Is he just a young lad then?
  4. Sorry for any distress that my mix-up may have caused lads!
  5. I meant tomorrow nights game. I'm likely going to be away from home, so was hoping I could catch the game on my laptop.
  6. Yeah, I meant tomorrow. My heid is up my arse today
  7. Regarding tonights game, does anyone know if the option to listen live on the BBC will be available?
  8. I was thinking of us having done it in the past to be honest. The Premiership is a totally different kettle of fish. Their pricing and quality is so off the chart when compared to the SPL that it's not worth thinking about.
  9. Why are people constantly saying that lowering prices has never worked? It's never been done for long enough to get any kind of result. Lowering prices for the odd game against Inverness or Falkirk isn't going to garner any results, is it? I personally don't think the prices are too far off being reasonable. Like I said before, knocking three quid off the price could make a bit of difference in the long run. I know it certainly would with me.
  10. Forget the lost souls, we need to try and entice the 9 and 10 year olds of today to come to the ground and watch the club on a regular basis. If the current trend continues, and football keeps getting uncercut by other forms of entertainment, what will be the result for clubs like Motherwell 10 or 20 years down the line? We don't have the TV deals, shirt & merchandise sales or international appeal that a lot of other British clubs outwith the SPL have, do we? If the punters who sit in the seats every week are the clubs bread & butter, then maybe they ought to start listening to what they have to say, and start trying to sort some of the problems that have arisen in the past 10-15 years or so. I've already said that the feedback we've had from Leeanne is promising, and I hope a few cost-effective ideas can be tested in the coming few years. I can't really understand why there are petty arguments & bickering going on over certain ideas. Every idea should be welcomed at this stage, regardless of how viable it is. The very fact that people are willing to actually think about the matter is a positive sign. Surely everyone who posts here should be wanting to see more seats filled on a Saturday at Fir Park?

I certainly wouldn't want to be the official who has to try and read your match report if your grammar on here is anything to go by. On a serious note, the guy obviously has nothing to offer, but he's having fun stringing people along with his little hints and suggestions that he's somehow "in the know".

I seriously don't understand why anyone is giving this Milky guy the time of day. He's clearly a wind-up merchant.
  13. Even if Falkirk did bring the amount of fans you say they did, we still got a crowd of 6,000-7,000 fans for a fourth round cup tie against a division 1 team, didn't we? I seriously doubt we would get that now if we were drawn against someone like Dundee or Ross County. I'm assuming that when you say "clubs carried much healthier 'away' supports" that you're talking about Motherwell too? In the end, it shows that fans were attending football regularly back then. I can remember going to games in the mid 80's with my dad and my cousins almost every week. That kind of thing simply can't happen anymore. It's way too expensive. As many others have already said, if other entertainment companies can cut their cloth accordingly in this day & age, then so can football.
  14. In that case, we are this particular business paying customer. To ask for £20 to see a game of the standard we get in the SPL is ridiculous. Not to mention the financial condition that this country is in. Every other form of entertainment has worked diligently to keep their customer base happy, and to try and provide good value for money, yet football clubs seem to think that we can be shafted simply because we are fans of the club. That has been the case for years, but with other more professional, more value for money ways to spend a weekend becoming available, not to mention the small matter of football on TV, things are slowly changing, and they will continue unless the clubs get their heads out of their arses and shift themselves into the modern era. When you throw in the catering as well, and the way the stewards act towards some fans, it's a blatant rip-off. Like I said, any other business being run in this way would have went under years ago. SPL clubs still run their affairs and provide a service that was seen as semi-acceptable in the 70's and 80's. Outwith the Old Firm, we are all living in the dark ages, and it's eventually going to cause some major problems down the line. When you see the shambles we have presently with regards to catering, stadium facilities and the basic cost of a game, it's no wonder that the younger generation are choosing to spend their money on a sky sports subscription and a Premiership teams football shirt instead.
  15. I'm sure there are a fair few lower league English sides with this system as well.

Maybe even a sandwich of any description?
  17. Seeing that thread about Falkirk memories instantly reminded me of the game against Falkirk during our Scottish cup run in 1991. It's amazing to think that we got over 10,000 fans for a 4th round cup game against a 1st division team back then. What would we get for a 4th round cup game against Falkirk nowadays?
  18. Isn't it pretty much the norm down south? Or has only a few clubs decided to go down that route?
  19. "football technique operatives"? I've heard players referred to as "employees", which is fair enough, and us, as people who pay money for a product, are indeed customers. Sure, it's not a phrase that i'd want to see used too much, but the truth is, if any other business offered the same value for money and quality of service as SPL clubs, they would have been flushed down the toilet a long time ago. I'm not bashing the club, as I believe that Leeanne Dempster has made some noises that suggest things are moving in the right direction, but at the same time, we have every right to complain (in a constructive manner where possible) about how the club is treating the fans.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but would it be so hard to set up a couple of franchises in the stadium? A Greggs and maybe a confectionary kiosk or something? This is just another aspect of Scottish football that takes the piss when compared with virtually any other form of entertainment out there.

Maybe. Still, this is 2010. The quality of the catering is a fucking disgrace.
  22. I was kind of hoping that Brown would bring in someone a bit younger who could be a potential future manager.

Does anyone know who it is that provides the catering?
  24. I don't think that providing a discount on pricing for a while is the answer. Lowering prices to £10 per head for the East Stand for a game or two won't make any difference. We need a drop to somewhere around £15 permanently. As I mentioned previously, it's only £3 of a difference, but it seems to be a more acceptable price. I'm not sure if it's the idea of £18 being closer to the 20 quid mark, but £15 sounds a hell of a lot more fairer to me, and such a price would have seen me go a good few more times in the past.
  25. If football clubs looked on their fans as customers, we may not have half the problems we do now.
