Converting Maguire into a defensive midfielder isn't a bad idea if he has the attributes to play there. But given the number of centre midfielders we have at the club (I count six, maybe seven), is there any realistic chance of him getting a game there for the first team? Why re-sign both Rose and Grimshaw if the coaching staff feel that's Maguire's best position? Regards signing the guy from NEC, I don't see the point. Why sign a winger when Robinson's system has no use for them? Like Frear, he'd be picking up a wage with no real place in the team...

On the basis of the season so far, Main being out would not hinder us much...

I'd be tempted to revert to a McGhee style squinty 442 for this game. Gillespie Tait Aldred Hartley Taylor-Sinclair Bigirimana McHugh Campbell Frear Johnson Sammon Cadden needs a rest but Frear isn't a wing back so playing him there doesn't do him or the team any favours. If playing three at the back then Taylor-Sinclair or Livingston should play left wing back. Just feel that Frear started the season well and creates chances more than anyone else in our team so would like him in the team but not at wing back...

Aldred was garbage. Hearts kept allowing him to have the ball knowing they'd get it back soon enough...

Losing is fine, what is unacceptable is the way the team totally loses its shape when a goal down. In both the Accies game and today, panic set in. It was like boys brigade football with everyone chasing the ball. Amateurish. And don't get me started on Robinson's substitutions...

I was always thinking January for Tanner given he had missed pre season. Dunne had pre season but like Hartley might take a while to get his sharpness back. I wouldn't have too much hope in seeing either of them this side of the winter break...

Don't ask me how or why I stumbled across the information, but it appears that Luke Watt and Robbie Leitch both appear to have signed for the same Croatian third division side. Anyone any idea how that came to pass? Seems a strange one to me...

As has been pointed out, us signing a centre half would seem strange. Not a massive fan of the combination we have at the moment but given the numbers we have, it would seem like overkill...

Watched the game on TV. Good team performance, hard to pick out a man of the match. Instinctively, wouldn't go for our defenders as we conceded three goals. Bigirimana was probably the pick of the midfielders, Johnson was the best up front. I'd go with Bigirimana as he was a large part of how we controlled the last 20 minutes...

To be fair, there weren't many situations where he could have given them anything. Don't remember any incidents in the game where a ref could have gone for them...

Goals this season. Sammon - 3 Main - 2 (one off his head he knew little about, one thrown in by a goalkeeper) Just saying... As it is, my preferred front two would be Bowman and Johnson. I reckon it's underplayed how many of Main's (and Moult's before him) goals were helped by the fact that Bowman is such a willing runner of the channels, dragging defenders with him...
