Pretty much agree with paragraph 2 + 3. I suspect McCall would like fresh faces in for the Portugal training trip. So the defender from Bradford would need to show he is fully fit, before he commits to a deal. McCall knows more than we do he literally cannot afford to get it wrong. Still I would be worried with his injury record as stated above...

Law and Daley - who is the 3rd? Probably someone from previous season I have forgotten about. Law has for the most part been a very good signing. Daley looked as if he would do OK, but in all honesty he has not delivered. Lazy bugger imho. Not even the best Manager in the world gets 100% signings spot on. Give him a break and remember what budget or lack of budget he is working with! If the defender from Bradford turns out to be like the injury prone Chris Porter I would be more than happy.

Shaka needs to attend an Anger management course How anyone can spin a negative view on the club allowing the Well Society members to vote. That and to go to the lengths (and costs) of sending out a 3 page summary with a stamp addressed 1st class envelope. Honest to god get a grip...... My take is that the contenets of said letter are a little on the negative side, but that means that were the worst case scenario to unfold, then the club could come out and say that they did warn us. As for League reconstruction. If these talks have taken place, then I am sure the vast majority of SPL and SFL clubs know very little at this stage and would still have to vote on any reconstruction. At this point Motherwell FC have done everything that the majority on here wanted them to and a little more. Whilst by no means 100 % perfect, they have IMHO been utterly professional in the way they have dealt with this crisis so far. Now is the time to get behind the club..

^^^^^ THIS ^^^^ I have received my letter and will not be changing my intent on how I will vote. The way I see it is that we will lose approx £275k from gate receipts and hospitality from no Rangers, but we could lose that AND more from away fans boycotting Fir Park if it was a YES vote. We are fortunate this season in that we have guaranteed 2 potentially attractive and lucrative Euro ties. The figure quoted is minimum £250k. I suspect it will be higher than the figure quoted. Even if we lose both games we should get - (depending on opposition) circa 18-20,000 + hospitality + UEFA money + possible TV revenue. That would mean: Gate receipts = £300,000 - taking an average £15 Hospitality = £20,000 UEFA money = 130k Euro x 2 = £220,000 So £550k before expenses such as club travel and player bonus = even if that were to come out at £200k, that would leave circa £350k assuming we only get 2 home games and NO TV revenue. A more equitable split of SPL income should take care of any decrease in the SKY deal, although if they do try to negotiate what is IMHO a p1ssy deal in the 1st place, there may be other suitors. Add into all of that, hopefully a slight increase in attendance (patg), Well society and Season tickets, as the message will be the club needs the fans - then AND I MAY BE WRONG, but it may make little difference this season to the overall budget.... I also suspect that we may still lose a Hutchy, Randolph, Humphrey before the transfer window closes. I woould expect a minimum £500k for each of those 3 players......

I kinda noted in the Sun yesterday or the day before, that Kiev was voted by travelers digest - the city with the most attractive girls in the World....... Seems like as good a reason to hope we draw Dynamo Kiev......

A BIG well done to the Board and Trustees for reaching this decision. I am delighted they have done so, even although MFC will lose out commercially. I don't doubt that such a decision almost guarantees a no vote to allow Newco Rangers back to the SPL. In short they have put their or rather our money where their mouth is. Gives me great faith in going forwards even if it means some short term pain....

3/4trs of the fun is the trip there and back when you go independently. I appreciate that is not an option for a lot of people who have time limits or nae mates..... The only thing about the charter is the fact the plane leaves straight after the game. In Iceland it was good crack going into Reykyavik for a swally after the game...same goes for Odense. Still if we get turned over 5 or 6-0 then I will would want to get on the charter and back home pronto

He has stayed longer than we expected, but it would be a sore one for him to move on when we are in the Champions league. Probably for him as well to be fair. The delay is that he is probably hoping for better than Portsmouth and Peterborough who have been quoted as interested. Problem is we cannot wait forever. It is a dilemna for McCall, does he force a decision or bide his time and hope for the best. Only consolation is he takes a few weeks after summer to get back to full fitness. If that is any consolation

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
Welldaft Mk1 replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
I sympathise with the club somewhat because if Rangers are out of the SPl, then that would mean a potential reduction of up to £300k from match days............... However we have at least 2 Euro games that we did not have last year. Depending on opposition and home/away fixture then it is likely we could see a combined home crowd of anything between 14,000 to 20,000 + Euro income and knock on such as hospitality etc. I would hazard a guess that once expenses are taken into account that would leave anything up to £500k profit. More than dwarfing any loss in income from Rangers. If we were not in Europe then I could understand the panic.... That plus we need a change to the voting structure. Rangers may offer it up as an olive branch, but better to have them out of the picture altogether. They need to be punted - end of. Any other decision would be scandalous -
Hopefully ekwellfan will be right and Brugge will take their place. Are you heading to Turkey Big man ???????
-
What a drama queen My preference would be in order: Kiev, Panathnaikos, Copenhagen and then Fenerbahce. Still not quite 100% I would travel to Constantinople whereas I would for the other 3.

