I like Bowman with all his energy and enthusiasm but he is not a footballer
-
The play was up the other end, it was the first half, he ran from corner flag to corner flag about 6 yards into the pitch, he ran between the goal and Carson who was on the 18 yard line, he wasn't interested in interacting with any players or interrupting the game, his focus was on his audience in the crowd, then he went on his arse.
-
The story of the match doesn't show the fud that ran on to the pitch, short changed!
-
He got another shot away tonight and a few balls into the box, maybe the deeper position suits him?
-
Given that the second half was largely played 30 yards in front of the away support I had the opportunity to get a good view of our strikers. For all his sand dancing at the end and his energy levels, Ryan Bowman is not a footballer.

Turnbull and Cadden the star men, a clean sheet, is that our first?
-
The goal that Cadden scored should be getting attempted every game, play the ball up to a big boy on the edge of the box, he lays it off for an advancing midfielder to stroke it into the net, easy.
-
Bits and pieces of football being played tonight but we don't have enough footballers in the team to take advantage of any opportunities, on the balance of play we are the better team but a one goal lead leaves me with no particular confidence.
-
It does seem like it but realistically we could do next to nothing until Christmas sign a couple of standouts and still have time to pull clear. Won't happen though.
-
Main could be a good option off the bench

If they are loud enough they are old enough

What is the make up of the Bois? Do the older boys move on and get replaced with a younger crew or is it the same group of people who have been involved over a number of years?
-
As much as we are praising Turnbull I would hate to think that a run in the team would see him removed from the 'colts' team for their cup match.
-
I don't think defence is a problem other than the tendency to concede free kicks outside the box, our problems are our lack of forward looking options, no goal threat, no opportunities created, no decisive through ball (Turnbull excepted). We have enough reasonable defenders to keep it reasonably tight at the back. We need to convert 0-1 results into 2-1 results.

If the player that causes the injury is booked the injured party doesn't need to leave the field after treatment, no booking yesterday -

Just think if he had been able to put on Hastie and James Scott, the crowd would be lifted, extra energy in the team, who knows we may have managed a 0-0 -

Do you still have your boots? -
Something needs to change, it doesn't have to be the manager but perhaps the attitude and approach. Who is going to make that happen though?
-
No beef with Frear usually but today was awful, each thing he tried was thwarted, no impact whatsoever. I think Bowman is a very negative player with the ball at his feet, always turns away from goal to try and protect the ball rather than being positive. The team in general tended to look to play the ball back or even wider than we already were. Turnbull was man of the match because he played the ball forward twice.
-
Is this something clever that I don't understand or have you just proved yourself to operate at the level that we all thought?
-
Was at the semi final today, it looked like a younger fitter team against an older more experienced team and we did well to get the win, interesting that each goal was a ball into the box from the right. I thought that we were a bit short in midfield, many of the free balls falling to Spartans girls and a willingness to play the ball back into the pack rather than to isolate someone out wide. However the overall performance was great, I guess Hibs may be a game too far but more importantly how are we going to shake things up for the league next year, are there youngsters coming through or is there a recruitment drive needed?
-
He's here till Christmas so a waste of a discussion, I see him as part of the club so am as keen for him to do well as I am for any of the players who take the field. He has a run of games to take points, then a run of games to prove his qualities, I don't need him to win the league but I need him to show improvement across the piece.

Great game, thoroughly enjoyed it, almost made me wonder if I would enjoy Championship football next year, as Turnbull is the class act I will be harshest on him and say occasionally he dallied on the ball too long when he could have made a pass, but overall there were no failures. Double header for me as I will take in the women's team tomorrow at Forthbank, it's the Scottish Cup semi final and we have a chance of winning this game.
