  1. Not quite sure what to make of that post...... Radio reporting the goal was scored by Russell and not a Craigan OG!
  2. St Johnstone taken the lead at Hibs. Could we dropping down to 5th today! The rot has well and truly set in :-( I think Craigan must have some sort of record. Hope I am wrong, but I think we needed to score 1st to take anything from this game.
  3. What happened was that one fan was rather vociferous in his disapproval of a long ball/punt up the park by Darren R in the 2nd half after ICT had scored. Not sure there was too much in the way of direct abuse. I did not hear the exact words, but it sounded like the word dick or pr1ck may have been used. Not sure why Randolph was getting it tight, when there would have been more deserving recipients That said Randolphs reaction whilst understandable was not exactly professional. Should have left it there rather than try to wade into the Cooper at the end of the game....I doubt he even knew who was the culprit. In short frustration from fans and player alike to a poor second half performance and being 1-0 down at home. However abuse of that nature/audible volume is uncalled for and hardly likely to inspire the team/players!!
  4. Like your post OCD. Pretty much agree with your comments. Clancy has had one or two decent games, but yesterday his distribution was woeful. Murphy has one or two decent runs per game, but that is about 1 minute of useful contribution in 90. He has definitely gone backwards this season. Higdon was signed as a target man to replace Sutton. For the most part he has done well in this role. But no point playing a target man up on his own for most if not all games. OJamma has done more in his 30 minutes to suggest he could be a realistic alternative to Murphy and may be more willing and able to support Higdon. The last few games have been a disappointment, but we were never going to continue averaging nearly 2 points a game. I am hoping we can pick it up and get back on track with the remainder of the games this month.
  5. ICT may well have deserved their win and lord knows they were due a break against us, but to suggest they were by far the better team is IMHO bollox! We were the better side in the 1st half, had more possession and but for another wonder strike (a la Goodwin) it would probably have ended 0-0. We were poorer in the 2nd half and that was disappointingand is ultimately why we lost the game.
  6. This........... Usual knee jerk reaction thread. We seem to be p1sh poor around winter time every year. We may be struggling at home a little...but a couple of stats that may be of interest: We are 8 points ahead of 7th place with 2 games in hand. We have 17 games left to play this season. If we win just 4 of them we will have the same points total we finished last season on = 46 points!!
  7. Probably the most accurate post/reaction to the game i have read. We were on top in the 1st half and the players DID look up for it initially. ICT did threaten occasionally but that is to be expected. That said we don't have a lot of goals in the team and when the other team scores first it is a real struggle. I would like to see the stats for the games we have won and lost depending on who scores the 1st goal. Seems to me that if we score 1st we grow in confidence, but if we concede it has the opposite effect. Law has gone off the boil and I would award Murphy the freedom of Motherwell in the highly unlikely event he ever wins a 50-50 tackle/challenge. The only good thing is that we are 4th with a couple of games in hand. Likelihood is that Hearts will finish 3rd despite their problems. If we continue to play like we did in the second half at home we will be lucky to finish top 6, which after the start we have had would be a HUGE let down.
  8. Yet it was the 1st thing mentioned on Sportscene last night following our highlights. That the Well fans would be uneasy during the transfer window in relation to speculation surrounding Murphy....original or what. Not really if any scouts had been at any of the last dozen SPL games. Murphy can be a fantastic player at times and I would rather he was in our team. But he is so inconsistent......... As for who leaves and who stays. Depends what clubs want our players and how much they are willing to pay for them....simples. I could only foresee Randolph leaving, possibly Humphrey and/or Law, but no-one else.
  9. Welcome to the club Henrik. Hopefully be more successful than Casagolda. We do of course now need a nickname - pyjamma O,jammy - better ones out there I am quite sure:-)
  10. Sooooooo defensive Sieb. It was a simple Q. If you were at the game and saw what your comments describe, then it is rather depressing we turned in another insipid performance against Rangers.
  11. Were you at the game? I get your point with Hughes though. He is a luxury player - even if he is on a pay per play basis.
  12. The league table does not look too bad after 20 games. The 3 away defeats coming at Tynecastle, Ibrox and Parkhead. My concern is we always seem to have a poor return over the winter time, at least in recent seasons. We still have 2 home games in hand against the 2 worst teams in the league. Hopefully 2 points if our home form continues. Hopefully we can look to get a good win next Saturday and start picking up maximum points from the home games in Jan. We missed Jennings more than they missed Jelavic. Hopefully the boy Pyjama will turn out to be a find.
  13. DITTO. It is quite frankly embarrassing. If Rangers swapped players with Albion Rovers (at Ibrox) for a day we would still lose heavily to this mob A 2-0 defeat would almost be a moral victory.... Whilst there is no shame in losing at Tynecastle and Ibrox - we need to get the show back on the road asap or we will soon be overtaken by the teams sitting just below us including a resurgent Hearts
  14. They have got no bloody strikers - so to speak, yet we still allow Healey to score. I might add his 1st for nearly 2 years! McCall should ask St Mirren and St johnstone how they do it and we seemingly nevr can!!!!!