Sort of sad I know.........................but................. I am liking watching Sky Sports News at the moment, with the summary banner down the rights hand of the screen. From time to time it shows Motherwell FC under Champions League when it gets to 2011/12 SPL summary. Frightening though when you see the other leagues Champion League sides

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
Welldaft Mk1 replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
A little disappointed with McCall. He has been very good for us this season and exceeded all expectations in terms of our SPL form this past season. I also understand that having played many years for Rangers it would be naive to think he is more Motherwell minded than Rangers minded. It would be like expecting Craigan to not talk up Motherwell were he Manager at another club, although in saying that he probably would the right thing... However he is Manager of Motherwell FC now and a lot of the fans (myself included) are angered by the lack of remorse emanating from Rangers FC, for ALL the wrongs they have comitted the past 10-20 so years. There would be a penalty to pay for all SPL clubs if they are suspended or dropped to down to Div 3, but to suggest armageddon is presumptious. Maybe he is not intelligent enough to temper his comments with our views in mind.... -
Enlightening..........

Odense was a great trip. The people were very friendly and welcoming. The last minute free kick goal by Hately made a huge difference. The away goal gave us hope and a good night as oppose to losing 2-0. A lot of people have talked about the situation in Greece and Panathanaikos being a weaker team. But I suspect even a weaker team will be a tall ask. My 2 preferences are Copenhagen and the Geeks, followed by Kiev and a distant 4th Fenerbahce. Uncle how di you rate your chances at Euro 2012?

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
Welldaft Mk1 replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
True, but the content of the statement whilst still a little non committal is a hundred times more professional and considered than the comments of the Killie Chairman, who has made a buffoon of himself and by virtue the club he represents. Plus at least they have made what I believe a nod in the direction of a no to a newco by spinning the sporting integrity line. -
That is the spirit big man. I liked TottenMFC post. I wonder if Motherwell are top or bottom of the likeliest stabbing venue of the unseeded clubs I can see it now. Turkish fans worried about going to Motherwell.... In truth I would probably go to all destinations other than Instanbul. Spoke to a Man U fan this week who has been and said they could not pay him to go back Supporters bus was attacked and they were climbing in the windows. Apart from that all was ok People say Motherwell FC are inconsequential and would be a minor distraction...mibbes aye...mibbes no.....
-
You would like to think so, but according to this article McCall has had to shave £200,000k off the budget! Craigan and Clancy and Forbes would probably come to that mount or just over.....food for thought... http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/322083/McCall-could-lose-both-Clancy-and-Jennings

So does it make Copenhagen more likely? Would want to avoid Bucharest since I have been there last time around. Even been to Copenhagen en route to Odense. Apart from Istanbul I was hoping for a new country/city. Panathinaikos and Kiev for me then.....would rather have had Brugge or Braga, but every result including Chelsea winning last night seems to give us less welcome options
-
So looks like D Kiev, Fenerbahce, Panathanaikos and Copehhagen. Would rather had Braga or Moscow than the Greek team. Still outside chance of Brugge. Fingers crossed.
-
After reading that last post I am away to find a bottle of malt Any permutation that gives us a better chance of playing the likes of Kiev, Copenhagen, Braga and Brugge and less of a chance of a Turkish or Greek team....
-
Thanks Wellfan '84. I would have been happy with a Chelsea win, but would rather we avoided Greek and Turkish teams being a 50-50 in the draw. As it stands Fenerbahce are a 1 in 5 chance. Would much rather go to Braga or Moscow. So a bayern win would probably be best.
-
Noe that the Sc Cup final is over, we swithc attention to the Champions League Final. I appreciate that Bayern winning means no chnage, but what exactly is the impact of Chelsea winning? Braga and the Moscow side move out of our seeded teams and one non seede team steps up? If so who is that likely to be?

Rumour going around Edinburgh that McPake has signed a pre contract agreement with Hearts Hibs offered £2500 per week and Hearts £4000 a week. Probably bollox....
