Football Historians In The Future Will Say...
bladesman replied to SteelmaninOZ's topic in Club Chat
They're not thinking irrationally, they just have different opinions which is what this site is all about! Whilst I agree that the team we have just now would be revered if they won silverware, big Higdon will go down as a club legend. Why? Because he's about to eclipse another goal scoring legend, Willie P. And what did Willie Pettigrew win with the club... Nowt!!!So you don't have to win anything to be a legend or a legendary team at Fir Park.Tbh, the best team I ever saw in c&a was the 81/82 team that won the 1st division at a stroll and set a goal scoring record as well. Now that was a team... Just my opinion like... -
Forgot to record the game last night. Does anyone have any links as I've checked espn for the next few days and there's no repeat shown.
-
Thought the big lad had a great game last night, leading from the front. Really hope he clinches the record tally for all the effort he's put in this year!
-
He he, remember sitting in an Oirish pub in Sheffield watching the game with 2 mates who are Blades fans. Surrounded by smellic fans all partying cos they thought they had it in the bag. Then all their wee smiling faces took n a shell shocked appearance...My mates were jumping about more than me at the end watching the mhanky mob crying into their Guinness.... Absolutely priceless...
-
Yep, I noticed that they tootled round that issue, and I have to say, I don't remember anything being advertised or mention in our esteemed press anything about an agreement over prize money in October. I smell shyte....
-
I'd be amazed if he were to go to Aberdeen, if nothing more than the fact that auld Broonie is still going to be shuffling about in the background as a non exec director/ director of football?
-
Agree that not every day to day decision needs the perusal or agreement of the fans, but when those self same fans have become stakeholders in the club, something as major as earnings through league placing should always be discussed especially if the terms are changed mid stream.
-
The fact that Celtic's prize money has been left untouched is an absolute disgrace, and the 11 other club representatives should hang their heads in shame. I can understand why there would be a move to redistribute the winnings in a fairer way, but this yet again seems very underhand(no surprise there with Donkey and co) but why haven't our board flagged up this change in the rules happening midway through the season. What has happened to the transparency and move towards fans being in control. Surely those fans representatives should have been consulted. Worrying if not and even more worrying if they had and this was not passed on to the other members of the Well Society for discussion and comment. I've just checked the newsletters and no mention at all of the changes in prize money.

We might get a tidy sum for him then....
-
He was PISH.... No pace, no imagination, no skill, no fight, no passion, no commitment, no new contract(hopefully)
-
There nice to see that Omar Daley's been on this thread judging by the vote for him....
-
Couldnt agree more milo. I had to sit with some neutral mates and sprigs in the Gorgie Stand and had to stop laughing my tits off after 10minutes. Thought we sat way too deep at times and just let them come at us. Big Hutch and Scouse did a fine job today as did nicky Law. Good solid 3points against a hearts team that showed a lot of promise. Ref and THAT linesmen were shocking in the 2nd half. I hope SMc will have 2nd thoughts about Daley wearing the shirt again. He was truly Pish, there was nothing there. I don't mind if you're having a mare on the pitch but at least try and make an effort! Btw did the ref feck up with oj's booking? Couldn't see from where I was.
-
I know I'm tempting fate here, but Hearts truly are pish and are a team full of boys. Their minds are on the league cup final, so we won't have a better chance to hump them in their own midden. Funnily enough shooting the breeze with Gary Locke on Monday afternoon, he didn't look very happy with life...
-
I think Thomson would be a perfect replacement for Jennngs. We haven't really had a battler in midfield this year to do the dirty work and he'd fit the bill IMO. I would have thought his wages might be a bit too pricey for us but you can live in hope.
-
Absolutely, and that was always his problem, I remember when we played Hearts and all they did was get Nade to bully him in the first 5 minutes and that was that for the rest of the game. That said he has always been comfortable with the ball at his feet; a very shrewd piece of business by granpaw..
-
According to the Blades forum, their bid was a third of the Arabs' valuation....
-
Did Leighton Baines have his platforms on that day?!! I think Blackman is well suited to the championship, so it's gonna be a tall order for the lad jumping from league 1 to EPL. Best of luck to him.
-
Dunno what stage if any things are at but saw them play today at Livi and was impressed with Erskine when he came on. Some nice touches but as a jag mate said runs like Frank McGarvie so defenders don't have a scooby where he's going.....
-
Blades fans are used to inconsistency and theyhave been a poor team for the last decade or so. They are a championship team at best, and most folk I know that go to the Lane have no delusions. I think Jamie will cope with challenge, and if he struggles at first, most folk will give him time to settle.

Def one of the bet attacking displays I've seen at Fir Park for a Long time. Great team display and showed the sheepies up for what they really are. Thought we were comfortable at the back for most of the game, but big Hutchie seemed to be at sixes and sevens when we went to a flat back 4! Talking to a Dons lass coming out and she said it was the best display she'd seen against her mob this year, and reckoned that Broon would be gone by the end of the season...Hope for the same come Saturday!
-
Then what are you doing added to this thread....
-
Everything they are and everything they represent within our society.
-
Can only agree with the majority of feelings about the game last night. What summed it up for me was a Jags supporting mate who was watching in the pub with me and said: your team are scared of this mob, it's as if they don't want to be there.I couldn't disagree with him. There will be conjecture on here till the cows come home, but the truth is that if you can't be up for a game like that after all the shite we've had to put up with as a club and supporters from that shower of feckers, it's time to give up. To lose was bad enough, but the manner of it is the worst thing and will hang over us for a while. Hopefully the management will have the team watch the whole debacle again today and fire a rocket up them. Truly gutted by this.

Root beer, just don't get that at all....
-
Maybe they should make a statement explaining exactly what they meant by the 1st statement.....
