Simple, play with the same formation and tactics as we have the last 3games Thistle will pass it round us and give us a humping. Change the team philosophy to something which actually tries to threaten the opposition goal and we will at least see a positive performance. Hoping it all clicks and we leather them, scared McCall keeps with the formula of the last few games and we take another defeat

Hughs was pish last season for Aberdeen which is why they tore up his contract and sent him on his way. Not good enough for a shite aberdeen team = not good enough for us!

Yes, a big punt from a goal kick and a knock forward to beat the offside trap. The very definition of long ball football, Im not seeing your point here at all. If you thought there was anything creative in that build up, you are either off your head or more likely reverting to the your overly pedantic online persona. More worryingly than the manner in which we scored the goal was the fact that for the remaining 89 minutes I don't think we sent anything at all at the Aberdeen goal! I agree with you here that McCall likes to keep it on the deck and play football, that much has been obvious in the last 2.5 years. I hope you are correct in that it will come in time. I also hope you are correct in that we match up well against ICT and Killie.

I usually like to be in the half full camp, but I have to agree with BigColin here. I haven't seen anything yet to suggest we offer anything going forward other than a high ball over the top. I can't see any creativity and craft to break down the opposition. Hopefully everything clicks this weekend, but I expect us to get beat.

Agree with that. A winger is not going to help us drive at teams through the middle the way Nicky Law or Ojamma used to do. A winger, if he's half decent will provide us an out ball. If he's good then he'l be man marked in a couple of games and back to square one. The reason we were so good last season was that aside from Lasley and Higdon, all our middle to front players were creative flair players that could make things happen. Mark Humphrey and Faddy, no problem, Law and Ojamma stepped up and used the space. With the greatest respect to our new signings, I can't see them doing the same.

For all the Aberdeen plaudits, I reckon our team from last season would have murdered them today. Doesnt mean anything, Aberdeen may well turn out to be the second best SPL team this season, but theres noway they are superstars

Wee higgy can take players on and drive forward from midfield. Certainly couldnt have been worse than what we had on the park today!

Shocking performance, no drive, no creativity. Did we have any shots on goal apart from our goal? Against Hibs, midweek and now today we look to be playing route 1. Big ball over the top, end of story. If thats the case its going to be a long season ahead. Possibly made harder to take having watched last seasons all out attacking team. Change of tactics required! On the positive side, i liked McCalls interview. A real rallying call, write us off at your peril! I trust McCall, but please Stuart, lets start attacking. We have a decent midfield, dont bypass it every time!

I've not either, but my mates a thistle fan and he agrees with the general forbes consensus you see on here. Great technical skills, no engine. Hes worried about his ability to step up to SPL level. Will be interesting to see how the lad gets on.

Gunnar had a good game lastnight, but Hollis kept a clean sheet at Easter Road. McCall has said Hollis will get his chance and based on Easter Road, he doesn't deserve to be dropped. If he fucks up then we get to see a wee run at what Gunnar can do, but until then Im happy enough for Hollis to play.
