skippy turned the game in our favour and how. By the end of ET we could have scored another 4. I worry for the future based on tonight. I would like to see Watt in for Law, Kennedy for Laing and Dom for Marvin. We got through but I am not convinced that Barra will survive. I hope I am wrong as I have nothing against him.
  3. Not long back. It was/a bizarre game. For the 1st 40 minutes we were by far the better side. Scored one and created numerous chances. They came into it last 5 minutes and Ripley made 2 good saves to keep us at 1-0. Hammell was subbed at HT injured although not sure that had much bearing as Chalmers was OK. The performance 2nd half was appalling. As good as we were 1st half we were abject 2nd half. No fight, no direction and strange substitutions. Taylor looks like a terrible signing and why when he was already on a yellow was he not subbed for Le itch was baffling. We are weak in midfield and week at right back. Recipe for disaster. The amount of space and crosses they had was embarrassing. I really like O Halloran. Wish to god he played for us. I would give pass marks for Laing, Lasley, Ainsworth and Moult. Skippy and Johnson continue there brief spells of tidy play with general rubbish. Edit to add - the ref Thompson is a grade a wankstain. At least 3 similar fouls where our players got yellow and they did not including a carbon copy of Taylor's 1st yellow for preventing a quick free kick. After Aberdeen and United that was a step back, due largely to the 2nd half performance. Look like conceding 2 or more goals in every game. Not good and we are already in a relegation battle
  4. I actually think shifting nearly 500 tickets so far for opening league cup tie away is pretty decent effort. I am looking forward to visiting a ground I have never been too. I am sure by the time KO comes around there will be another hundred or so sold. Not often we (probably) outnumber the home support..
  5. I may be wrong but I suspect the club would confirm there was a sell on clause - if there was one. If not - then I suspect there was not one, which would be a disappointment. £2m FFS - Depending on what and where you read, we got anything from £150k to £300k when he left.
  6. Well that is quite telling. Not won a game without him and nearly 6 in 10 with him in the side. Makes his tackle / injury in our very 1st league game/all the more disappointing. Only been 2 games in but Taylor has not shown too much yet given his supposed pedigree. I am in 2 minds about Laing. He has the makings of a decent defender but was involved in the loss of both goals yesterday. His sauntering languid style can be misleading. Would like to see Kennedy and what he can offer.
  7. Actually we deserved a draw like last weekend. Aberdeen better side by some distance in the 1st half. 2nd half we gave as good as we got. Stupid 2nd goal and again come away with nothing. I also note Steel boy back to his usual crap. Moult was by far our best player. Wonder if you know fuck all about football We cannot keep gifting soft goals, but we are looking better than last season. Usual moaning faced gits on here. Makes my eyes BLEED
  8. Edit to add - how Laing got any votes is a mystery. Allowed McGinn to get his cross in for the goal. Bundled into our goalkeeper and did not mark Taylor into the bargain for their second. Maybe it is his style but he saunters around when a bit more urgency is needed. Let's see what Kennedy can offer
  9. Moult was by far the best player today. Was really impressed. Got his head to everything apart from the 3 yard header miss
  10. Looking for attention ALARM
  11. Absolutely this. Time and again if there is a way to fuck it up they will find it. My season ticket did not arrive. Phone the club few days before the United game. Terribly sorry - we will post it out to you. Never arrived. Went to ticket office before game and it was there for collection. People will no doubt say the usual guff. They are limited in resource. They get paid peanuts. I am responsible for my companies clients. All of them! We lose business even when the service is good. Does my nut in. Were it any other business - I would have gone a long time ago. Seriously how difficult must it be to get an Admin Manager in their to sort it out. I would literally almost prefer that to a star player. Rant over
  12. I was expecting a draw at Inverness and a draw at home v United and then possibly a draw at Tynie before a home defeat to Aberdeen. So we still have the 3 points and I still expect Aberdeen to turn us over this weekend. My concern is that we have scored 1 goal in 3 games and despite creating chances we look like we are going to struggle to score. Fletcher looks OK but is injury prone and Moult has shown little apart from a solitary strike v Preston. Early days I know but I have started already to revise my expectations to avoid bottom 2 spots this season.
  13. So after yesterday Dave you now have us in the bottom 3 ? I actually thought we did OK. Not brilliant but no worse than a United side you have in 5th. IMHO I think we will finish 8th - above Thistle, Accies, Kilmarnock and A N other.
  14. I think a draw was on the cards and would have been a fair outcome. Riley made a couple of very good saves and United came onto a game after we failed to turn our early dominance into anything concrete. Laing for the most part had a very good game, but his one mistake cost us the game. We are much weaker without Pearson and Leitch has the look of Cars well. Hopefully he can prove me wrong, but I suspect our search for a midfielder backs this up. We got to the final 3rd so many times today and the final ball or cross was just poor. Even when Don came on. It gave us a new impetus, but at least 2-3 times having beaten his man the ball trundled into the box or straight to a United defender. Sadly I did think what Erwin would have done with some of those chances and space just outside the box..... Disappointed but probably would have been happy with 2 draws to start the season. We have one more point. 2 tough games coming up. If we can win one or not lose both it will show we have come a long way.
  15. Or more like we did not want them to continue but that is the way it ended up. Probably for less money hence less exposure.
  16. All this confidence gives me the fear. Dundee United will be a much tougher prospect than Inverness. Even when we were finishind 2nd & 3rd, they regularly gave us humpings. They have lost their 3 best players, but I think this will be tougher than many are predicting. Expect a score draw, but would prefer a narrow victory.
  17. Probably Ayr United. Would "Wee Moorey" be unable to play if we drew them out of that hat
  18. Agreed. If Pearson is out long term then I believe we need to focus on bringing in a midfielder or 2 rather than another goalie. Hope the rumour on Pearson injury is just a rumour. I was not at the match but one of my Pals tells me he did not go off straight away which would seem strange if he was to be out for up to 4 months.
  19. On the BBC that we are concerned that Pearo has a serious knee injury. He is a combatative midfielder, but the tackle he put in has left their player with a broken ankle and himself with a potentially lengthy lay off. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but did he need to make such a challenge in that part of the park.....
  20. Not getting carried away, but if Marv played for Feyenoord he would be worth £30,000,000. We should expect a bid for £32,076. I know he is not that good, but point made.......
  21. Glad we never had to pay the barstewards after all
  22. Shame - would have liked him at us. Roy McGregor splashing the cash. Similar to Pearson but more of a goal threat from what I saw last year. Hopefully other irons in the fire as it were........
  23. PNE a middling SPFL team. WTF. They pissed all over the league one play offs. That team would run Celtic close for the title. No doubt they took the foot of the gas 2nd half. That said we did create many good chances and their goalie was MOM. Marvellous Marvin looked in the mood. Most players had a decent game. Skippy did not. Probably still not match fit. Liked the look of Watt. also Ted took his goal well.
  24. Tough game in prospect tonight. PNE not conceded in last 7 games I am sure I read. Also planning on playing 1st choice strikeforce including Jermain Beckford. They skooshed the League 1 play offs. Will be a proper assessment of where we are as the season is a little over a week away. Looking forward to the game tonight. Hope we play in our 1st team strip
  25. This. Chose to fight it out for No 1 spot at Killie rather than come to Motherwell as No 1. Probably had more to do with what was on the table, but seemed bizarre at the time. He did get in the Scotland squad albeit 3rd choice, but cannot be as bad as everyone is making out for that to happen. We just want a keeper that can command his box and does not have us with our heads in hands at every dead ball. Is that too much to ask. It would appear so..
