  1. Not having a go Frazzie and I do agree that it was not a great spectacle for watching fans either at FirPark or watching on Sky. For me though what counts is the application and effort of the players. For all their lack of skill at times yesterday I did not feel they were lacking in their efforts to win the game. Many teams will struggle to break down that Hearts defence. Had to laugh at the phrase panty wetters. I would normally associate that phrase with posters that are bemoaning everything that is going wrong at Mother well, not those that are trying to stick up for the players and their efforts this season.
  2. In fact what you originally said was "is the only time there was anything even close to a goal" Either way taking your second post Higdons header in the first was a clear cut chance and decent save IMHO Humphreys cut inside and shot was a clear cut chance and good save Higdon one on one with the goalie, whilst not clear cut goes down as a chance Higdons effort and sclaffed volley on the penalty spot was a chance Your are right I think we will agree to disagree on this occasion
  3. Like others have said I did not think it was a terrible game. As stated in a post above there were half a dozen chances for Motherwell that may have resulted in a goal. Fact is that Hearts are a stuffy side with a strong and capable defence as the stats back up. It was never going to be a thriller. I thought Hutch and Humphrey were very good. Sure Humphrey could have done better at times but he was our main threat and put in 2 or 3 very good crosses. Easy to see why he won the Skyt MOTM. I agree with Finlay - to me the Ross County game away was woeful and much worse than yesterdays game.
  4. THIS sums it up for me. We dominated possession and had 3 times as many chances as Dundee. That is the good part. The bad part is as always seems to be the case, the opposition need to create fewer chances to score. Dundee score with their 1st real attempt at goal and on target Meanwhile we hit the ball straight down the throat of the goalie. Still - I would be more worried if we were not creating chances. We have lost 4 games so far. The only one I feel we clearly deserved to lose was the Celtic game. You could argue strongly that draws v Hearts away and DDee Utd at home would have been deserved and the less said about the officiating at the Hibs game the better. So playing poorly but only a few points off the top 3/4. I do feel as if McCall failed to replace Jennings and Ramsden has not filled the void left by either Clancy or Craigan. When all is said and done what do the fans who support Motherwell really expect. We have been spoiled the past few years and when our home (fans) crowds average less than 4000, we are hardly ever going to be in a position to compete with Aberdeen and Hibs when it comes to squad strength.
  5. Just got home to this sh1te news Our home record yet again is woeful and a complete mirror image to our away form. That said it appears OJ hit the woodwork twice. What does he need to do to score. I have news for you. I am putting a ton on him scoring at the weekend. The guy must have walked under a ladder. Sore one to take, but a win on Saturday and we are back in the mix with winnable games to come over the next month or so. CROSSES THOUGH. We are weak defending them and conversely we need 500 to score 1 goal
  6. AHEM....... Really are some negative buggers on this message board.
  7. Of course I read your post. That team still needs to be managed and i am quite sure if Malpas had been in charge we would not have finished 3rd. So I still disagree with your original post. Reply away, it will make no difference to my belief that McCall has done a decent job since he arrived.
  8. WTF. Finishing 3rd in the league with our budget and getting to a Cup Final and Semi Final - that is worryingly bad - right on man..
  9. IMO you are wrong. We were not well beaten. We played good football in the 1st half and at that point were marginally the better team. If the goal is given we are 1-1 at half time. Yes the defence looks a little suspect and we are missing Jenno big time BUT we created plenty chances which hopefully snother game we will take. I am not even going to talk about the referee and linesman. The 2nd hibs penalty was a disgrace and effectively ended the contest.
  10. The one thing I will agree with the moaners on - is I cannot understand some of McCalls substitutions. That said to those who said we were garbage tonight - honest to F#CK what game were you at. In the 1st half we were the better side and created many chances by playing some decent football at times. Yes we failed to take any of those chances and as usual the opposition score with one of the few chnaces they get - another belter into the top corner. After that the referee and his inept linesman took over the show. It was never a 4-0 game and you feel for the players when they know they are also playing against the referee. It was a game when everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. We have played worse and won games. Get a FUCKING GRIP
  11. THIS A world away from BP and the Gulf of Mexico, but someone at Scottish Power or whatever company screwed up. Reading an earlier post someone said there was a text sent talking about maintanence work being carried out. Perhaps the good people at Scottish Power (if they are to blame) can reimburse the club and me for my bloody petrol from Edinburgh and any other fan who came from afar
  12. Only time will tell if this works out to be a good thing or not. At the moment I fear it may not be. DDee Utd were on a poor run of form and missing their best player in GMS . He will no doubt be back for the rescheduled game. Also allows other teams to get ahead of us in the league. Bloody frustrating.....
  13. SPOT ON Probably still will not happen, but if it did then prepare for a lot more 4-3 and 5-4 scorelines We do need a replacement for Jennings, but if Faddy came back I would be delighted.
