  1. Are you not thinking of the season ticket offers? Unless I have missed something the various benefits attached to ongoing membership of the Well Society are linked to the club, so they would know whether you have renewed your subscription or not.....then again:-)
  2. Well someone is telling porkies. I would have thought Hateley would have been offered a contract. A lot also depends on what goes on behind the scenes. Maybe Hateley and his agent made it clear he was looking to move on, so the club thought there was little point in offering a contract. Now that he has not been inundated with better offers his faither has come out with this nonsense. But as stated before it would suggest from the Well Society thread and other indications that we need to cut our wage bill in order to break even. All these players leaving gives us that opportunity and perhaps that applies to Hateley. Maybe the club feel we could get a lower cost option....
  3. Membership and voting rights may well stay the same, but you will not be entitled to any of the benefits that your level of membership offers, in terms of discounts and free tickets etc.
  4. Imrie gets a hard time on here. Always looked a tricky wee so and so when we played against teams he played for. That said if he is not good enough for St Mirren - he is not good enough for us, other than as a squad player and even then .........
  5. I like this guy Ian Vigurs Talks a lot of sense :-)
  6. The problem for Hearts is they have no real saleable assets. Unless someone bids for them they are rooked. Stevenson must be dlighted at how events are turning out...of course how could he have seen this coming
  7. I think Higgy is off ski, but i don't know why it is taking so long to announce..... Maybe not wanting to get all the bad news out at one time! That said I think we are all resigned, yet excited about building a team. Vigurs and Lawson look to be decent additions. Hopefully we can continue in that vein. I think the club are probably not unhappy as it allows us to re-balance the wage budget - and judging by the loss last year, this is very much needed. Of course the £300k + we got for OJ will also help.
  8. AGREED. Would have liked Wylde to join us. I think that will be a shrewd bit of business by Aberdeen if he signs. I would have been more than happy with Lawson, Vigurs, Wylde and Faddy (staying of course). Those comments about Vigurs - taken from STV site What they've lost: Law was one of the most tireless attacking midfielders in the SPL. Comfortable on the ball, the English midfielder was the main link between attack and midfield, scoring six SPL goals and providing eight assists during the course of the season. With a Power Ranking of 8.39, Law was the 39th most effective attacking player in the SPL last season. Similar replacements: Although not exactly the same player, the most obvious direct replacement would be Iain Vigurs, who saw a move to Oldham fall through. Vigurs was a picture of consistency last season, with strong all-round play and a strong work ethic. He was capable of dictating the pace of attacking play and, like Law, was a potent goal threat. With a total of 21.81, Iain Vigurs was the seventh best attacking threat in the SPL last season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists.
  9. True, but then most people would make an exception if their employees were leaving the company in droves and to try and arrest the situation or get replacements :-) As for us signing someone - more like he may sign but he could still head elsewhere......hardly an exclusive from Scott Burns!!! I am hoping signing Ross County players is better than Dundee United signing 1st division players ...
  10. That is exactly how it feels. The sooner McCall gets back from Croatia the better. I am and was very pleased McCall stayed, but he has a dramatic job on his hands building a squad anywhere near as good as the last one. Here's hoping....
  11. Probably true, but being outbid by St Mirren and Killie is a little depressing... I wonder how much of the wage budget was being cut for this coming season and if OJamma's transfer has any impact on that?
  12. Technically Paton is a mediocre 1st Division player. As for Bolton reject, I think he will be a good signing and someone who could get his careers back on track. OJamma was rejected by Derby.....
  13. Cannot say I have ever heard of the player in Q. Still it does appear as if McCall was keen to bring him onboard. How many players have opted for other SPL clubs only to regret it. Still if we were after Harkins that is 2 players that have turned us down, make it 3 if you include Samson! To sign for DDee Utd, St Mirren and Killie respectively....all clubs that can offer the attraction of playing in Europe......oh wait...... Tbh I am not bothered about any of the above going elsewhere. Greg Wylde on the other hand would be a good bit of business, but it looks from his comments that the Dons are favourites there :-( And the good news is ........
  14. It would have been nice for a wee bidding war, however Poznan had their chance and tried to play cheapskate - so I say f*ck them.

Supposedly Legia Warsaw are interested also. If so hopefully pushes up any transfer fee. Probably still means we will get £19.99
  16. Quite worrying reading between the lines. Despite a successful season we will be trading at a loss. The club mentions how another round in the cup would have possibly led to break even. What about the 2 Euro games that combined brought 15000 paying punters. My ticket for the Pana game was £40! That plus finishing 3rd in the SPL. We are obviously running the club on a budget that is not sustainable and could be quite damaging were we to have a disastrous season. They are a sensible bunch the Board or so it would seem. I guess all these players leaving is no bad thing as it allows them to bring the wage bill into line with what we can afford. It does mean that we cannot offer that attractive a salary to players we are after.

Seems like he has had his head turned by these 2 bids. Poznan just picked up £2.6m for a player, so they can stump up what it takes to prise Henri away. Sadly this incident makes it look as if Henrik is looking to move, which may make them think we would have an unhappy player on our hands should we not sell him. All in all does us no favours. I hope the club keep their ground.
  18. Let's face it. Whoever we sign will be the next big thing or a player who will turn his potential into reality... Those we miss out on will be over the hill wasters or too big a gamble... Not sure we were even in for Harkins but it would be worrying if he chose the paisley junkies over European football. As discussed I prefer the McCall way of signing players over the McGhoo and paw Broon method. That is we tend to hear who we have signed when they have signed. Still at this rate we will require up to 8 to 10 players. A mixture of 1st team and back up.
  19. I think McGowan is a good player and probably one of St Mirrens best players. He stated clearly if he were to leave St Mirren then he would head south. He was never an option for Motherwell.
  20. I know these things take time, but all these players and agents have known for ages they were out of contract end of the season. I understand wanting to give players time in the hope they choose to stay, but there comes a time where (much like with Jenno) we have to move on and focus on new targets
  21. I thought I read on here that Famagusta had been banned from the Europe this year for crowd trouble last year?
  22. I will have a go. People are getting bored because there is no news on who is re-signing, who is signing and who is going. I would expect to hear about all the out of contract players bar Faddy, this week.
  23. If he signs for them the he is a fat overweight waster. If he signs for us he will be one of the best midfielders in Scotland who will fulfil his potential with Mother well..... It is up to him how he wants to be viewed
  24. The Sun is reporting that Harkins is going to turn down a move to Tannadice to join Motherwell. Probably rubbish. I would have mixed feelings. On his day one of the most talented midfielders in the SPL. But as pointed out, these days can be intermittent. That said we often have the ability to get the best out of players.
  25. This is moider - all these players available. We have lost 15000 players and have brought one in. I for one am not panicking......in McCall we trust. Take our time and get the right mix and blend.
