  1. Signing Heneghan would be frankly ridiculous. Our squad is already on the large side. The fact that Mugabi, Dunne, Carroll, Donnelly and Lamie are injured doesn't mean we're not paying their wages...
  2. Noticed that PJ Morrison came on for Falkirk on Saturday after their keeper got sent off. That led me to glance at their squad and noticed a fair smattering of former Motherwell players. Saturday featured Ben Hall, Morgaro Gomis, Conor Sammon and Robbie Leitch. Next week will probably see their third choice keeper on the bench who is apparently also on loan from us (if wikipedia is to be believed)....
  3. I could have voted for Watt but as I knew he'd 2in this poll easily I gave my vote to Polworth. As good a game as I've seen him have in a while. McGinlay put in a fantastic cross for the first goal, but the pass out to him was something to behold as well...
  4. Obviously hamstrung by players not being available today but not a fan of us playing 433. Long offering next to nothing, if we're persevering with 433 bring Lang on for him. In future, I'd prefer 352 with Cole and Watt up top...
  5. O'Hara at centre half is one of those decisions that if it works well looks like a tactical masterstroke but if it goes badly, will look really bad. Time will tell...
  6. If you look at the SPFL as an organisation then each team as a 'department' has to be under scrutiny in the current climate...
  7. Choosing my words carefully here, I know of a workplace where several departments have been hit by large outbreaks among staff while others have remained pretty much unscathed. PPE is plentiful in each area and protocols are identical. Some of the areas that have been hit heavy are not as high risk as others that have been largely untouched. Is it dumb luck or have some been complacent? Impossible to tell, but certainly worth investigating...
  8. My own personal opinion would be that our 'high profile' players are Carson, O'Donnell, Gallagher, Campbell and Watt. Whether whoever told you that would include others in that list, I couldn't say...
  9. Grimshaw's positioning makes that entirely possible, some might argue...
  10. If it's Gallagher, then you're looking at a back four of Grimshaw O'Donnell Lamie McGinlay Picture that...
  11. Not so sure O'Donnell will be away unless we can't afford him. He's been decent but I don't see where he would get a move to...
  12. Pretty sure they were both there at the same time. Sengewald's only highlight was the win against Celtic and that was the same season we beat Rangers and Lehmann definitely played that night...
  13. Was just about to post that I reckon any second keeper we bring in will be a free agent so no need for us to get it done tonight...
  14. We don't count as domestic to an English club...
  15. As with a lot of social media output, some people do it for the likes and retweets. Don't see the point myself but then, like yourself Dave, I'm of different generation. At least when journalists do it, it's their job...
  16. Like any manager with a small squad in the situation after a heavy defeat, Robinson can't afford to hang people out to dry publicly as he'll have to rely on them going forward. Suspect he realises that two or three of the new signings haven't been good enough but saying so in public when he doesn't have alternatives isn't going to help...
  17. Losing to Rangers is nothing new. Concern is that Rangers didn't have to be good to win today, simply not make any mistakes and wait for us to gift them goals. Again not particularly new but the lack of spark and reaction from us was alarming. Maybe a hangover from Thursday's exertions and travel, maybe the lack of atmosphere but alarming...
  18. I suspect the move to 352 was prompted by all of our wingers being shite and none of our strikers being able to play the lone striker role...
  19. Ha! I obviously meant O'Hara and Crawford at the back end of midfield...
  20. Drop him. Play a back four of Grimshaw, Mugabi, Maguire and McGinlay. We'll probably lose the game anyway so a message needs to be sent. Play a box midfield four with Crawford and Polworth sitting and Polworth and Campbell in front. Front two of Lang and Watt...
  21. Players that emerged with credit were Watt, Campbell and Grimshaw. Polworth and O'Hara were solid if unspectacular. Carson did nothing wrong. Gallagher and O'Donnell need to have a look at themselves. The other three starters probably aren't good enough although McGinlay was playing out of position. I went for Watt...
  22. I don't disagree that this is as far as we would expect to get but having seen the team that put us out, I've seen us beat better Old Firm teams (granted also seen us scudded by worse teams) so there's a degree of frustration at what might have been. Having said that, I've seen us lose 3-0 to Airdrie at Fir Park. Puts it in perspective a bit...
  23. McGinlay may not be great (and should have conceded a pen himself) but he's playing as spare man in a back three, probably not a role he's played very often. As a left wing back, he needs work but Carroll started last season slowly so you never know. I know who I blame tonight and it's not Nathan McGinlay...
  24. McGinlay and Lamiie may be poor players but need to look at the two 'experienced' players tonight. That performance from Gallagher has been about his average this season and O'Donnell has been dreadful tonight. I always say that if a player doesn't have the ability, criticise the manager for picking them. If a player has ability and doesn't perform, criticise the player. Not a massive fan of Robinson but tonight is on two of our more experienced players....
