  1. I would expect there to be one. Been relatively dry here in Edinburgh, but I note that it is forecast to rain almost all the time up to KO through in the west around Mother well.
  2. That's as maybe. But at least the quality should be a damn sight better than the Puma tops which is low grade prison material...
  3. There are a few on here that would not want Petr Cech because he wears a silly hat..... Twardzik - too wee to be considered a long term solution
  4. The other missing info I would like to see is our participation in Europe since McCall came on board.
  5. They are second for a reason, but they have not played that well in their last few games, even when they beat Hibs 1-0. As long as we play to our capabilities then I am confident we will not lose. Hope a few extra fans turn up. Ours that is as i expect them to bring a decent crowd of 1500+.
  6. Would need to see the penalty on better definition that MFC TV. But it looks like Stokes falls 'over 3 hours after any contact is made if any. We seem to have played better than previous visits, but we still seem so meek at Porkheid. After the Stokes red card a few of the Celtic players have a go at the decision including that Baldy cnut Brown. I would be telling him and his fellow players to do one. Anyway we move on after one of many disappointing results at the tattie bowl.
  7. That is Celtic out the way for us anyway. No ground lost on Aberdeen and United. Even Hibs lost and St J picked up only the one point. All in all it could have been a lot worse. Don't like losing but hardly surprising. Celtic scored 3 goals today, but so did Ross County, St Mirren FFs....... We move on - BIG game next week.
  8. I tend to agree with McCall on this one. Just attack and go for it is the plea for fans. The upshot of such a tactic is we could be 4-0 down in 30 minutes. I know many will say - what does it matter, when we go all defensive we still lose. Sure but I still think it is better to adopt a tactic that keeps the game as tight as possible for as long as possible. Sadly I will go all MJC here and predict a comfortable win for Celtic, since they have been rested. 4-0 for the beggarz :-(
  9. The German teams can subsidize their gate prices. I am sure Motherwell could charge a Tenner if we got 40m Euros from TV
  10. Lots of people including Hearts fans are taking us at -1 & -2. Myself included. That usually means that it will be a draw or a 1-0 win, which under normal circumstances I would be happy with.
  11. Time to move on regarding Clancy. He left us for more money after we resurrected his career. He was perfectly entitled to do so, but I would not take him on again.
  12. Unnecessary but hardly surprising. There is probably NO support in world football who do not moan and look to blame all and sundry when results are poor. What would be refreshing is if some fans of Motherwell could balance a few bad results with the good results over the past 3 seasons with McCall. This latest run shows that in McCall we have a good Manager who the players respect. We will no doubt hit a bad run before the end of the season and the usual suspects will post their informed views of how we could be doing better with another Manager.
  13. Fair point. The weather has been a bugger and according to main site, 6 times as much rainfall in past 20 days than you would normally expect in a month!! At least the pitch will be protected a little now there is no game scheduled for around 3 weeks. Of course by then the snow will be falling :-) :-)
  14. Although perhaps there is an element of truth.... As stated my biggest concern is that it disrupts the momentum we had built up + they are missing Foran and one or two other influential players. IMHO it would have been a good time to play them.
  15. With all this rain forecast. I take it we no longer have covers for the pitch ?????
  16. Diggle is spot on.... Hollis did little wrong before he got injured and whilst Neilson has not been as good has hoped he is hardly a bombscare in the Fraser mould. Twardzik did very well for us - but money is tight and I would rather it was aimed at Ainsworth.. We can go back in for Twardzik when his contract is up. Might even be able to sign him on a pre-contract at some point...
  17. I am sorry but that is utter bollox. You and a few others on here would be on suicide watch if we had the same results as St Mirren the last 5 or so years. We would all like to win Silverware but I would not swap sustained success in the league for a cup win once in 20-30 years like St Mirren. Motherwell FC have been the 3rd best team in the top flight the last 10 years. On our budget that is the best we could have achieved and better than we dared to expect. If you are still negative after that then I and many others on here give up.
  18. I never wanted to see suttom leave in the 1st place and it is immensely pleasing to see him perfroming as if he was never away. His style is often awkward but the fact is that give him chance and he will stick them away more often than not. Delighted with the performance yesterday. It was a hugely enjoyable game and St Johnstone did their bit. I would also like to see the McManus chance again. It says something that the whole crowd celebrated a goal, but tellingly the players themselves never complained too much. Hopefully sportscene will clarify it, although I doubt it as they will have a 30 minute chugfest over Aberdeen v United. Like all who were at the game I wish more fans would turn up. We KNOW they are out there, but the last 2 games have been scintillating stuff. The ICT game is a 12:45 KO and live on Sky. Would love there to be over 5000 there but doubt we will break 4000 once again. Any wonder we cannot afford to keep Twardzik, even if Dundee were prepared to let him go.. Let's hope we can keep it up on Saturday against ICT.
  19. Now that we are out of the cup - it is a fairly obvious answer to the Q - can we afford to pay 3 goalkeepers? EH NO...
  20. After thinking about it - they should have made an official announcement given they advertised the raffle extensively on the website etc. Even if whoever won wanted a few days to tells his mates or whomever else was getting invited. I accept staff are paid a pittance in most cases, but a week has passed since the draw was made....
  21. It is the Motherwell way to win when we least expect it and lose when we most expect to win. My fear is that Thistle have been missing glaring chances for fun - their luck must turn at some point. I still feel confident of getting at least a point hopefully 3, but I would be very surprised if this was anything other than a real battle and we must play as well as we did v St Mirren to get anything. I will go 2-1 for the good guys.
  22. They might - but he will be on a decent wedge with us and made a big play about moving back to the central belt with his wife. Would he really want to head back up to the furthest north.... Seems like a decent lad. Shame it is not working out for him at the moment.
  23. Has always been the way. If we were sitting atop the league we would be lucky to get 4000 home fans. Cost and a general meh to performances are a factor. I noticed that the crowd at Dundee United was over 8000. Not sure if they did a special promotion, but if not.. 4000 more fans than we had yesterday... BAWS
  24. Why even respond to Steel boys posts? You would get more sense from a 95 yr old with dementia.
  25. Be careful for what you wish for. On our budget finding players that are better than An ier and Ainsworth are akin to finding a needle in a haystack. Would not be unhappy for both to stay till end of the season. If anyone thinks we will unearth a Suarez or even an Ojamma are a tad deluded...
