  1. Big changes over the summer I think. I'd say that Devine, Vale and Gent will all move on. Shaw should be allowed to return to his parent club. I'd keep O'Donnell and Mugabi as backs ups; Of the others, I'd try to keep McGinn. Nicholson looks to be a player if we can get him fit. Elliot - who knows. Ferrie - not shown up much so far? Spittal is a lost cause, as he'll move on. Can we keep Bair and Miller - maybe one but not both. Slattery is a real frustration as there's a good player in there but he's stalled and now injured of course. Help him to recover and then move on. . I'd like to see a bit more of Nicholson and something of Elliot and Ebileye in the coming games.
  2. It'll be all over the Scottish media shortly.............not. That would undermine Clement's post match comments and that just won't do.
  3. Enough of the biblical banter folks, and I include myself in that rermark! Back to serious discussion. An unexpected odd but interesting signing. I wonder iof this is where the Obileye PCA rumour originated? As Melvin says, I hope so. In te short term it'll give us more srtiking options. He's 6-1, so no wallflower I assume. If rumours are to be beleived he's a bit of a poacher; a type of player we don't have on the books. A deal until summer next year will give us an chance to fully assess him. If he's been with us for a few weeks, I assume that we know a little about him.
  4. Hope he's not a basket case.
  5. The source of the Livingston Obileye PCA rumour? A simple mix up?
  6. Not quite sure why they signed him Ally. They will not finish 3rd. Maybe 4th spot is the holy grail for them? A costly venture for Mr Bowie.
  7. The panel should comprise 2 ex players from each side.
  8. Thanks to Philip and Jay yesterday. I attended the morning Zoom meeting. Its fair to say that the Society had stagnated in recent years. It seems the recent elections have rejuvenated the Board and there's now a wind of change. blowing. I have new found confidence that the Society Board can come up with a workable proposal but it will need members' backing and assistance.
  9. Yes, his great grandfather, I think, hailed frrom Coaltown of Balgonie. He's already been picked up by Canada though.
  10. Yes, I'd offer him an extra year. I doubt if he'd accept 2. No doubt the predators have already been alerted. My kind of player. Skillful, fast but physical enough to hold his own against big defenders. Not in any way dirty. He's certainly won over the fans and rightly so.
  11. An ex work colleague of mine from Fife caused some angst and confusion when he applied for a job with a Local Authority in the west of Scotland. Before deciding which colour of application form to send him they asked him the obligatory question of which school he attended. His reply was St Andrews High School (which is in Kirkcaldy). Hilarious! Not really football related, although he did play for East Fife, but funny nonetheless.

By way of context, Dunfermline recently announced an annual loss of £1m, largely covering the period they were languishing in League 1. Ross County has just announced a loss of £580K - to be made good by Uncle Roy's company.
  13. I was in the SK should go camp and am happy to admit I was wrong. We did go on a horrendous winless run, which would have seen many a manager go but the Directors stuck with him. To be fair, he never lost the dressing room. He's now turned things around and converted draws into wins in our last 2 games. Yesterday was the icing on the cake. It now looks as though we'll be safe this year, although I've learnt never to take these things for granted until the final whistle. The summer will be a double edged sword for him. A lot of hard work and planning will need to go into rebuilding the squad for next season. The positive side is that he'll be able to pretty much build his own team due to the number of likely departures.
  14. Fantastic result today and it was a real team effort. The team showed character to regain the lead after being pegged back to 1-1. Really chuffed for our fans who were there today. What a transformation in Theo Bair from his St Johnstone days! I thought we had a fair shout for a penalty in the first half when Spittal looked to have been held back when boring into the box. Not even a VAR check. SK deserves a lot of credit for turning things around. Our first priority is always to avoid relegation and we look like doing that now with a bit to spare. Encouraging too, from a financial perspective that we look likely to finish above 10th. A top 6 place isn't impossible. Other results went our way today too. A great day to be a Dosser.
  15. No, but it is our wedding anniversary today. Happy days!
  16. Shares have changed hands for about £10 each in recent years. I think the club sets the price.
  17. Anybody enrolled for tomorrow's meetings? I've done so for the 10 am one.
  18. The club directors now need to act quickly, and in tandem with the Society. The shareholders and Society members need to be told basic details of the bids, these 2 and any others, very quickly. I do understand that some details might be commercially sensitive. In the meantime, the Society needs to get cracking working up its proposal. To me, there's no point whatsoever in continuing with lengthy negotiations on the leaked bid (if they are accurate) only for the Society members to chuck them out en masse. We don't want to get to the point of having to vote on detailed proposals in September, August, July or even June, only for the membership to deem them totally unacceptable. What then? The Society will need time to work up its plan. To those Society members against any outside bid, I'd say don't worry. I'm confident that the vast majority of those who voted in favour would reject any ridiculous offers. The recent vote is only advisory and is no way at all binding.
  19. If we're going to sit back and defend, we should take a leaf out of Livi's book. Have we the players to do it though? Centre backs sit deep, wing backs defend crosses out wide; midfield earn their keep by defending 40 yards out and striker(s) closes down advancing defenders. It sounds good in theory!
  20. My idea would involve a new share issue by the club so that any proceeds would go directly to the club and not the Society. That way the Society's shareholding would drop from 71%. As the current club directors can control who buys shares, then any malign actors would be excluded. Also, the Society's share would not drop below 51%. This might also attract some "medium scale" investors like local business people. By itself, that would not be sufficient to plug our financial gap. However it might buy us some leeway and allow the Society to draw up and implement its package of proposals
  21. Just an idea but what if the club was to issue new shares to private investors, including fans. That way the club could ensure that the Society retained overall control. In addition the Society could implement its proposal. A win win scenario.
  22. Not for the first time Denny I agree 100%. As a first step, if I was a disenfranchised and interested member, I would be checking my spam folder and then contacting the Society, if necessary. No doubt some contact details are also out of date.
  23. Thats my take on the situation too. The poll has highlighted serious issues which need addressed. Fortunately, the new Society Board seem to be envigourating matters.
  24. I voted yes. However from what I've heard and what you say, it would be a "NO" from me. A short term modest fix for long term high risk.
