I am with this. Never been to Palmerston Park. If I thought we would be back up within a couple of years I would not be overly bothered by relegation. It probably helps that we have so many players out of contract.
-
I seem to recall Van der Gaag was on someone twitter
-
Not so for his missus, who by all accounts is a bit of a looker. For me I would take him back as we cannot afford to be too picky these days, assuming that is he can still play a bit. If so it would out him ahead of 10 others at the moment.

This. The weather is howfing and I am not sure the pitch can take the rain and snowfall we have had / are having... Would not be ideal as with United and Celtic away this game represents the best chance (I say best) of getting any points out of the next 3 games.

I will tell u what. That is the biggest insult since 10,000 BC. What we need is the current players to watch the last game of last season and the 6-6 game v Hibs. Then they ,right realise what the fuck it is to b a Motherwell fan Turn up and play. Seems a prerequisite to be decent football plyer,. I give uo

Tell me what the lottery numbers are then. Cos I could not see such a rapid and marked decline from 2nd best team 2 years in a row. We only lost 2-3 players. I thought we would finish below Celtic, Aberdeen and United, but still be competing for top 6. No I never saw this wholesale collapse coming which makes it all the harder to take

Agreed. One player I would have been praying he stayed a few weeks back. But now. If it releases a wage to bring in some freshness. Ta Ta OJ.

I am normally one to give the benefit of the doubt to a new Manager, but so far the evidence suggests that the team has got worse. At the very least we should have been as poor as before but nof fkin worse !!! I agree with one of the posters above. He should be making us harder to beat. I would not have started Ainsworth given the sh1te he served up v Aberdeen. Pack the midfield, keep it tight and then look to gamble as the game nears the end. I think he has been naive and to willing to believe this shower of sh1t are up to much. I know he has too keep them onside, but some home truths are required..

Unlikely to have a immediate turnaround, but you would hope to see improvements. On the face of it that is not a bad team on paper. But we are being overrun in midfield game after game and have a at best average defence that is struggling to cope. By the sound of things Twardzik is doing his best but when you are faced with a shot every 3 to 4 minutes something is going to give.

Probably just in time to hear Dundee getting their 3rd goal

After the Aberdeen game I would not have Ainsworth anywhere near the team. I was a fan and we all know what he is capable of when he can be arsed. The problem is he cannae be arsed as evidenced on Sunday. I watched him from the Cooper 2nd half and he did the best impression of a dummy I have seen. At throw ins he stood still. When through balls were played he stood still. No fkin excuse for it.

Absolutely this. I decided in the summer to go to home games only and give more money to the club. Hence I missed the debacle from yesterday, but after the loss to Albion Rovers I have vowed not to pay to watch football on a plastic pitch. We will probably all end up with one in the future, but the ball bounces all over the place and the home side has a huge advantage in that they train and play on it most days. Will go to all the home games though, even those on TV. Will not abandon the team even if some of the players deserve little support. Need to get behind the team and ensure we stay in this league, so we can rebuild in the summer.

I see O'Brien has been yellow carded as well. Alan Muir is a god awful referee. Very much doubt O'Brien will last the 90 minutes. Depressing that we have faded towards the end of the 1st half even with a mans advantage !!!! I say faded, not sure we were that dominant.

It is just you Sinjy. Nothing I saw or heard in Las interview was at all wary or negative.
-
More likely it smacks of appointing someone who is prepared to work under the budget constraints that are around the corner and a salary that might not have appealed to either Butcher or Van Der Gaag. There is also the small matter of having an entire squad out of contract in the summer and if he is/was a scout in England then he must have a sh1tload of info on players that would fit in at Motherwell like Gannon before. Just maybe not as much of a headcase.

Fair point Superward. But based on past performance from Managers from league of Ireland. I will judge him like most on how he does in the job. We all hope it is an inspired choice, but most were expectingand believed VDG was the man. Would not surprise me if he was but we could not agree terms or maybe we did only offer the job to Ian Baraclough...
-
Will support him if that is the choice, but admit to being underwhelmed. We need a strong character to kick some backsides and a fresh look at every area including training. Has the feel of Pat Fenlon or Stephen Kenny, but hope this proves the exception. We shall see...

The Next Manager, Who Would You Want And Who Could We Get

Wow - this is fun... Van der Gaag turn us down also? How else would that explain Rob McKinnon tweeting he was the new manager. Would have been happy with VDG. We shall see - I hope sometime this year.. -

Mixed feelings about Butcher. I would not have been unhappy to see him back minus Malp1sh of course. Perhaps as mentioned the stumbling block. At this rate it will be Kenny Black till the end of the season -

He took a shite side and to be fair made them even shitier We don't have that many great options. Hoping for another left field appointment, but imho Butcher would still represent less of a risk than 2 ex players that have by the look of things questionable managerial success. I like Terry but Malpish less so.. Will have to wait and see -

I was upset when Butcher left us. He built a good team at Inverness. OK with Steve Marsella help, but with our wage budget next year we could do worse than try to replicate that route to success. Surprisingly Yogi Hughes has taken it on another level. I would not be overly upset if that came to pass. As long as it was a 1.5 yr contract or contract to end of year with renewal if we avoid relegation. I am sure a clause will be in their for whomever we get in -
The last 2 posts are linked. In that Watson did what ZFA should have done. Watson put Sutton under enough pressure and body checked him enough so that Sutton missed. ZFA stood like a Zombie waiting for the ball to come to him and obviously had no awareness of Watson. Rank bad defending and just all round poor football.
-
True on both points. The home crowd was depressing, yet was more than Dundee had at home and more than the 3 (total) attendances at the other all SPL sides. For a big guy Sutton loses his marker all too often and IT does cost us goals a LOT. Thought it was a big improvement, certainly in the 1st half. All players deserve praise for their efforts in the 1st half. That said Law missed a sitter. As for their 2nd. what the f#ck ZFA. That defending or distinct lack of it is/was criminal. Well played Dan - MOTM. Kept us in it Disappointed not to see Ainsworth come on. Yes he can be poor, but we know he can score and set up goals and that was what we needed when it was 1-1 and 1-2

I am not aware of what he is guilty of. If he is an out and out racist along the lines of the National Front then no I would not want him at the club. If he is guilty of sending offensive texts he felt no-one else would see, then he is stupid. Everyone is so quick to get offended these days. I call my pal fat or ugly and he calls me short and an asshole - should we involve the police. -

You never know. He has sinned and could see a re-birth at Motherwell. He would normally be out of our league, but he knows Scottish football so would probably know what wages were on offer. Prefer him to Adams.
