Aye. Its good to have a manager that knows McGarry is pish!
-
I know what you mean, but is it a business secret really? If McGhee has already moved on? And the more I think about it, as much as it's the work of Judus Escariot in our book (the 'well fans) isn't it something thats accepted in every other work of life? OK, theres a lot of youngsters that come on this forum, but from my experience theres also a good few of us guys in the real world. We all know that when it's time to move on you take your contact list, your workplace cv, pretty much everything you have ever worked on for your current employer, and anything else which will help you get on in your new job. So whilst it is sacrilage to us, what the cabbi was telling me, isn't it something that the rest of us get up to in our careers when we get the chance??

Right, before we go further I will be first to admit that i always was a vehement McGhee defender, appreciator, supporter etc.etc, and im also a little bit drunk. As time go's on we hear more and more and see Jim Gannon deliver. So, tonight after the game im taking the breadknife out for a nice meal to celebrate her birthday (really I was still celebrating todays match!) Im talking to the taxi driver, telling him about the 'well, and how Forbes and Slane are going to be running the show for Scotland in a few years...... He starts telling me that he's driven John Boyle about alot. Boyle tells him that as good as McGhee was, Boyle wasn't happy that McGhee always said something was missing, even though we provided him with everything he asked for. Then, supposedly near the end Boyle got wind of McGhee doing a 'quiet deal' with celtic for two of our youngsters! Boyle himself slammed the brakes on that one! He didnt have names but given what we'v all read on here its a good guess to think Slane, and if McGhee had sense, Forbes too. What a prick! If the taxi driver is to be believed (and this is a Glasgow taxi driver, not a 'well one) and my wine soaked ramblings, then McGhee is a bigger fanny than even Melvin Bragg thought, and John Boyle has continued his summer of playing a blinder!! Mon the 'well!!!!!

Put it simply, today was light years ahead of what even the most optimistic of us would have thougt possible early July in the midst of the firesale. We fucking leathered them, especially in the first half. Yes, it wasn't as comprehensive and assured total attacking performance as we were putting in after 3 months of McGhoo, but im now pretty sure thats gonna come. Hutchinson is so assured at the back and has now a proven goal threat Forbes is going to be the main man for a good while yet and will play at a much higher level than us. Whenever the ball falls to his left peg he's looking to ping it top corner Saunders - i thought he was alright last season when chucked in, wasnt that impressed in the euro run, but the lad had a great game today! Slane-how has anyone in this thread said anything bad about the guy, he only got 15 minutes and lit the place up. He is without doubt the new faddy. When he came on the stadium stood up. First real effort was a belter of a run up the park. As for not passing, i thought the boy would have scored had he shot, rather than back heeled to jennings. The boys gonna get better and better. Impact sub sometimes, but he's too good to keep on the bench for long.

When we consider we are essentially playing an team of under 23's + Craigan, I reckon its vital we get off to a flyer. A couple of wins in those first two matches will give the boys confidence and set them on their way. If they come down with a bump and beaten in two of the easier games then it will take something out them and I could imagine we'd be in for a long hard season. As for tomorrow, head says 2-2. Heart says 4-0 Welcome to the SPL St Johnstone Mon the 'well!

A legend that only escaped getting us relegated, on a technicality!
-
Getting sent aff though in our European game certainly helps his burgoning legend status.

^I would think that players would have better things to do than log on here to defend themselves against 'fannies on the internet'. Better to let their football do the talking, which is what Slane has done so far this summer. Long let it continue. Why the hell anyone is criticising a 17 year old lad who has shown the most potential in a 'well top since faddy, is beyond me.
-
If a player is pish then maybe he needs to know about it! No point in sugar coating the issue. Until we lay waste to all before us and become perenial treble winners, I see no need for a 100% happy clappy board.
-
^If McGarry plays, then it's Gannon who should get the boo's!
-
To be honest I don't really rate Fitzy or DLS that much, but im not too worried when they appear on the field and at the moment I'de rather keep them as back up considering our squad size. McGarry on the other hand - punt him unless of course the tea lady is in danger of pulling her hamstrings or something. Maybe we can sell him back to St Mirren, thats about his level.
-
Aye, if you are a 15 year old girl
-
If we win 4-0, it won't be the last time we see the 'well in Europe for 20 years.
-
I read it that Muzz was hoping to keep it quiet, and trying to get that message over to Frazzle. Then he gave up and called him a fanny, for not keeping shtum??
-
Or option 3 - a couple of fannies posting on the internet??
-
Its what the kids call Tennents Lager, old yin. Watch it again though, he had the clear opportunity to whip that ball in, but takes it down, dilly dallys about and ends up running into the steaua player. Takes it off him, ball go's up the park, goal.
-
I dont agree with the McGarry part, because he is royally pish!! As for my earlier post, i didnt mean we should have been beating them, I actually think 3-0 away is a fairly respectable score against Steaua, and to be honest, Steaua were better than I expected. My main point was that from what I've seen of the new guys (keeper excluded) none of them have seemed like stand outs to me. And Humphreys in particular has shown nothing. Hopefully that changes though.
-
Ok, maybe i had too many TL's the night in daniels but...... Last week I thought Jennings had a quiet game and I wasn't that impressed with the boy Humphreys. Tonight i thought Jennings was average with the rest of the team, Humphreys was pish poor. Sorry, he was. In my opinion him trying to skin the boy rather than hurl that easy cross in first time led to the 2nd goal. Coke. Did he play? Was that him that blazed the rebound over after our big chance? I'll be interested to see them play when they are a bit up to speed with the rest of the squad. At the moment I am worried that the boss has underestimated Scottish football and thought a group of choppers from down south can cut it. The keeper was good though!
-
Youd have thought they could have done their research, we pumped dundee united the last few times wev played them, and conincidentally, our record win came against them.
-
15-20million euro's. We'll destroy you wih our team of galactico's.............
-
Surely not Bobby Jenks? The guys an institution.
-
I do think though that the young protege's like Slane and Forbes need to be put on longer contracts. Getting 100k for Slane now would be gross incompetance when he can be kept for a couple of seasons to shine in the team and command a hopefully Faddy like fee in a few years.
-
So folk like you could come on and have something to moan about too!
-
I think Weeyins spot on. What we did late June/early July with the firesale is going to be replicated across the other clubs sooner rather than later. We are in the enviable position of having dealt with it early and have the full close season to bring in the new boys. Having a manager who moves quick in the transfer market has also been key. I thought at the start of July we were really going to be up against it this season to avoid a relegation dog fight. With the manager, new signings and the talent of the youngsters Im quite optimistic. Whilst I dont expect us to romp to top of the diddy league, I think we could easily finish top 8 and out of any serious trouble. It will then give us a good platform for next season, unless of course celtic come in next season and take Gannon, Slane et all.

Its in the Aberdeen Evening Express that he's now demanding talks with Aberdeen directors about how much money he's getting to spend.
