That would be good, as its one of my favourite instruments. It'd bring a bit of a different atmosphere to proceedings. Does anyone have a dulcimer they could bring along?

Overall a thrilling and entertaining game. We deserved the points and Hibs almost got their comeuppance, but not quite. The first half was strewn with errors but I don't blame Tim Clancy for the first goal. He was clearly being fouled when he tried to head the ball. Second half was a different game with some good end to end stuff. Higdon came good with two excellent penalties and a fantastic overhead kick. We were very unlucky to lose the second half goals - our luck must surely turn shortly. By contrast Hibs were fortunate not to pick up two second half red cards. Keith Lasley was badly missed as we allowed Hibs just too much freedom in midfield at times. His tenacity and fight would have help counter Hibs' aggression. Ojamaa frightened the life out of a very poor Hibs rearguard. We won by the Motherwell way and picked up 3 very good points into the bargain. More of the same again please! A decent crowd added to the atmosphere with good support from the young lads in the East Stand. Even heard singing in the POD!

I'm almost in the same position but assumed that free MTV would be given to members only once the Society was actually set up ie we are still waiting on confirmation that numbers will be sufficient and won't know for sure until next month.

Yes, its trial by television. TV pundits clearly have a big responsibility on their shoulders to report and highlight all incidents in an unbiased and objective manner.
-
Very interesting. Did the Compliance Officer cite any reason for taking no action? Adele makes a gesture at a high profile awards ceremony and recives an apology!
-
Any update on the Zaliukas incident? Any response from the Compliance Officer?

It'll be a very tough game. Hibs usually make very dangerous opponents at Fir Park irrespective of the form book. We have to play to our best and pray for a decent ref - they've been in short supply of late.
-
I wouldn't have said either tackle was from behind... more like side on. As an aside, refs seem perfectly happy with tackles from behind these days and you'll see at least half a dozen per game with none being pulled up. I would also contend the red card may have helped us through a sesne of injustice. Typical Rancid!
-
My take on it too. Neither tackle looked bad and there seemed to be minimal contact. Keith seemd to be going for the ball on both occasions.

Sorry I can't go along with that. My own view is that you accept these things up to a point.... if fans give out stick they should expect some reaction from players but its a very fine line to tread. I've seen some opposition players gesture to Well fans without provocation and the reaction, understandably, was very nasty indeed. In one incident, fans had to be physically restrained from jumping on the pitch and laying into him. Fans and players alike are only human but sometimes these incidents can get out of hand. Be very careful what you wish for. Anyway, more to the point. What a great feeling this morning to know that we've crushed our rivals for 3rd place and strengthened our grip as the best team outwith the OF. All the better that it was Hearts!

You've hit the nail on the head. If the SFA has set this controversial system up then they must expect it to be scrutinised. It will be a real test of whether or not it is focused on the say so of media pundits. Perhaps it would help if this incident was to be investigated, Zaliukas fouind guilty and then Well fans appeal en masse that he shouldn't receive any punishment. That would be point made. I don't hold with the "everyone hates a grass" view. The fact is that not everyone does hate a grass, and its very presumptious to say that. If you commit the crime you take the punishment like a man.

A great performance and result today. That was some of the best football I've seen for a while and our third goal was simply sublime. In fairness it could have been 4 or 5. It was a real team performance but Ojamaa certainly caught the eye with his show of perpetual motion - he was a real thorn in Hearts' side. Thought our defence did really well and Tim Clancy justified Stuart McCall's faith in him. A very poor refereeing performance today which disadvantaged us although the sense of injustice seemed to spur us on. Keith Lasley's second yellow was very harsh and Ian Black really needs to look at himself in the mirror for trying to get a fellow pro sent off. If you can't take it don't dish it out Ian! Steve Hammell's yellow was also absurd. In contrast Taouil and MacGowan were both very fortunate to finish the game. Spitting at a fellow player is just filthy and inexcusable and swinging a punch at an opponent off the ball is cowardly and thuggish. I'm not in favour of fans reporting players for gestures but if its applicable to Michael Higdon its also applicable to Zaliukas. It'll be interesting if the Compliance Officer listens to fans or only to media pundits with an agenda. This will be a real test for him. Plenty of talking points and a great result which will do our chances of finishing in the top 6 no harm at all. Anything better than that is a bonus.

I didn't enjoy the article on Alan Muir at all - far too prophetic for my liking.
-
Very well put. That is my take on things too, end of.
-
Couldn't have put it better myself Iain. In all of the current goings on the only matter of concern to us should be the future of our club. Thats something we can influence.
-
It is indeed but our long term future is not secure. Ok there's no need to worry but the club needs to create what it calls a "buffer fund" to cover "cash flow and crisis risk" ie through the Society. So far so good but the club must plan ahead without John Boyle.
-
Very true Haggis. We should learn the lessons of Ibrox. Craig Whyte and David Murray wielded far too much power at Ibrox without being questioned. I hope that never happens at Fir Park.

Hearts are blowing hot and cold this season and by all accounts they were shattered last night after playing a very hard 120 minutes. Thank you St Johnstone. Its up to us now.
-
Its towards the back.
-
I would agree with that. Don't understand why the deadline has to be March.
-
It would cause far more problems than its worth. For a start the Police would not agree and what they say goes. Secondly folk who had paid for tickets would complain in large numbers.
-
No worse than in the POD

A thoroughly professional performance and great to see us hit six goals with so many different scorers. A great team performance. I can't recall the last time I saw us score directly from a corner - can anyone else? Well done to Stuart McCall & Kenny Black.

I'm not in the least surprised. Our support is very diverse and there will be all shades of opinions. Leaving aside the important issue of cost and assuming all our "fans" could afford to join.... there are those who will join willingly to help the club, there are those who are lukewarm and can be persuaded to join, there are those who simply don't care, there are those who are scrutinising the small print if find out if its value for money, these are those who think they give enough already to MFC and there are those who are vehemently against the scheme. Many of our fans simply turn up on matchdays to be entertained and believe the club runs itself. Thats life I guess. Its interesting that Dundee is heading the opposite way. As you'll all know, the club was bought by the fans after the Callum Melville and other disasters. A good thing you might think. They recently took a vote to sell the controlling interest to "white business knights". The vote was lost. However another vote was organised and as far as I know the original decision was overturned. The reason being that Dundee is by right a Premier League Club and ok it will reach the SPL again by bringing in and developing its own young players. However this could take years and the fans simply don't have time. Dundee should be in the SPL next season. Very short termism in my view and a very dangerous path to go down. You'd have thought they'd have learned their lesson. I sincerely do hope that the scheme gets underway but am concerned that the deadline of early March is cutting it too fine as quite a few folk I know are saving up and hard.

I'm a shareholder at Fir Park and although I' no financial expert would agree 100% we are NOT in a mess. At no point in any of the meetings did anyone from the club say that we were in a financial mess. We're not rich, but by the same token are not in any financial trouble.
