  1. Totally agree. If it was the FA the fixtures would have been announced a week ago! The SPFL are fairly inept truth be told. So this delay should come as no surprise. I would imagine that our fixtures v Celtic, Aberdeen and United will be televised. So none will be at 3pm on a Saturday. I can see our last game being a home tie v Dundee United. The only 3pm KO on a Saturday will likely be Inverness away !!!
  2. Tough game in prospect. If they win they will only be 2 points behind United which is incentive enough. Yesterday was coming from the last few games. Still think a draw was fair, but we have struggled to defend from midfield and Angol and Ainsworth if they are not attacking offer little cover to the full backs. Hope Faddy is fit as he gives other teams something to think about and we are a better team with him in the side. I felt against Ross County the game turned when he was subbed. A bit like the Hibs game away. With United playing Celtic this weekend it is another opportunity over the next 2 games to give us a bit of a better margin come the split. Knowing our luck they will beat Celtic, but if not a couple of wins would see us with a nine point margin. After yesterday I cannot see us winning both games, hopefully we won't lose the two games. I think 2 drawsor a win and a draw will be the likely outcome. Now is the time for the boys to stand up and be counted. If Ainsworth is not fit don't play him - if both Angol and Ainsworth are playing they NEED to be told to give 100% These next two games could well define our season, so no lack lustre St Johnston type performance please....
  3. I blame the wee Baldy ref cnut. Goal was scored 5 mins and 25 seconds into injury time. There were 5 minutes of injury time. Why could we no have had the same ref at the Arsenal v Swansea game, who blew the whistle after the Swansea boy was clean through on goal. Jesting of course or am I :-(
  4. That is harsh. I thought he was by some distance our best player today, not that there was much competition. There were many more people to blame going back to some of the poor passing leading up to the Kill ie break which led to their goal. If you are looking to passengers. Our wingers were very poor today. I was a fan of Zaine, but you would be hard pushed to see a more inept display. Ran around doing very little and chasing thin air. He got the Kill ie defender booked, but that apart he was a complete waste of a jersey. Sore one to take, but it is the Mother well way. Things were progressing too well that a kick in the teeth was just around the corner. Still I would take 3 points ahead of United with a game in hand at this stage in the season. We need to take 4 points in the next 2 games and hope Celtic beat united next weekend. That happens we will be 7 points ahead going into the split. Probably the best we can hope for. I think after today 3rd is as good as we will get. Aberdeen are not likely to turn in such a timid performance.
  5. And with us due a home game v Celtic. Quite sure after the events at the last game inside and outside the ground - the police would have a big say when that game is played. I suspect they will go for a Sunday or Saturday at 12.15 or something similar. Would be v surprised if that was a later KO.
  6. Well that narrows it down a little FFS - why so bloody long and so vague!!!
  7. What matters is how many wins we have, how many points we gain. Overly fussy by some on here - the usual suspect/s of course to expect we should be sitting 1 point off second playing teams of the park with no goals conceded on our budget. GET FUCKInG REAL !!!!
  8. We all think that or perhaps thought that. If this team finishes 2nd again on more points with more wins against a stronger Aberdeen and United, it may well be time to re-appraise that view.
  9. Agreed, but instead of 6500 they may bring 3-4000. Still more than any other side and probably any 3 other home games combined...
  10. I expect a home game for the last game of the season. Otherwise we will have had the 1st and last games of the past two seasons away from home. IIRC the split was decided at the last possible moment with United scoring an injury time goal to secure their status? No need to wait any later than early next week. Allow fans the opportunity to plan which matches they can and will attend. Every penny is a prisoner. One of the by products of 18 wins so far is the club having to pay out morew win bonuses than probably anticipated. We NEED a home game v Celtic. We are 7 points ahead of United. They still have to play ICT, Aberdeen and Celtic. 2 of these games v ICT and Aberdeen will work for us whatever the outcome. 2 draws would be just fine. I expect United to beat Caley, and draw with Aberdeen and Celtic. So 5 points, possibly only 4 would mean that as long as we take similar points from our last 3 games would see us maintain, possibly increase the gap of 7 points on United
  11. We need the income another home game v Celtic will bring. The league will be won, so would expect less of their fans to attend, but still 4000 fans would be more than the away crowds for 3 other games put together. Expect to be away to Aberdeen which is fair, but also would expect home game v United who are still likely to be our closest challengers for 3rd. That would mean another away game at ICT or St Johnstone. Would rather St Johnstone e as easier to travel too.
  12. Vigurs taking the piss in the second half down at the corner flag was worth the admission alone. Reminded me of the late great David Cooper.
  13. I think Reid has done enough and shown enough to be considered for a deal. I thought he had a great game today. No nonsense defending. Is he better than Kerr or Ramsden. Kerr probably has not had enough game time, but I would say he is as good as. Ramsden I like but is certainly injury prone and may be better cover for central defence.
