    Lasley.

If thats true then we can dispel the notion that Robinson was the cheap option. Pretty sure Lasley would have been cheaper and we would have got the two for one player/manager savings.
  2. Its the same in any walk of life. Just because a few people shout loud, doesn't mean they represent the majority opinion.
  3. Im a big lionel fan, but you just can't keep the guy unless him and the manager understand each other and the manager plays him in the right position more often than not. What we have got out of him this season is not good enough. If him and Robinson get their acts together i wouldnt mind seeing him stay, but its a total waste of wages keeping him to play him in set ups and positions that he can't work in.
  4. That for me, gets to the crux of what we demand for Moult. Whats the difference to the club in terms of cash between Premier league and Championship? Whatever that figure is, thats the value of Moult. Without him, (or a decent replacement) we go down. Fuck accepting £200k for him because we are scared he leaves for nothing. Staying up, is worth more than £200k to us. Given the lack of quality across the rest of the squad, we need good money in to rebuild, or we keep him for a year.
  5. I must have a screw loose but i watched those extended Alba highlights. I hadnt appreciated at the game itself quite how poor we were. We really have regressed this season. Head tennis, long balls, panic stations. No spark, no creativity.... Next year really does require a massive rebuild. If we carry on the way we are going but lose Moult then we are well and truely fucked!
  6. As a wise man once said, "lets not go sucking each others dicks just yet", but fuck me, what a relief getting that result. Still work to be done but a big effort on Tuesday and we might be there. We can worry about performance and ability later, lets face it, aside from Moult, Skippy when he's not being a dick and Lionel when he shows up, we are seriously lacking. Not a pretty game, some more diabolical mistakes that accies were too pish to punish us for, but we got some luck and it was a belter. What can you say about Moulty? Love the guys effort, ability and application but he celebrated that goal as if he was born a 'well fan. Love the guy, we are going to miss him. Without him, we would have been relegated. Mon the 'well!
  7. Why? Its part of the stadium, its been fully vetted by HSE, it regularly hosts hordes of Rangers and Celtic fans. Why would the police not allow a limited number of pay at the gate 'well fans?
  8. Ruddy, Randolph and even Ripley all better than Cammy Bell!
  9. Sitting in a pub in aviemore, (got a 2hour pass from wife&wean). Went from thinking this was going to be a brilliant afternoon at ten past 3, to bricking it already!
  10. Im pretty sure he has a hat full of assists this season, despite hardly featuring. Did he not come off the bench and provide the cross for Moults equaliser at Accies at New Year?
  11. That would be a kick in the baws. Moulty does love a goal against the accies
  12. Just got a feeling 3-2 to the 'well. Moult to score first. 425/1. *Nope, not been drinking.
  13. I know where you are coming from, but no. We have been in the top league for 30+ years now. Its the accepted norm. In those 30 years yes we have had a few seasons dicing with going down, but not overwhelmingly every season, and if you look more recently, we are more likely to be fighting for the top 3 positions, at least over the last 10 years. Yes, for older punters who have lived through relegations, not going down is good, but the reality is that that is now history, times have moved on. We now have multiple generations who have never seen it, and it certainly is not the norm for Motherwell to be relegated. For these fans, avoiding relegation should not be seen and will not be seen as a good season. Infact, avoiding it by the skin of our teeth is a bad season.
  14. Honestly, maybe a little. We certainy showed more fight and for the first 20 mins easily the better team. Killie came on to a game after that. 2nd half we were a bit more threatening with the changes but we were not humping them. We scratched and scraped our two goals and rode our luck (3 off the woodwork). The worst bit was once we went ahead we retreated to tried and tested/failed tactics of everyone sitting too deep. Invited all the pressure onto us and lucky to escape. The win gives us some breathing space and stops the rot. I am a little worried it papers over cracks. Still, a wins a win. Mon the 'well!!
  15. Maybe not quite accurate. Hearts didn't really present us any problems until we went a man down. But yes, in general, we are terrible
  16. Thats the second time I have read McNamarra on these forums. Why would he be worthy? Got Dundee United into a hole they couldn't escape from whilst lining his own pockets then got punted from York after a record breaking run of losses. No thanks.
  17. I would agree with that, but I also wonder as to what extent McGhee’s bizarre formations, and selections had to do with the team either losing interest or quite frankly, ‘not having a skooby’ what they are meant to be doing. Lets not forget that in the last couple of months the manager has embarked on some kind of experiment to make us harder to beat, forgetting that we have a shite keeper and defence and more importantly neglecting the fact that in McDonald, Moult, Ainsworth and Cadden we have some of the best attacking weapons in the league. I do wonder if the set ups he has been employing of late, rather than telling them to go out and win the game have contributed to the apathy of the team. It must be quite galling to be an attacker in that team at the moment. Aside from the last few months, he has actually done a good turn for us. He took control of Barracloughs failing team and turned them into a top 6 unit. He’s got a sale for Marvin, started to introduce the youngsters and with Moult and Cadden we have sellable assets. He’s also kept us (until recently) in a reasonably comfortable position in the league. Until Saturday I was still on his side, but the way the first half unfolded, with Dundee basically camped in our half for 20 minutes and our players not knowing what they were doing started to change the tide for me. On the positive, the new man will have time to turn things around. We are not yet in the relegation positions and we are only a stones throw from top 6. Making the change now gives us the chance to get things sorted and potentially not even worry about a relegation fight. Leaving it longer and the writing was on the wall I’m afraid.

    Boycott ?

    Boycott, fucksake get a grip
  19. Moult clearly loves scoring goals. If you are suddenly playing in a team who sets out to be defensive week after week then its going to get you down after a while. Once we get our Celtic tanking out the way hopefully McGhee can open up a bit and use our attacking resources.....
  20. What is Fletchers problem? He was a diddy and the fact he's managed 1 goal in the Welsh Premier League backs this up. Reading his twitter he seems to think he's billy big time. Sour faced walloper!
  21. Well if he reads them again hopefully he reads this. Lionel can be a great player, but only as a right winger. Anywhere else on the park is a total waste of a jersey.
