Overly pessimistic Dave. Your scenario has us losing our last 2 games and St Johnstone winning 2 and drawing 1. I think we will take at least a point from our remaining 2 games and even 2 or 1 win. ICT will take a boost from beating Aberdeen and it would not surprise me if it was a draw midweek for St J v ICT and you would expect celtic to win at parkhead v St J next weekend. So I can only see them taking 4 points form their last 3 games which would put them on 50. I think my post above will prove more accurate. Of course time will tell...........

Interestingly over the past 10 games DDee Utd have taken 20 points, St Johnstone 17 points and Motherwell 20 points. So the fact is we have played as well as or at least gained as many points as DDee U over this period. However the momentum seems to be with them. After today I would rule out Hearts for 3rd. So there is a 3 way battle for 3rd and the Champoins League place. Worse case scenario: We go into the split with a 2 point lead on DDee Utd. We go into split 1 point behind St johnstone. Best case scenario: We go into split with a 14 point lead over DDee Utd We go into split with a 14 point lead over St Johnstone Most realistic scenario: We go into split with a 5 point lead over DDee Utd. They take 4 points from remaining 2 games and we take 1 point. We go into split with a 5 point lead over St Johnstone. They take 4 points from next 3 games and we take 1 point. 5 points would be better than 0, but even 1 win over either the h**s or Hibs would and could make a big difference.

What seems inexplicable is the nature and level of performance. That plus we seem incapable of not getting 3 or 4 players booked in every game at the moment and mostly for next to nothing. 3rd is still ours to throw away, but a result and performance like this gives me cause for concern. DDee Utd must be due a blip but I can see them picking up at least 4 points from Dunfermline at home and Aberdeen away. We need to win one of the games v Gers at home or Hibs away to go into the split with a reasonable cushion. We should all being well get 3 home games and 2 away and DDee Utd should be at Fir Park. Disappointed to hear that Hammell and Jennings are missing next week. Is this 100% correct? Do some of these suspensions not seem to kick in at strange times - ie not the very next game???

Maybe I have missed the definitive post - but is Lasley definitely missing for the league game this Saturday?

Motherwell Vs Aberdeen Cup Game Discussion Thread

This post is spot on. First off the the Well crowd was pretty decent at 5500+ given live TV and KO time, so a bit baffled by criticism by one poster earlier. As for the post having a go at O'Jamma. Sums up some of the posters on here No-one is saying he is the messiah, but has injected a much needed spark in our season and by any benchmark he has been a fanatastic signing. Annoyed by the result but at least we don't have to see (most probably) another defeat by Celtic in the semi or another final. Let's kick on and secure 3rd and get Champions league football. -

I see on Pie & Bovril the Dons have sold around 2500-3000 tickets. Add PATG and they could well fill 2/3rds of the away end. Good going if you ask me. The only thing the old duffer got right when he jumped ship is that they have potential to take a large away support. We would do well to take 1000 to Pittodrie with the kick off time and live TV. Let's hope there is a decent turn out from the home fans to drown out the Dandy Dons...... -

Special mention to Humphrey today. Daley was not contributing a lot but Humphrey made a bid difference. The Boss seems to favour Daley but if I had to choose I would opt for the Humph. Great goal from the pistolero and as mentioned above a comfortable end to what after 45 mins was looking like a difficult afternoon. -

I will take any kind of win. it has been a while since we have come a cropper against a team we were expected to beat. Use to happen quite regularly..... I am no MJC but we are overdue a bloody nose. On form alone we should win but not getting paid seemed to galvanise the Hearts team. Looking forward to the game. Best away atmosphere of the season for me anyway. Same again would lift the players. -
would like to see the OJamma incident. Radio claiming he dived, when he should and could have got a shot away in the box?
-
All very well me saying we should have a go. It is whether the other team let you play. That said, sound like we have been quiet and have we even had a shot on or off target?? Nothing to lose now.......

