I don't know anything about it but lets not forget, there was a full 6weeks between McCall leaving and the new manager taking up post. Plenty of time to consider whatever he wanted.

A bit brutal to watch but the win is the most important thing and we'll gladly take it. Obviously we got the breaks yesterday with the card and on the line decision but we really are due something. Even one game in we can see the new managers changes in philosophy. A much more possesion based game and passing the ball out from the back, not pretty yesterday but hopefully that will come as the players get use to it. Nice to see a different approach as well. Other positives for me was giving youth a chance (ferguson, erwin and thomas) all getting game time, and playing Ojamaa and Ainsworth at the same time. Unfortunatly neither were at their best and Lionel is far more comfortable on the right. A good start for the new man and a much needed win. Lets see if we can follow it up with 3points next week.....
-
Yes and no, we'v got both Ojamaa and Ainsworth starting which hasn't really happened much this season. About time in my opinion, they are our two weapons, if they are on their game we might start looking dangerous
-
I think it probably was the worst half time reception they have had since Malpass. I think it was probably the worst 45 minute performance we have put in since Malpas as well.
-
We need to remember what he says isn't the same as what the papers headline. He didn't come out an say, "We are going to win the league" in a Football Manager game stylee. What he said was that winning the league should be an aim for the team......"why not?". I think that's a fair comment. Of course the chances of winning the league are very slim, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying to do it.
-
Didnt you ask someone how many goals and how many assists vigurs has as a way to justify why you think he's poor? Apparantly you dont rate Ainsworth either so best apply the same evaluation criteria. How many does Ainsworth have? Two assists from his 45minute spell yesterday alone i believe
-
Ojamaa motm as far as I'm concerned.
-
Not really, no. The bookies don't have a hotline to MFC. If they knew that someone else was getting the gig, then said someone else would have favourite odds. What they will be doing is responding to a tip, or responding to punters piling onto Van Der Gaag lastnight.

So Butcher and Adams both felt the need to pull out of the running 'in the press'! Seems like a bit of face saving to me Oh, and regardless of why or how he pulled out, thank fuck!

^We are 11points off 6th place right now. With games against Ross County and St Mirren coming up we could be much closer by christmas. Of course the reverse is true, we could be miles off the pace and rock bottom on our own by Christmas. The point is that Milo asked if it was our worst in 40years, the reality is that we only need to go back 6years for a similar struggle.
-
Well im not a stato, but im not a panty wetter either. Christmas 2008 we were joint bottom of the league after a shite performance at Accies if i remember correctly?
-
Dan again. Thought Ojamma was prettt good in the first half, but drifted out of the game in the second half.
-
Is that when he had us finish bottom aye??
-
If thats true, it will be a major reality check, and probably take us down to a comparable level of quality with St Mirren and Ross County. Need to pick up a few December wins and try and put some daylight between us. Would also expect that if Ojamma is available, there will be plenty of our competitors interested which would be a right kick in the baws

^ As much as im not a Clarkson fan, you can only pish with the cock youv got, and DC has scored 8 in 8! Can't argue with those stats. What i think it shows, is how poor our league has become that David Clarkson is ripping it up!
-
Probably at Kenny Black for bringing on a defender rather than Ainsworth when you are 2-1 down and have 5minutes left to try and stay in the cup! I know i commented on this point yesterday but it still sticks in my craw far more than the defensive mistakes. We actually had an opportunity to at least try and do something to salvage a draw and replay. Is Ainsworth our top scorer this season? Unsure but he cant be far off it. He also caused a lot of damage to United in the game 3weeks ago. Throw the boy on, we might lose 3-1 but at least we lose 3-1 going for it rather than settling for a 2-1 defeat and not trying. Weir, Wilson et al should show Black the door right now on the back of that decision as far as Im concerned.
-
Dan without a doubt. Ojamma was superb in the first half
-
Josh law was much better than usual today IMO
-
Played really good in tbe first half and losing Lawson really affected us. Whether he was the difference or United stepped it up im not sure, but reid doesnt offer the range of passing to link the midfield and attack as lawson does. Second half it was all United. Dan played a stormer today and didnt deserve to be on the losing team. Really, while im dissapointed to be out the cup, im only angry at Kenny Black. To think about bringing kerr on for a defender at 1-1 was bad enough signaling he was happy to take a draw. They score, we are heading out the cup with 5mins to go and still bring him on when we have attacking options in Ainsworth and Thomas on the bench is unforgivable! Also, as much as Josh Law is shite, he was actually half decent today.

Whats the point in getting a new manager and then he gets punted a week later if we get new ownership?? Imagine we had appointed McKinley, and then the South Americans took over, poor guy would be lucky to get his 3 game run with us. The board are doing this correctly, Black can handle the ship until we get ownership sorted out, at which point whoever is running the club can put a manager in place who supports whatever their ambition for the club might be.
-
Do you really not 'get' the phrase??
-
I can't imagine we are considering him. Potential future owners might be but i doubt the current group are after him
-
Was he bullying as well?
-
I said when McCall resigned that Malky would be an outstanding appointment if we could get him. Not convinced we could but if he was at all interested, the board should at least sound him out. Would expect he would be able to get some good loan deals in. Plenty managers thought he got a tough deal under Tan.

Rather Calderwood than Adams but don't want either. Adams plays drab, defensive football (not something thats going to entice fans to Fir Park). He's also a moaning face wee runt who will always find someone to blame for a defeat be it the ref, linesmen, pitch, dirty opposition tactics, you name it. While some of our fans might not have appreciated McCalls nicey nicey approach in interviews, at least he was able able to be the bigger man and accept that sometimes you are beaten by a better team. From what i've seen, Adams doesnt have the ability/class call it whatever you want to take a defeat on the chin.
