I can understand Law going there more than Templeton. Templeton is younger, more time to develop, more chance of international honours. Law, what was his career path going to be? Sheffield Utd, Huddersfield, Tranmere, Coventry, clubs of that size. Is it that much to give up? And I mean no disrespect to those clubs. He's going to be earning as much at Ibrox as he could there without breaking sweat. Like I've said, wouldn't be my choice, but let's not pretend we can't see why he would make that choice...

Does it show he lacks ambition? Maybe. But maybe Law has simply looked and thought "What are my long term ambitions?". As good as he is, in England mid level Championship is the best he's looking at, if he's lucky. He can make as much playing for Rangers, pick up a couple of (worthless) medals, receive adulation of large crowds (they, like Celtic, see themselves as a cause so he will be one of "us" against the world) and have an easy ride against inferior players. Would I have made the same decision? Probably not. Can I understand and sympathise with it? Absolutely...

So he would have earned as much playing against better players? Kind of my point. Offered two jobs on the same money, one a job that'll be really easy the other a challenge? Which would you choose...?

Let's be honest here. Nicky Law was never going to play for England. He was never going to go to a club down South that would win things. So he should be looking as football as a job. He's been offered three times the money for an easier job (for at least two seasons). As good a player as he is, he was never going to play in the Premiership so how was his career going to develop if he went to Sheffield Utd or Huddersfield? Look at it in those terms, can you blame him?

Wouldn't be my first choice but has some things going for him. Willingness to give youth a chance, had Falkirk playing attractive football. As others have said anyway, if McCall leaves then we'll all just be guessing anyway. Don't think anyone would have predicted any of our last four managers when the previous ones left... Guessing is just something we'll do to pass the time until the name is announced...

They've gone into administration since then. Maybe disillusioned with that and the stadium carry on...

I think he'd create more problems than he'd solve on the park. His behaviour with Scotland, undermining of Le Guen, loathsome behaviour. I take my young son to the football. Wouldn't want him idolising someone like that...

Like weeyin, nothing to do with "the Rangers thing". I find Boyd an obnoxious character. Team spirit seems to be good at Fir Park so why bring in a bad apple? Every time I saw him at Fir Park, he would miss about three one on ones with the keeper. Aye, he'd usually score one but he'd have missed a good few. Scoring goals for Rangers or Celtic in the SPL is no real achievement. If you really want to know what Walter Smith thought of him, he picked Sebo ahead of him for Smith's first Old Firm game when he came back. And rarely picked Boyd in Europe. Boyd is fine if you're going to be dominating games and creating loads of chances. Don't think we'll be as likely to do that next season...

Pressley? Wasn't a name I'd thought of but not averse to the idea...

Very few players signing for us would make me have second thoughts about renewing my season ticket. Kris Boyd would be number one on a very short list. I suspect that it's rubbish at the moment. Without knowing who'll be our manager, signings will be on hold. But if Kilmarnock don't want him and we lose Higdon, I can see why it might be a move that we'd consider. Unfortunately...

To be fair, Frazzle nailed his colours to the Joe Jordan mast a couple of pages ago. As unrealistic as that is, he has stated that as his preferred choice...

No, but if he's offered it, he'd be off his head to turn it down. He's put out a winning team that plays attractive football and still crowds aren't going up. He's taken us to second place. Other than a cup win, what else can he achieve here? Sheffield Utd is probably the highest level of job you'll get offered down South by doing well in the SPL (can't see Everton coming in for him, can you?). But if he does well there, like Owen Coyle, a bigger club may come in...
