  1. Odense or Dinamo Zagreb, please. Slight chance of going through over glamour for me...
  2. In the Ross Forbes interview, it said tonight would be his 12th European game, actually only his 10th.. Spotted that looking over someone's shoulder tonight in the pub. Did look like a good read though...
  3. A midfielder doesn't seem the priority unless he's a wide midfielder with a bit of creativity...
  4. On the subject of the new EPL regulations being of help to us, I reckon they might be a hindrance. As well as the 25 man squad that EPL sides will be allowed, they will be aloowed an unlimited number of U21 players. So the chances of those U21 players going out on loan might be slightly diminished. There will be older, more established players that they'll have to sell/send out on loan but I reckon we'll be less likely to get them...

    Hutchinson

If he gets into the team and develops as he did even in his short run in the team last season then we will end up selling him for more than we sold McFadden for...
  6. Bit early to even think about it really. We were poor tonight and I'm sure the Norwegians will be a sterner test than Breidablik. But will they be tougher than Steaua Bucharest who we faced at the same stage last season with pretty much the same squad as we have now (minus Slane, Coke and O'Brien)? And who we had worried for 45 minutes in Airdrie? My concern would be creating chances. No replacement for O'Brien, then we need to look at other ways of getting enough ball to the forwards. No prediction yet, just crossing my fingers that we come back to Fir Park with something to play for...
  7. I reckon TV and internet counts, particularly on this occasion when no replays or commentators to distract you. All I was missing was Frazzle talking pish to me, and I could have sworn I was at the game I went for Murphy. Thankless task, stuck at it and calm finish for the goal. Held the ball up reasonably well against guys physically stronger than him. A good word for Jennings though. I do like the cut of his jib...
  8. Latest is that Everton don't want him to go out on loan so the Coventry deal fell through, they're looking to sell...
  9. When is the signing deadline for the next round...?
  10. We haven't been great but there have been spells in the second half where you could tell we're a better team than we've showed. Small passages of good possession, enough to show signs of promise...
  11. I'm with Virgin and have had nae bother...
  12. Link for those of us struggling to find it...?
  13. One would hope he was getting seven bells (or bellies) knocked out of him...
  14. Am I the only one to think "Aw, naw, I thought we had put this one to bed..". Now people will get their hopes built up again...
  15. When I wrote that part I was actually trying to avoid saying "We won't go down" because that's just asking for trouble. And I'm not talking about it being close for us to go down (I think we'll survive easily), I just don't think it's going to be easy on the eye...
  16. Hits the nail on the head for me. We've been very fortunate in that for the last few years we've normally had at least one player with that kind of exciting spark about them. Other teams have survived in the SPL without one but it's all been about hard work and grinding (Kilmarnock and St Mirren are two teams that spring to mind). Should we not replace Jim O'Brien, it's not certain we'll be relegated but survival will be a whole lot uglier...
  17. Nope. Nowhere as good as he thinks he is...
  18. Given that the good people of choose life have paid up to sponsor us for the two games against Breidablik, it would seem somewhat off to announce a new sponsorship deal before their agreed period is over. Let them have tonight as they've earned then we can announce it whenever we like...
  19. Glad for Smith that he's found a club, and a decent one at that. Never gave anything less than 100% while playing for us...
  20. Just strikes me that although a lot of fans rate Reynolds a lot higher than they did Quinn or Clarkson, we had no problem selling them going into the last year of their contracts. I know there is a recession but clubs weren't exactly awash with money last summer. What is it clubs are not seeing in Reynolds...?
  21. While you could make an argument for Reynolds being more technically gifted than Quinn, Quinn has something that Reynolds does not. The willingness to kick his granny to get a result. This is a quality all top players have and Reynolds just strikes me as not ruthless enough on the field...
  22. Difference being that McFadden and Pearson actually feature for their clubs (have heard Pearson mentioned before when he was out of favour elsewhere, never McFadden), Porter has had problems establishing himself at Derby mainly due to injury. For what it's worth, I agree, probably a load of rubbish, but I can see the logic in the rumour. Brown has contacts at Derby, Porter knows Motherwell, needs a run of games, Motherwell need a striker. Of course, this is a case of 2+2+2=3167, but it's not the most ridiculous suggestion I've heard this summer. The Alan McCormack one is always a belter...
