  1. There is a saying about tempting fate..... Compared to us Albion Rovers were supposed to be a disaster of a football team. I hope they do but I believe that Hibs will not play as badly as they did against Dundee United. I am expecting a game more like the opening game of the season, settled by the odd goal.
  2. I think it is more to do with our 4 or 500 fans making more noise than their 8-9000. That is the real reason behind it. Hopefully the Motherwell players can use this as an extra boost to their performance. Nothing to do with getting into Europe - just "they banned our bois drum - get intae them"
  3. They have St Mirren and St Johnstone at Tannadice in their next 2 games. The way they have been playing that is 6 points in the bag.. I agree they may drop points when they come to play Aberdeen and Celtic and on the face of it they have a more difficult run in b4 the split than we do. Celtic will have won the title before then and will probably play kids against them. Would like to maintain the current gap as a minimum for after the split. Not discounting ICT I might add...
  4. Not always a guarantee of 3 points being better than the other team. If we can play like we did on Saturday then I would be hopeful of 3 points. We need to keep winning as I can see United continuing on another long winning run. Heading along to this one so let's hope Hibs are as poor as they were on Friday night.
  5. Had hospitality today and that result just tops of a great day. Was worried as I thought we we in poor form and they we're playing OK. A lot more comfortable in the end. Best performance of the season by Faddy absolutely ran the show. 14 wins from 14 v bottom 6. Fantastic. Shame we need to play the top 6 now...
  6. Also on Alba later. Expecting a very tough game. Hopefully we can stop the rot from setting in
  7. Spot on Weeyin The last 2 weeks have been very disappointing, but we have the same or more points total as last season with 4 games less played. Only Motherwell fans could moan at that situation, especially as I along with everyone else on here felt last seasons team were one of our best in recent years..
  8. I would agree with that Steel boy and I am quite sure it was not lost on Leanne and the Board. McCall is not in charge of youth development and we have woefully under performed here in recent years. I like most would like to have seen more youth players blooded in the 1st team, but it is hard to argue with McCalls record in the league given our resources.
  9. Yet here we are sitting 3rd with more points than it took last seasons team to achieve in 30 games. With hindsight your argument is spot on Steel boy, but to a man who on here was disappointed when we signed Faddy for this season? He did well last season and McCall would likely think he would be in a position to replicate that. Same goes for Lawson and Vigurs, both performing well in a decent Ross County team. Ainsworth has scored a number of crucial goals and was outstanding in the home game v St Johnston, so we know he has that in his locker. Fact is we are struggling with squad depth, players playing with injuries and a goalkeeper that is proving a liability. It is a perfect storm and has been our undoing the last 2 games. We have 4 home games from 5 coming up in March that will make or break our season. We need to hope the players shake injuries, find their form and we can hopefully kick on. Right now I am nor sure which way it will go.
  10. Just noticed we have 4 of our next 5 games at home. We need it - another 3 goals shipped tonight...
  11. What is the situation. As you see it Brazilian. We have done well this season and I would happily take where we are in the league ll things considered but... We now seem incapable of not conceding a minimum 2 or 3 goals in every game. Our only fit goalie keeps palming shots into the middle of the goalmouth whereupon the opposing strikers tap the ball into the empty net. Oh and we have yet again conceded from a routine cross. As things stand we are making it very difficult to get that top 3 place with Inverness and United closing with each passing week. A bit of a downer really..
  12. A week is a long time in Football but I bloody well hope this is a blip and not a Dundee United style slump for 5 or 6 games. A goal coming from a spill by the goalie and a free header in the middle of the box. Is it me or is it groundhog day.....
  13. As it stands ICT are 3 points behind us with a game in hand. Long way to go tonight, but we risk undoing all the good work over Xmas and New Year. From what I gather Gunnar did not cover himself in glory again.
  14. Bollox. We will win and leapfrog the Dons into second. Have faith
  15. Faddy has not performed as well as we had he would have hoped. That said I think the last half a dozen games he has been decent and he has set up a good few goals as well as scoring a couple. Hardly worthy of the overwhelmingly negative view you have Steelboy.
  16. Agreed and said as much watching it. He had time to close the player down but moved so far to the left of his goal it was like an invitation. But Hutchy was the real culprit. Neilson I thought did OK this evening and there were many candidates for worse player of the match.
  17. Well he is 20 years younger than me. So a young lad. The haircut is a bit misleading. Thought he did OK when he came on. Made no mistakes. Would start him in right back on Tuesday night.
  18. Also thought t the young lad Reid did OK when he came on
  19. Plus the fact we have played 3 of the top sides around us in Celtic, United and Aberdeen, whilst they still have to play one another. Second half was better but we gave away a couple of stupid goals. Need to get back on track on Tuesday and at least pick up a point. Mon Thistle.
  20. OK I apologise for the swearing. Unnecessary. But tired of people picking on the goalie when he is not always to blame. If you get upset about that to the extent you will not come on this board. Then probably better you stay away. Poor sensitive soul.
  21. At least we are battling more in the last 15 mins than the whole 1st half
  22. Bollox - who is not fit. Dundee united are difficult enough to play against when you are not playing kids. As it happens both Lasley and Cars well declared themselves fit.
  23. Dundee United deserve to be winning but they have carried some luck. We could have had a foul for the 2nd and a penalty. As for the 3rd - hits McFadden in the hand and goes in off the post. You know it is not going to be your night when that happens . As for blaming Neilson- fuck off - not much he could do about it.
  24. You could at least wait for the normal culprits to appear before you criticise them Talk on here is if we are playing away at Parkhead FFS I will still take a point but we may just be surprised..
  25. That is quite illuminating. So the club paid bonuses to players agreed in the summer and based on a payout of £2.6m, but because of redistribution of league income that became £1.7m - £900k less than anticipated. Perhaps they were contractually obliged too, but I am surprised the loss was less than £200k in this scenario. It would suggest that unsurprisingly we were the hardest hit in terms of redistribution of income. Of course in January we never knew we would finish second.
