Scottish Premiership Motherwell V Dundee Sat 27 Aug 15:00
grumpy replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
Nope, absolutely nothing stuck to him at all today, fair enough you don't expect him to win a majority of high balls, but his inability to pass the ball three yards is incredibly frustrating. Cadden was head and shoulders above the rest today. -
Will We Qualify For The Next Stage Of The League Cup

Kilmarnock -
I don't wholeheartedly agree with the statement But it made me laugh out loud

Heneghan strolled through the first half, Campbell looked very useful, if a bit one footed, and Turnbull looks a player too, Blyth didn't do much wrong but he didn't show much that would suggest he would force his way into the starting 11. The second half was a bit bitty with all the subs and it was hard to judge the keeper or the defenders in the second half because they weren't under any sort of pressure, the first teamers that played all looked in decent condition, and I was quite impressed with Moore's work rate when he came on, a season down at Ayr looks to have given him a lot of confidence. I think McGhee will be quite happy with what he saw and all in all it was not too bad a way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

I'll be there, I need a fix of real football after this poncy Euro stuff

I'm glad it's not just me that couldn't give one f{}£k about the champions(?) league

Wow, just wow!

My first game was a League Cup game v Clyde in 1967, for years I thought it finished 0-0 but according to 'Well again" it was a 2-2 cracker. I also suspect I was only there because my Mum told my brother he wasn't allowed to go unless he took me with him.

Ripley, closely followed by Moult and Kennedy.
-
Stevie Woods in one goal and Billy the Fish in the other, I've got a headache just thinking about them.
-
I clicked null vote and always do when I don't attend a game, the reason being if you do either of the other options then you don't see how the voting stands when you revisit the thread.

We were discussing that at half time and I couldn't make up my mind what was my favourite Psycho moment. I decided on the goal in the semi-final but it was a very close call between that and Peter Grant's unprovoked attack on Psycho's elbow.
-
No brainer today, Scott MacDonald. Honourable mentions for Moult and Cadden.
-
The first half was as bad as I've watched for a long time, we probably deserved the lead though because Thistle were awful. Second half was much improved, great second from Moult after a sublime through ball from MacDonald and a sweet strike from Marvin which should have put the game to bed. I'll need to watch their goal again but from the Cooper it just looked like a horrendous piece of goal keeping. The next 5 or so minutes were a bit hairy but we at least saw the game out comfortably in the end.
-
Skippy, just ahead of Marvin and Moult.
-
Excellent three points, especially as we didn't play as well as we have been. No failures tonight but special mentions should go to Ripley, MacDonald and Pearson. At times Crawford Allan seemed to be refereeing a different game to the one I was watching.
-
Connor Ripley, the save at one nil was outstanding and almost certainly swung the game, the save 10 minutes earlier was none too shabby either.

"The fact that both our full backs are very limited makes it's difficult to get the wingers in the game and to play much football in general." The fact that neither of the wingers are prepared to work hard defensively means that our full backs are consistently exposed. You say tomayto, I say tomato.

I can't believe anyone watches Alba with the sound on.

My first game at Fir Park was about 1967 - 68 and Joe will forever be associated in my mind with my formative years as a Well fan. One of the best full backs I ever had the privilege of watching, and the best uncapped player bar none. I am very saddened by this news, legend is a much over used term, but not in this case.

Not me, I'm an old fart in the Cooper Stand now, I love what the bois do, I just don't want to sit beside them. Oh and 53 going on 27, just to join in the other part of the thread.

Aye but if we're going to win the league we should try and do it in style
-
Perhaps not unexpected given our good record up there but I would have happily taken a point before kick off. Given that we played a new keeper who signed yesterday, we still have last season's central defenders a clean sheet is a very encouraging start. We also seem to have played well all over the park (if the BBC stats are to be believed) creating plenty chances, getting the majority on target whilst stopping the opposition from testing our keeper. 37 more wins and we win the league

I am looking forward to criticising his lack of work ethic, particularly when we are defending and his general all round laziness Secure in the knowledge that within 2-3 minutes of me starting to moan he normally slaps in a beauty