Got to stop missing home games v Hibs, although most Well fans would hope I did. 6-6 and now 4-3. Gutted to miss out again. Should pack in my job..... Then again absolutely FECKING delighted. Shouting away in the hotel room. Next door neighbours must be wondering what the hell is going on... LOVE this team...... Bring on Juventus

I assume it will be PATG for the away fans or a case of buying their tickets directly from Fir Park. Would not expect a large away gate in any case......
-
Cannot see a certain James McFadden on that list. My father and I have joined and our names are not yet on the list, so must be a fair few names to be added.
-
I am away on business in Londinium so missing this game P1ssed off cause I suspect there will be a large crowd, great atmosphere and fairly confident it wont be 0-0 Fact is the last Hibs home game I missed ended up 6-6

Good to see him winning the Clydesdale Bank young player of the month for Jan. Sun reported it the paper, but just confirmed on BBC website. Great recognition for a quite amazing impact. Long may it continue.

Always worries me when the vast majority predict a routine win!!! Hopefully everyone will be on the money. I do expect a win, but reckon it will be tougher that Queens Park which ended 3-0. Lower than some scores quoted on this thread......
-
I will be signing as will my father. I also hope that most fans that can afford to do so will join. Imho the timing was just about the worst time of the year - just before and just after Xmas!!! I cannot believe that the powers that be at the club could not have delayed official launch until say February. That said the focus will be the next 2-3 months. I also assume the Directors are participating and hopefully one or two businesses and wealthy fans that go for the top £25,000 package. If that happens then we may just get to the minimum level required. I certainly think that talk of £1m + is fanciful talk......
-
Glad to see no one is leaving. We need all the players to compete for 3rd place. The players we have in the 1st team squad are better than we can afford to replace if you get my drift...
-
I remember telling Hutch he would go onto play in the EPL, he then went on his long run of injuries....jinx that I am. Still he has huge potential and would be a great addition to a champioship team. But I would hope for a minimum £1m or slighlty less with add ons. I don't think Motherwell could refuse that offer. I am AMAZED that no-one had bid for Randolph that we are aware of. As good a keeper as Ruddy, who is doing well in the Premiership. In terms of saleable assets in order of potential transfer fee (IMHO): Hutchison Randolph Murphy Law Humphrey Hateley Don't see many other as saleable, not because of ability, but because of age etc although OJamma may jump to the top of that list if he continues his current form and we can tie him down to a longer contract....

I am not quite a technophobe, but I do not use twitter. If I did I would ask Daryl B if he would have issued such a statement if it was Celtic or Rangers involved...or better yet, as an SFA employee should he be making such a comment/statement about a member club. It does not seem overly impartial.... This decision today has opened the floodgates. If I see a ST Johnstone player so much as fart on Saturday I will be onto the SFA with my complaint. I hope all the Well fans who are on Twitter give this BOZO a hard time......just because.....

Early flight tomorrow, so I bailed out before Humphrey scored the 3rd Well that and the nerves could not take it........ Bizarre but hugely enjoyable game. We had more possession than a team with an extra player Even when Hearts beat St Mirren recently St Mirren had 60% possession. The players deserve great credit. Get that boy OJamma a deal on the table tomorrow. Special mention for the Boss who got the tactics spot on. Off to bed with a big grin PS - The REF was/is a :wank:

Your post would be fine...except for one minor detail that many on here forget about every now and then........... That is we have NO money and a relatively small budget. For that alone we have the squad we have and not Hearts. We have done well qualifying for europe and with another chance this year. On our budget, these achievements should be celebrated....... What we get is people moaning about not winning every game or complaining at the standard of player we have in our squad. Thing is that will never change but most Well fans thankfully are glad we are where we are and not Falkirk, Dundee or Partick Thistle.
-
Quite. We have taken a decent away support to quite a few away games this season. But it is a tough time at the moment for spare cash, so not surprised by the turnout.
-
He would be entitled to take a machine gun to the w@nkers that have a go at him. Not saying there are times he can be infuriating, but he is playing for Motherwell, not Barcelona. So far this season he has scored more goals than Sutton did. Boo boys get off his back....enough is enough!!!!
-
Hopefully that stops the rot. Looks like a tough game on Tuesday night though......
