I think the argument has been put very eloquently by Well 4 Europe. That boy DOES have a way with words..

Cant agree with you there YB. There were several games last season where las was being asked to do the job of 2 men and on most of those occasions we were fortunate not to be overrun by the opposition. Jennings had his failings but was definitely missed for his abilities in the middle of the park. I, for one would have had him back at the drop of a hat, but now we have lawson on board it's irrelevant.

Too many keyboards warriors looking for a spat in the close season. Time for some folks to cool their jets and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. I have no doubt SMc and co are currently getting negotiations started/concluded behind closed doors. I for one will sit back and watch a new team emerge and who knows maybe even better what we did last season...

Got mine thru the post today and proudly wore it picking the kids up from school, much to the annoyance of a couple of hertz fan dads.... heh heh heh.... btw: fantastic quality all round compared to a Stone Roses T shirt I've got!! Great effort lads!!

When you bear in mind that swinecastle was valued at £20m+ before everything went south, and now they'll be lucky to see anywhere near £10m for it, I reckon it'll be a while before the club are confident enough to try punting the stadium for a reasonable amount of cash, or any developer offer a fair size wad..

Agreed, if you don't have Higdon in the squad, otherwise the games a bogey...
-
A chance to play for the Reds in the Championship could prove too tempting to resist for Higdon.... With all due respect, the tykes escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth last season and under flitcroft I don't see them achieving much more than that next season, so don't see this being much more than tabloid shyte...

Agreed! I am now firmly of the opinion that he is a modern day Samson. Touch the mullet and we're doomed I say, doomed......

Ludicrous Poll Time - Are You Rangers Or Celtic Minded?
bladesman replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
I detest both clubs and their hoards...The green bunch due to their propensity to paranoia and their general inability to rid themselves of a large swaith of supporters who still think it's fashionable to glorify/romanticise terrorism. And the blue mob for more reasons than I've time to list but generally their cheating, corruption, tax evasion and completely inexplicable superiority complex. Oh that and the fact that they are still labouring under the illusion that they're the same club and that liquidation didn't spell the end for the original mob....So yeah I'm in the first category thanks!! -
More than the disappointment of seeing a very talented player leave our club and choose to waste the aforementioned talents in the nether regions of the 2nd divisions, it is the complete lack of morality in what's happening that I find most galling. I know folk on here that will go on about the Sevco haters etc, but where is the level playing field when these feckers are losing £1m+ a month and yet the powers that be let them sign players on wages that can only plunge them into more debt. There is no guarantee that they will survive another season never mind all the investigations that are currently ongoing bringing them to a grinding halt. As much as I hope SMc can go on to bigger and better things, I fear that Nicky Law will sorely regret the move he's making.

Couldn't agree more . I for one wasn't convinced of smc's credentials when he arrived, and hoped that we would be the club where he made his mark and built a reputation. That has come to pass and it would be churlish to feel aggrieved if the guy chooses to take on another challenge elsewhere, especially with a club that he clearly has a lot of affection for. If he stays, I'd be over the moon but if as it seems he's off to the Blades, he leaves with my gratitude and no small measure of admiration for his achievements both on and off the park.

Go back to follow follow knuckledragger, we don't need your sort on here. Enjoy your struggle for survival, I hope you make it to September to see the boy play...

Re really disappointing performance today with very few putting in even half a shift. Noticed that Faddy appeared to tweak his hamstring in the last minute of the warm up and could see he wasn't up for pushing himself throughout his stint. Kerr still flatters to deceive and against an attack that had something to win today, he was caught out of position too many times, the lead up to the first goal being an example. Agree with what's been said about Hollis; I feel sorry for the boy as he's got big boots to fill and it was clear that he and the back 4 weren't full of confidence in each other as was proved by the number of times they iignored his shouts. He's in a bit of a no win situation, but have to say that him staying glued to his line didn't fill me with confidence. Got to get another established keeper in though. The better team won today but the best team got 2nd... Mustn't grumble... -
This.... And the fact that he attracts trouble off the pitch, we don't need any more of that Pish.

Don't be too sure about the Govan mob being in the spl in 2 years time.... the way they are haemorrhaging money(£1.2m/month), there's a very strong chance that they'll be bust again within a year. He'd be absolutely mental to even think about going there to further his career. He should be heading south!
-
I'm sure his words have been prettied up for the knuckle draggers that read that rag, but surely the lad's got more ambition than to play against posties and butchers...Mind you... £10k a week till they go bust and then a quick move to the championship... Maybe he's no that daft after all....

This without doubt is one of the most enjoyable seasons I've had as a Well fan. Every game has been an adventure and the fans have been treated to some of the best football to come out of Fir Park in many years. Well done to Stuart McCall and Kenny Black and the staff at the club for turning a very good team into a great team. To hear and see supporters from other spl clubs praise our team's commitment and skill tops everything off for me. I'm off for a lie down now....
-
Great to see the lad's hard work and fantastic talent being recognised!!! Well done Henrik!!!
-
Maybe, but he has a history with the blades and was supposedly at the home defeat last night...
-
Have to say outside Sevco/epl, this would be the one job that would turn SMc's head. I would be sorry to see him go after the great things he's done but I wouldn't blame him if they came knocking.
-
Enjoyed listening to Mr Gilmour and his very well thought out arguments. The one bone of contention is clearly the 11-1 voting. Really cant understand this attitude from the clubs considering one of the ugly sisters is irrelevant now...

That's our top scorer for ya!!!!

Hartwood jube jubes.... Classic!!!!!!

Can only echo above comments. Very sad news, condolences to his family and friends. RIP.

Football Historians In The Future Will Say...
bladesman replied to SteelmaninOZ's topic in Club Chat
I think you hit the nail on the head there O, it's only once you've tasted that victory that you appreciate what a rare and beautiful thing it is for a club like ours and the fans. I'm sure I'm not the only one who had a dad who would yabber on about the glory days of the 50's and the 52 cup winning team, and how magical it felt. I was always envious of him because of what he had experienced all those years back, even through the 70's and 80's when we often had really entertaining teams that almost got there., But just fell short. So I can fully understand why people would feel so strongly about winning a cup. And those of us lucky enough to have gone through every emotion possible in 91, can always say to our kids/nephews/nieces/grand kids etc, I was there... After missing out so badly 2 years ago, I'm sure folk who didn't experience the Original People's final, would happily give up some league success for a reversal of that day... Nothing irrational about that. Just wanting to right a wrong... IMO
