My first game was a League Cup game v Clyde in 1967, for years I thought it finished 0-0 but according to 'Well again" it was a 2-2 cracker.
I also suspect I was only there because my Mum told my brother he wasn't allowed to go unless he took me with him.
I clicked null vote and always do when I don't attend a game, the reason being if you do either of the other options then you don't see how the voting stands when you revisit the thread.
We were discussing that at half time and I couldn't make up my mind what was my favourite Psycho moment. I decided on the goal in the semi-final but it was a very close call between that and Peter Grant's unprovoked attack on Psycho's elbow.
The first half was as bad as I've watched for a long time, we probably deserved the lead though because Thistle were awful. Second half was much improved, great second from Moult after a sublime through ball from MacDonald and a sweet strike from Marvin which should have put the game to bed. I'll need to watch their goal again but from the Cooper it just looked like a horrendous piece of goal keeping. The next 5 or so minutes were a bit hairy but we at least saw the game out comfortably in the end.
Excellent three points, especially as we didn't play as well as we have been. No failures tonight but special mentions should go to Ripley, MacDonald and Pearson.
At times Crawford Allan seemed to be refereeing a different game to the one I was watching.
"The fact that both our full backs are very limited makes it's difficult to get the wingers in the game and to play much football in general."
The fact that neither of the wingers are prepared to work hard defensively means that our full backs are consistently exposed.
You say tomayto, I say tomato.
My first game at Fir Park was about 1967 - 68 and Joe will forever be associated in my mind with my formative years as a Well fan. One of the best full backs I ever had the privilege of watching, and the best uncapped player bar none. I am very saddened by this news, legend is a much over used term, but not in this case.
Not me, I'm an old fart in the Cooper Stand now, I love what the bois do, I just don't want to sit beside them.
Oh and 53 going on 27, just to join in the other part of the thread.
Perhaps not unexpected given our good record up there but I would have happily taken a point before kick off. Given that we played a new keeper who signed yesterday, we still have last season's central defenders a clean sheet is a very encouraging start. We also seem to have played well all over the park (if the BBC stats are to be believed) creating plenty chances, getting the majority on target whilst stopping the opposition from testing our keeper. 37 more wins and we win the league
I am looking forward to criticising his lack of work ethic, particularly when we are defending and his general all round laziness
Secure in the knowledge that within 2-3 minutes of me starting to moan he normally slaps in a beauty
My head said Rangers but there was always the nagging concern that we would bottle it and the thought of losing to them (again) filled me with dread.
With hindsight I wouldn't change a moment of it
Many good candidates tonight, Erwin, Johnson, Laing, Pearson and Ainsworth were outstanding, McDonald too, just wish he could stay onside occasionally. Voted for Lasley though, covered every blade of grass and totally bossed the midfield.
