  1. We knew they are a big physical team, good in air. So we keep the ball on the deck going forward and minimise crosses. Team probably needed freshened up for tonight. As far as I can tell, the wind isn't hampering Morton
  2. We look ill prepared for this game and Morton have taken us by surprise.
  3. Well that was coming. Really no surprise. Someone has forgotten to tell the team this is a cup tie.
  4. On paper we're too strong for Morton, but we'll have to earn the win tonight. I don't think we're good enough to sit back for the first 20 minutes or so, give them the glass jaw, and let them run out of steam. Whilst not being overly physical we need to compete with them in midfield and get wellied in. Guys like Power and Broadfooot are no spring chickens being 36 and 39 respectively. Whilst they may have experience, Have they got the legs?
  5. Exactly. Beating Dunfermline 5-0 is no mean feat but beating Ross County 5-0 is an even bigger achievement. Let them worry about us.
  6. Absolutely. Mark Ferrie looks nowhere near ready to step into the first team, even as a sub. He only had very limited gametime at Stenhousemuir. He may be a good prospect and hopefully, we'll develop him, but he needs time. Oli Shaw has some nice touches and had a couple of assists but he doesn't look to be a finisher. Something strange about the loan deal,as has been alluded to. As things stand, the Bair is our No 1, with Vale looking to be a decent No 2, albeit on limited evidence. He looked sharp and pacy on Tuesday and took his goal well. Defenders won't push him around either.

    Club AGM

No doubt he will do so and quite rightly too.
  8. This rumour was doing the rounds on Tuesday evening.
  9. Admittedly we don't live in Lanarkshire or near Glasgow but only 1 of our group of about 10 will be going due to the game being moved to tomorrow night. Had it been on Saturday at 3 pm then over half Would have gone. Does that matter to the BBC or football authorities? No. Their response would be "What's your point caller?"
  10. It was good to see the likes of Devine, Vale, and Nicholson get some game time. Nicholson looks to be a real player and we'll need Vale to step up at some point. He looks big and very fast and took his goal well.
  11. If I have a concern for Friday night its that our defence still doesn't look watertight. Even although we kept a much welcome clean sheet last night against a toothless Ross County were still able to find space and time in and around our box last night, especially in the early stages before we scored. Hopefully, our midfield will defend a tad higher up the park, when we're under the cosh.
  12. An absolute giant of a man, head and shoulders over everyone else on the pitch I'd have him at Fir Park next season in an instant.
  13. He's on about £10k per week at Groningen. Killie, or more likely Bill Bowie are paying about £6k of that weekly plus add ons. That's what I've heard anyway.
  14. A huge result and very entertaining performance. It could easily have been 8 or 9. It was a real all round team effort. Good to see Vale get his first goal on his debut. He does look to have some pace. Nicholson also caught my eye - much more to come from him. What can you say about Blair Spittal? More of this please!
  15. If its possible, its tempting to keep the same team for consistency. However, given the nature of last night's game, we may have picked up a few bumps and bruises i.e. Halliday. Apart from that, will some players need a rest given they'll only have a few days to recover?
  16. I've been a strong doubter, but glad to say he's proving me wrong. He's steadied the ship, so all credit to him. To be fair, he never lost the dressing room.
  17. Whilst it would be nice to win tonight in style and by a barrowload, a single goal win would do us just fine. A fluke goal, a blatantly offside goal, a deflection, an OG, a soft penalty....it doesn't matter.

    Club AGM

The club's AGM will be held on 21 February at 7pm in the Millennium Suite.
  19. Its unlikely we'll keep a clean sheet so we'll have to bank on scoring 2 at least. To do that, our formation and personnel will have to be tweaked to give us more threat in the final third. On paper, the 2nd easiest home game of the season so if we can't win this?