  14. Our front 4 are all very capable and skillful players, which is why we have been scoring 2 or more goals in recent SPFL matches. Ainsworth is so clinical. Almost all his shots are on target and make the goalie make a save. 9 goals and looks like he will score every game at the moment. Vigurs range of passing is quite possibly the best in the league. Sure it does not come off all the time, but again he usually does find his man. Another sublime pass to Faddy around 55 minutes - was 30 yards forwards over the defender right to Faddy feet, which is all the more impressive as both the defender and Faddy were running. Faddy end product was not there last night but again his lead up play and ability to get into goalscoring positions from nothing was enjoyable to see on BBC Alba. Sutton - quality poacher - 18 goals with 9 games to play is better return than most on here thought we would see. All in all very exciting and that is not mentioning Anier or Craig Moore.
  15. Watching BBC Alba now. That might well be the case. But if you are mildly disappointed at a home win, 3 points and a rare clean sheet....well....
  16. For some reason I cannot see the shout box when I use my tablet....
  17. I am stuck up near Fort William. Delighted with the result tonight. And a clean sheet - OMG Is this the 1st match thread ever on this site where no-one has posted during the game??
  18. Ouch... I think we all feel that watching an average Aberdeen side win silverware and potentially 2 trophies is frustrating given our consistent league form. McCall is saying what most of us are feeling. I had no axe to grind with Aberdeen FC at all before they poached 2 of our managers. As it happens it worked out better for us, but we were not to know that at the time. Now I would have jumped for joy if Caley hac won the game/penalties. Not bitter just how I feel.
  19. For me it is summed up when I travelled to see Motherwell play My pa 47 in Finland. We had played 4 times in Europe since 1991, so 3-4 years. At that time I was in my early 20's and was looking forward to the next year in Europe and the excitement of where that would take us. WELL most on here will know the answer is it took us a whole 13 years before we played again in Europe with Nancy in France. So I do not take qualifying for Europe for granted and after missing our on travelling to Russia last year am desperate for another trip this year. The reality is that Rangers will back in the top league soon enough and with Aberdeen, United and probably a stronger Hearts and Hibs we could well go on another prolonged run without European football. Every game is a cup final between now and end of the season. I hope the players treat it like that. Could do with maintaining a 2 wins gap over United and possibly ICT as we go into the split.
  20. Sure have after that horrible evening when we lost Aberdeen beat Celtic and ICT won. Expect United to pick up 3 points on Saturday though. If we can keep the gap or increase it on both ICT and United by the time of the split - I would more than fancy chances of Europe.
  21. Surely not.....if so he is a f#ckin jinx....fit for 2 games out for 10 and so on...shame if true.... The thought of Neilsen back in goals gives me the fear. Hope we will be allowed an emergency loan
  22. We would have had an unbroken appearance record in Europe in the last 5-6 years, were it not for Celtic losing to Ross County 2-3 years ago in the Sc Cup semi. For that reason and until the Cup semis are played we need to focus on no lower than 3rd, which I am sure we are. Knowing our luck the one time St Johnstone will beat Aberdeen will be when we dont want them too.....
  23. Have not seen the highlights but at the game I thought there was one maybe 2 handballs before their 1st goal. And yes the ball was out before their corner, but the lines man missed it - how I am not sure.
  24. We are conceding far too many goals at the moment and ultimately that could be our undoing in the race for Europe. Whilst the goalies could be blamed for a handful the truth lies in what Dave has stated above. At times there is little or no cover from midfield. Yesterday as an example. Every time hibs attacked down our flanks they had two on one which men at that virtually every time they got a cross in to our box. At times they were able to do this under no pressure whatsoever. Hibs could have and probably should have scored more goals but for poor crosses. Vigursand Ainsworth are very skillful players and either score or assist in many games, but their defensive cover for the full backs is non existent. Honestly i am not sure what the solution is.
  25. True dat but the ball was over the line before the corner, but lines man fucked up. I knew at that point that a goal would come of it. Not sure how I feel after that. Hibs started the brighter but from our goal to their goal we were comfortable and only looked one winner. As soon as they got the goal back I knew they would come out second half with a spring in their step. We seemed to weather the early pressure and could have scored again. Faddy had a couple of chances. Then - how many goals do we concede from corners or crosses. A lot would be my guess. Another game and another 3 goals shipped. Baffled by the subs. Can only assume that both Faddy or Ainsworth injured or tired. Sent the message we were going to protect a 2-1 lead. Both those players are luxury players but they hold on to the ball and take the pressure off the defence. When they went off it was backs to the wall. It says a lot I am disappointed with a draw at Easter Road, but let's face it they have been guff recently, do a chance missed for sure..
