Right, this is a game that we need to win handily in order to improve confidence in the team. Three defeats on the bounce isn't good enough, and with Rangers & Aberdeen away coming up next we really need to get a few goals in this game. Despite what some may say, I'd go with pretty much the same team that played last night against Killie, which means that I'd give big Casagolda another runout to see if he can pick up the pace and put the ball in the net. Going on what I saw last night, I have faith that he can turn out to be a good player for us. He was popping up in the right positions, but just seemed a step off the pace. Hammell will probably be out after doing his hamstring last night, but apart from that I'd go with what we put out last night, which I think will be enough to see us through comfortably.

I was encouraged by the fact that he was actually getting into goalscoring positions when the ball came into the box. He just doesn't seem sharp enough, which is understandable given his game time. I think he's worth a run for three or four games, to let us see how he gets on after a chance to bed in. I'd definately start with him on Saturday, as a goal or two could be what he needs to get him pushing on.

There's no debate needed as to the relevance of the points he raises either.

What I don't understand though, is why didn't the club just extend the working relationship to the Trust? Why the need for a new initiative, featuring people who no one knows anything about? I'm neutral when it comes to the controversial past of the Trust, but from what I've seen of them in recent times they have gotten their act together and seem to be doing some decent work.

Do we ever get to know the identities of the people on this committee? Or will it forever be known as simply 'The MFC Supporters Advisory Committee'? For all we know there may not even be any fans on this!

I couldn't agree more. We need to pick up at least four points from these three games I reckon.

That report from the Record at least indicates that he's been trying to sign players, which is a good thing at least. Most of those targets that he said we missed out on were for reasons outwith our control, so fair play to him in that respect.

No, I don't think they are the finished article, but I would imagine that if they are any good they will probably be seeing some first team action here & there by the time they hit 22 years old. If they aren't even in the picture at that age, then I don't think they'll make any real impact. As I said, I hope I'm wrong though.

I'm not seeing many players at 22 years old who are still developing in this day & age to be honest. I initially thought he was 18 or 19 years old. Still, I hope he does do something with the club. I reckon he'll be off without much fanfare in a year or so though.

Then why was he brought in? He's not some youngster that needs to learn the game, he's 22 years old in a few months time.

Has anyone heard anything about Gavin Gunning? I see he's 20 years old, and has been loaned out to clubs such as Rotherham, Bury and Tranmere.

It may seem strange after being knocked out of the cup at the semi-final stage on Sunday, but I'm far more optimistic than I was before the game. I know Killie are doing quite well at the moment, but I fancy us to take at least a point from this game, with three being a good bet. Anyone want to see changes to the team that started the game against Rangers? I guess there's the possibility of Jones coming in from the start on Wednesday, but I'd rather see the same team start the game as did on Sunday.

Certainly a much better performance than I expected, but we did seem to take the foot off the pedal after getting the goal for some reason. Rangers were there for the taking then. I think that game highlights that we desperately need an old fashioned centre forward, and possibly another centre half. Still, encouraging stuff. Bring on Kilmarnock!

You think so? I reckon we're only down to a goal that can be described as pretty special, and have done not too badly. I think we may regret not converting our possession into something more concrete though.

I've spent the better part of two weeks telling myself that were nowhere near good enough to win this game today, and I thought I'd made peace with the idea. Until this morning. When I awoke with a real belief that we can actually win this fucking game!
