  1. Cadden has only played around 20 senior games, McGinn has played around 100. If Cadden continues to perform at the same level that he has, I'm pretty sure an Under 21 call will come sooner rather than later...
  2. I would imagine we'll be looking to cash in on him next summer. Could see him going very far in the game. Looks very assured and confident for someone who's played less 20 senior games. And physically has all the tools...
  3. I would give Leitch and Moore deals. There's a place for squad players and is Leitch is any worse than Gomis as backup? Could Moore not have contributed as much as Robinson and Clarkson? I don't imagine they're going to be asking for the earth in wages...
  4. While I might not disagree with your general point about replacing Jennings (disagree about Hutchison as we have three young centre backs with potential) and I agree that we need to think about how we'll replace the older players, years of decline??? As it stands, we could finish fourth. I make the last four seasons 2nd, 2nd, 11th and 4th. One bad season does not mean years of decline...
  5. Dave, I'm looking for Motherwell vs Inverness from 23rd July 2011 if you have it..
  6. Never been that impressed with Osman but you're not the first person I've heard say that they think he could do a job for us...
  7. I know that St Johnstone have already made an offer but I'd hope we would be looking at Blair Alston from Falkirk...
  8. Today Jake Taylor, Nathan Thomas, Chris Porter, Bob McHugh and Michael Higdon have all scored. If you're playing former player bingo...
  9. Deserved to lose the game but a scunner of a way to lose it...
  10. Frankly on the basis of the performance so far, all they've had to do is turn up...
  11. Same team as last week. Hall back on the bench in place of Fletcher. No striker on bench is a slight concern...
  12. I know the debate ended up as that and it's a debate that I'm not that interested in. My interest is in where we can flog our assets to for the highest price... For me the Ins & Outs thread isn't for debating whether we're better than Coventry. Oh, and Griffiths may be more technically gifted now, but not when he left for Wolves...
  13. It would require Kilmarnock, a team who have won 7 games out of 32, to win 5 out of their remaining 6 games AND Hamilton (8 wins out of 32) to win 4 out of 6. So, aye, we're safe...
  14. One of whom was playing for Motherwell eight years ago. The point is that players can make the move from the SPL to the Championship and thrive. And I think that was the initial point, why can't Johnson be one of those players to make the switch effortlessly? Why couldn't he be a McCormack rather than a Goodwillie or Griffiths? Particularly as, like McCormack, he is decent technically...
  15. Moult. I love this guy. If he doesn't win Motherwell POTY, there should be a steward's enquiry...
  16. Worth pointing out that we've been winning games with a 433 and a midfield of Lasley, Pearson and Cadden. Had to do without all three in the second half today and somehow got the win...
  17. If you don't like Louis Moult, you don't like football. Outstanding character shown by the team today. Ran themselves into the ground for the cause. Amused by some Aberdeen fans after the game "Celtic in disguise". Obviously we were expected to lie down for the good of Scottish football...
  18. Not a bad lineup. I figure that McGhee went with Leitch rather than McDonald in midfield as the front three have been working well together and breaking that up is the last thing he wants to do...
  19. Similar to Cadden, can play wide but also centrally...
  20. If Lasley's unavailable, I'd like to see McLean get a shot, assuming he is available...
  21. So you're looking at close to £5m to break even? If our core support of 3000 each paid an average of £10 a month into the society (optimistic, I know), that would raise only around £360,000 a year. 2500 season tickets at average £300 raises only £750,000. Obviously you add in TV money and prize money and other revenue the club brings in but you start to wonder how a club like ours can ever break even and I'm impressed we even got as close as we did...
  22. I appreciate that. What I'm asking is to be at the level we're at just now, how much does it cost?
  23. Just a question for those who pay more attention than me, how much roughly would the club have to make each year to break even?
  24. We have Kennedy and Watt for right back and Gomis, Cadden, Leitch and McLean for midfield. Why spend money we don't have to...?