  14. I am not part of a happy clappy brigade, but it is comments like the one above that baffle me and why I would not take the MFC Managers job for £1m PA. We are currently sitting 2nd top of the SPL. We have only lost to Celtic. We finished 3rd last season. Let me ask a Q of all the doom merchants. Where should we be in the SPL with the budget and resources we have - 7th possibly 8th??? I noted the comments from an earlier poster about people blowing off steam and all that. I suspect that is what most posters do. But some posts and comments have me worried that sales of Valium will go through the roof were we actually to be in 7th or 8th.
  15. Tin Hat on.... Disappointed to lose today and certainly I Q why for example OJamma was dropped after his last 2 SPL performances. Which were streets ahead of Murphy That said the comments on some posts on this thread are unbelievable. Talk of wishing McCall away FFS. Try being a DDee Utd or Hearts supporter this evening. Both teams with bigger busgest than us horsed by teams they should be beating. we on the other hand lose to a team whose players earn more in a year than our entire team. We are still 2nd top and unbeaten v rest of SPL. FACT - McCall is doing an excellent job with the resources he has to play with. I hope he does not read this forum. fuck knows how or why he would put up with this crap. Here is a thought - how about getting a sense of perspective and supporting your team on this forum. I exclude MJC from this - because he would want McCall out even if we won the SPL and Champions League in the same season.
  16. Glad I am holidaying in Northumbria where there was no access to BBC Scotland. Should any of us say we are really surprised by the outcome. Rangers at Ibrox was good for a nice little earner and nothing else. It was a lose lose situation and that is how it turned out. I genuinely feel sorry for the 1000 or so fans that went into the bearpit and witnessed an inept performance. I hope that for once McCall had a good go at the players and had a look in the mirror himself. Talking up Rangers was tire some when they had a good squad.. That said it IS ash1te competition and some of the posts on here are a fucking disgrace given we are top of the table and unbeaten in 7 league games. Calm down to a panic FFS. There is even one poster threatening not to go to games until McCall leaves. GOOD - hope he keeps his word and gives the rest if us peace!!
  17. Good to get some resolution on this one way or another. Hopefully he will remember how we helped him out this summer.
  18. THIS He has come in for some stick recently - as is par for the course being a Motherwell player at times. I was at the game, but even more so when watching back on BBC Alba, he did everything that Murphy did not. Running the channels, running at players, basically trying to create chances at all times. Also some decent tracking back and tackling to boot. I have nothing against Jamie, but he is either hot or cold, and all too often he is lukewarm at the moment. He struggles against teams that defend in depth, more so than OJamma. If only Henrik could produce that for 90 mins and not 20.... Great 3 points that I did not see coming at 70 odd minutes. HIGGY The man is on fire and has really proved what he is capable of and the (many) doubters in the Well support. Hopefully they are all onside by now FFS.
  19. You get all these billy big balls on here telling us how we don't need McFadden and he is not a legend.....fkin blah deblah F#ckin spoilsports the lot of you. I watched Mwell in the 1st division when they could not string 2 passes together, so I do not need MJC - he who would top himself if he ever won the lottery - to shout the odds. Disappointed in Jay too. Speaks a lot of sense....but....the Fadster is god like genius and I for one would like to see him wear the claret and amber again. Did I think it would happen - NO. But at this rate he will be playing for Glasgow girls team unless he makes a decision
  20. Have a word....to those that say no return to Faddy - we do not need him We already made him an offer. McCall and the club would only do that if they felt he could add to the team. We have Ramsden and Hately that could play a less creative midfield role if required. It would give the club, the fans a great boost and hopefully help maintain the momentum + a fair sized statement to all other SPL clubs. If he is not going to give us a go - then fine, but it would be a TOUGH one to take were he to head north to Aberdeen. Celtic would disappoint, but I could understand - but Aberdeen or Hibs
  21. I am away in Northumbria all week and was hoping for an away tie, so as not to lose my "free" home cup game. Sure I did not have the Gers at Ibrox in mind. More Stenhousemuir. Still if I was around I would be sorely tempted to go along. Last time I was there was a 4-1 defeat. I think it was when Boyd screamed one in and Sutton hit a fantastic volley. Yes it will be a heated atmosphere, but it always is. The lads deserve a decent support.
  22. YE of little faith Randolph my MOM. Crucial saves at the important times. Big HIGGY - he the man. Top of the league and your no oh oh oh
  23. You will be. I will stick my neck out and state for the record that we will win tomorrow and win with something to spare. Europe has been a good distraction, but now we can focus on the SPL. Some key players were rested altogether. Time to take our rightful place at the summit of the SPL
  24. Delighted we have kept our squad intact. Also very surprised. Randolph especially. We probably will have to lose a few for peanuts at Xmas, but hopefully we can kick on and have a positive start to the season.