  15. Just back in the door.... Shame we did not turn up today. Especially as the away support was probably as much as 4 times that that turned up at Perth when we won 3-0. Really good away support for Xmas eve. I would have thought there would have beem as many as 1200+ From the get go we were not at the races and Hateley had his WORST game for Motherwell since he joined. Templeton took him to the cleaners time and again and the 2 goals came from that side. I hate to say it, but well done the Hearts players for turning in a performance like that with no pay slip in sight. Bad day at the office but happy with where we sit at Xmas time. Big game on Wednesday. On paper the easiest game we have. Dunfermline are rank and losing 3 or 4 goals a game. Relegation is already theirs despite what the other clubs do. I am sure it will not turn out like that however As for the referee. Not the reason we lost today, but I would never tire of smacking his face repeatedly. he gave Hearts everyhting today - even fouls that should have gone for Motherwell. He was RANK rotten. I am away to have a few beers and forget today ever happened. I am also going to ask Santa for another striker to play with Higdon or at least put him under pressure for a starting place
  16. Aaaah multiple databases......... I only got the two in the post yesterday. But when I won the Well Lottery a few weeks back, the cheque went to my last address, where I have not stayed for the last 2 years That said I am somewhat perplexed at the timing of this. I would have suggested they leaked some info on what was going on and only when the FSA gave approval, they went full steam ahead with the marketing and fundraising effort. This way we were given details and there was then a lull of several months and now they have launched a few days before Xmas I just hope people have not forgotten by next year. I will do my bit and I will try to get the old man to stump up, since I support MFC because of him!
  17. TBH there was never EVER likely to be any other outcome. I suspect the club did this to show backing to Jenno, since he has stayed with us when he could easily have moved on. There is no way the two incidents can be compared. Goodwin nudged Jenno in the back, which caused him to grab his face, to which he then received the punch to the stomach. Had Goodwin been rightly red carded then it is likely nothing else would have happened. Bottom line is Jenno should not have raised his hands. When all is said and done the disciplinary panel have made a rod for their own backs. I suspect there will be multiple hearings each and every week now till the end of the season and each one will be scrutnised for apparent consistency, which with the Gary O'Connor dive shows will never happen!! It is a blow but we need to move on. He will be a miss but we are reasonably well served in midfield.
  18. There is an element of truth in that post and also an element of bollox. 9 games at home and we have still lost only 3, 2 against the old firm in games we played well enough in and one absolute stinker against St J. We have no divine right to win any game whther it is at home or away. Fact is St Mirren have the best squad/team they have in some time and fully deserved a point today/ If we have a budget 4 x St Mirren then I would agree wholeheartedly, but we don't............
  19. Great game. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Perth today. Each player was fantastic and the effort by each and every one of them was immense. Special mentions for Daley, Jennings (yet again) and the entire defence - Hutchy in particular. St J bombarded us aerially with the 7ft monster Haber. He even made Hutchy look like a midget. But the defence stood firm. The ribbing of the Steward was very amusing and even had the wimmin police officer in fits of giggles. I want to swap my home season ticket for an away one. 409 is not a bad away support, but should be more the way we are playing away from home. Happy days
  20. For christ sakes guys. Scouts could well be reading this very messageboard............... I think Humphrey is yet to realise his full potential. In fact if we get £2m for him it could prove to be the steal of the century. He is only going to get better.......in fact I would say he could be a £10m player in a year or two Actually in truth I like Humphrey. Has gone off the boil recently, but then so have most of the team barring Lasley, Jennings & Hammell who can be relied to put in a 6 ro 7 out of 10 performance as a minimum.
  21. That and we have only lost 1 league game in the last 9 - which was a close fought contest against Celtic. Hardly a situation that calls for panic. Still I do agree we have been fortunate in a number of these games to pick up all 3 points. I also suspect the weather hampered our play the last 2 home games. I hope as we all do that freebie last Friday makes some plyaers realise how poor they were and that if they play like that a loss or several losses are round the corner. This month is critical. A few wins and if we get near 40 points I will stick my neck out and say that we will qualify for Europe just over half way through the season.
  22. It sometimes comes across as pedantic these comments given we are sitting clear in 3rd, but I agree with this post and did so with the sentiment from the beginning of the season. A strikeforce of essentially Higdon and McHugh was never going to gain us many goals. Higdon IMHO had done as well as hoped for, but if I had a £ for every time he flicked on the ball to NOBODY or Humphrey crossed the ball to NOBODY. Maybe we have a good balance and that is what has got us to 3rd, but if we had a goalpoacher in the mould of Dougie Arnott or even Skippy we would have scored more than 6 goals in 8 home games - 3 of which came in the 1st game, so that makes it 3 in the last 7 home games Half as many home goals as Killie, Aberdeen and even Dunfermline. We are doing exceptionally well with McCall and this is not a dig, but if I can see we are crying out for a goalscorer, that has to be our Focus in January not another midfielder.
  23. I would imagine most of the negative posters would have been happy with the design and thoughts behind this memorial - if they had been shown on the drawing board and in the workshop. It is just relatively small looking when stuck up on the end of the POD stand, otherwise I think it is fine and as most posters have stated - it is the fact the trust raised the money and made the gesture in the 1st place. It reminds me of the POD tribute flag. Very excited - but when it was unveiled at Tynecastle it seemd son small set against 3500 supporters and the large away end. Probably the same has happened with this..
  24. I'd say also...especially since Celtic, Rangers and DDee Utd were still left in the draw when Elgin/QP came out
