  1. Will Quinn even be considered, I thought not?

Probably 2, it's the Motherwell way it seems (bar Sutton).

All we know is "Championship Clubs" also Burnley has been mentioned. With a change in Pompey's manager, I doubt they would rekindle there interest in him.

Well we did similar with Hammell, can't see why we couldn't do the same (but obviously the Setanta situation is a factor). As we sold JP for £250k and replaced him with Hammell for what £120k? Resulting in a like for like swap and a bit of profit as well.

According to Sky Sports News he is on his way to Leeds, today.

That must hurt like hell, as we know how beneficial those sell-on clauses are, after we picked up nearly 700k from the McFadden deal 18months ago. It's a great bonus when you receive it. But, must be a horrific time to be supporting your club at the moment, if you are THAT desperate for cash. We can certainly relate after our terrible time in the early-00s.
  7. Would hardly say it is the same, yes Welsh Premier is of lower standard than SPL, but a tad harsh to claim it similar to our Highland league? Doesn't matter if we are at home (as Airdie is hardly "home" is it?), I hardly say us at home to Llanelli (a team who are there on merit for finishing 2nd in their division - compared to us who are there for being nice) is easier than Inverurie away..
  8. They must really fancy us, against the Loco's we were only 1/6 I am sure..

Is it not just a requirement for the club to send a representative to to the interview rather than the manager himself. This exactly why Man Utd used to send Queiroz to BBC Interviews rather than SAF, due to his refusal to do BBC interviews anymore.

To be fair, that is the summation of most football fans in Scotland of McGhee's reign at Motherwell. So, looks as though it is a direct replacement..

RHYL: Kendall, Naylor, Horan, Strong, Stones, Sherbon, Leah, Owen, Hunt, Roberts, Williams That'll be Greg Strong, one of the 19 released from us then? I am guessing he will be chuffed getting one over us (even if it is only a bounce match), after all the problems after his release (along with Martinez, Ready etc).

Well, it seems you will probably never see him as M'well manager now. Surely, he won't be happy after being overlooked twice in a row. Not always a good thing for a legend/hero to return, as it doesn't always work out, and their status forever ruined. Paatelainen being a prime example of this, very similar to Nijholt, both foreign players that took the respective club to their heart, both heroes amongst their fans, both were fans favourite to take over as managers. Mixu failed miserably and Hibs fans couldn't wait to get rid of him. Never wanted it to be balls'ed up with Nijholt and his affinity with us could have become frayed if it had gone tits up.
  13. That correct? The same St Mirren side that only avoided relegation with one game to spare? The same St Mirren side we gubbed at their new stadium, despite not trying to make a tackle (Clarky aside). Compared to us, who with one win would have made top 6? And finished comfortably 7th?
  14. One good thing about being half way down to start with, only taking the half day at the moment on Thurs. And shall leave at Noon on the Thurs and be there in plenty of time. Delibirating whether to take the full day off and get a few more hours to soak up the atmosphere (and more so the drink). But, holidays need to be saved if we are to make it much further in the competition. Decisions.
  15. Did West Ham not do this for Bobby Moore? No one is able to wear No.6, as Upson I am sure had to vacate it, thus allowing it to be retired..?

Seyfo Soley. Souleymane Bamba is a Hibs midfielder signed from Dunfermline (we were in the running for him too and lost out to them). Seems like one we missed as he has been a rock for Hibs, and a fans favourite as well.
  17. After the Nancy nightmare of failing to get through at all, just tried there to purchase away tickets over the telephone. Tried once to get through to the Box Office only to return to the main menu, only to be successful the 2nd time around. Good show for once.
  18. Indeed correct. But, remember whilst doing this we finished bottom of the league. If we try this route again, we won't have a Falkirk Stadium Fiasco to save us this time around. We can't afford a season of giving these guys experience for us to be rewarded the following year. I don't think it will affect us too much if we throw maybe one or at most two of them in at the deep end (in Reynolds style) and let the more experienced players help them out. But, the majority of our team next season can't be fresh youngsters, otherwise most of us know the consequences..

Think it is more a fact they see Klimpl as a direct replacement for the outgoing Severin (Watford). Klimpl is adequate (that term used loosely) at central defence and a decent defensive midfielder as well, very similar to Severin.
  20. Just saw this posted earlier: I know you can't take anything on here as gospel until something official comes out from the club. But, just hoping as to when something becomes official, that things are taken into consideration for ST holders that are unable to reach Fir Park. As there will be people working away throughout the week, fellow people that live far away etc.
  21. So it is a similar situation to Nancy last year, what then happens with your ST holding fans that are in remote/exiled locations. Not as though people, like myself can nip up the road and drop off the stub and fill in a form/paper.
  22. Red Bull Salzburg will be paying a shit-load more than Motherwell. They are rolling in it, in terms of Austrian league standards. They in the past have been able to knock back multi-million pound bids for Marc Janko. They have been able to attract players like Vonlanthen, Zickler and and Kovac (the latter two obviously nearing the end of their careers). With the funding from Red Bull they will be far superior to Motherwell in all aspects. So, Adriaanse and Nijholt must have been on a fair whack. Especially as Adriaanse has history of taking top jobs that as a result can offer decent wages, he wouldn't suddenly just take a massive pay cut to join RB Salzburg.
  23. Try telling that to McGhee and we wouldn't be looking for anyone at this present time..

That was my point, with only a few weeks to go until our first game, no management team in place to sign ANY players.. It is a lengthy process at times, to find our new manager, agree compensation/contract, sign it. For him to then go and identify someone, get a deal in place and have him then on the books of M.F.C. I will find it very surprising if we have anyone in for the first game of our "European Tour". And when you look at our squad and the pending players that are about to leave. We need what 4-8 players to have some sort of squad to choose from.
