Quite a few years ago I had the great pleasure of playing golf with Willie Pettigrew, it was the summer that Mark Reynolds was being touted for a £1m move to Rangers. I offered my opinion that Reynolds would be better staying at Fir Park for longer and gaining more experience and that a big money move would obviously follow, the great man's answer was that he could break his leg tomorrow and his career would be over and hat he should grab the money when it was available. At the time I was surprised, but the older I get the more I realise how sensible the argument was. Oh, and I was so in awe of my hero, I could barely swing the club properly,

Personally, I think it is funny that he is one of the few managers we have had who didn't spend the whole of the week leading up to an old firm game telling everybody how good the opposition was. Would he have done well long term? I think it unlikely, but that 6-1 aggregate still gives me a warm glow when I think of it.

The Partick Thistle goalie.

Probably, or we could cancel trident....... just a thought.

Yup, the shop to the left is now McDonald's, Claude Alexander was next to Woolworth's , the Horseshoe is to the right of the bus and it looks like the picture was taken from upstairs in what is now a Turkish barbers. The Post office was down from Claude Alexander and the best shop in Motherwell (Toytown) was above it, the second best shop (the Candy box) was directly across the road from the Post office, or at least that is the unbiased opinion of the seven year old me.

Richard Tait jogged past me in Strathclyde Park yesterday when I was out for my walk, I know people say he has lost his pace but he is a damn sight faster than I am.

Renewed today, the only difficulty was when I tried to donate to the Motherwell FC v Covid-19 link I kept getting an error message telling me that I was using a different delivery location for each, I just had to give up in the end and only pay for my season ticket.

Impossible to see past Campbell, that's as good as any of our team has played for a few months. Long and O'Hara were outstanding and Grimshaw, Gallacher (of course) and Polworth also deserving of a mention.

I wish he were a Hearts fan, they deserve each other.

I almost said that, but decided it was a bit harsh

I'll never forget John Gardner. And some people used to moan about Stevie Woods....

What, not sitting with the rest of the squad.....Boo!

Aldred with the winner for Brisbane roar.

Since the new club entered the league () we have only played them in three games that actually mattered, the two legs of the play offs and the League cup semi-final, and we have won them all. Irritating as our league record is, and it is, none of the games with "them" has had any real effect on us in terms of Europe, top six / bottom six or relegation / play off position. Much as I hate the other cheek of the same arse, I hope Rangers never win a trophy.

Rangers* fans that don't know what they are talking about... Wow! Who would believe that. *Other fans of bigoted clubs are also available.

Thinking about it, the pigeon gave Hartley more trouble than the Hibs forward line.
-
Allan Campbell for me, the back four were solid but were never really pressurised due to Hibs general lack of ambition and our forward players showed in fits and starts but not consistently enough.
-
Tanner, Ainsworth and Grabban(2) also scored today. So did Louis Moult's big brother.
-
Yup, I'm reading his latest one at the moment.. And the author is a 'Well fan.
-
No probs, and yes, it was Polworth I was talking about.

Well said sir, we were discussing him during the game yesterday and, whilst I agree that he wasn't having his best game, he didn't hide and he was still trying to play the correct ball instead of bailing out with a negative pass or treating it like a hot potato. I'll take him over quite a few of the "midfield maestros" we have watched recently.

The question is though; 1, Is Wee Yin highlighting irony by using an example from an Alanis Morissette song which, whilst being allegedly about irony, doesn't actually have any examples of irony in the lyric, irony in itself. 2, Was Alanis Morissette being Ironic because she didn't list any examples of irony, Or 3. Am I overthinking this. Discuss

I didn't think we were too bad today, Livingstone sat very deep, ala Aberdeen and Ross County, but we didn't panic and tried to play football the proper way which gave us the deserved result. Gallacher strolled through the game (again), but I went for Gillespie for his general handling and that save at the end.

No failures at all today, first half Gallacher was so comfortable it looked like he was playing in his slippers, second half Hartley was immense. The midfield was very balanced, McGuire looked as if he had been playing that role his whole life and Polworth and Campbell ran the show. I went with Polworth in the end.
