Why do you think there was all the Boab hate on these boards all season
-
No chance O Neills coming back. He's onto something special down there with the way Randy Lerner is backing him at Villa. They'll be a top 4 side next season.
-
No letter for me, and none all season. I phoned them up last Thursday, the wee burd said it was due to problems with the new system last year. Re-checked my details and said she'd send me the letter out................... still no letter. Im going to go in and buy it over the counter before the game today.

Scottish cup defeat last season. The man was the worst player on the park. Saying that, he has improved significantly and I hope he gets to stay.

Are You Planing To Renew Your Season Ticket ?
Big Stall replied to East_Stand_Al's topic in Club Chat
Possibly not, but I certainly sign up to every new 'getting to know you well' initiative database we seem to have twice a season and haven't had anything through. Hopefully my letters waiting for me when I go home tonight. -

Still not had my letter. -
And if that was the reason then perhaps we should arrange B fixtures at a suitable time when all the relevant players who could concievably make a step up, are available to play. Im glad for Clarcky and all our players who have been called up, I just think the timeing and limitations on the squad shows Scottish football up for the farce it is. Additionally, its interesting that Burley won't be chosing anyone who's playing for the league or Europe at the weekend but is happy to take players who are in a real relegation battle. Cant say I'de be too happy if I was a Falkirk or ICT fan and one of their best players get cunted in a meaningless game.

Come on man, with only a couple of exceptions, how many players in bottom 6 teams are on the fringes of the national team??
-
It’s a good thing for DC well done, but lets be honest whats the point in it anyway?? Our A team is rank rotten, how bad is our B team going to be. And lets not forget that this is a significantly weakened B team as Burley hasn’t been allowed to pick players from the top 6 sides either.

I don't. I would much rather watch us go out playing silky football and coasting to third in the league than watch us roll our sleeves up and only be saved from relegation on a technicality. Given the choice of watching Arsenal or Bolton every week, there is no choice, both in terms of style and panache on the pitch and results! *But I do understand that sometimes it looks as though our mob can't be arsed. I just dont ever get any Butcher hero worship.

^Thats an easy one. He's got Big Castlemilk to play beside, and we all know he is a quality player!
-
I agree with both sentiments here, i.e well done DC and loyalty is rare in football, however I have to say that while Clarky may well have loyalties to us, I dont for one second believe he'd still be here if he was offered anything like the contracts given to Rossco and Porter in the championship. Loyalty is a good thing, but dont mistake it for not being good enough to make the step up. Before Im jumped on here, i am and always have been a DC fan, I just can't see him playing at a higher level than Motherwell, with the arguable exception of Scotland friendlies.

And yet, if you take McGhee at his word last week he noted that we have to have 5/7 players on the bench in each match, regardless of whether he has any intention of playing them or not. McGhee doesnt make the rules, he just has to play by them. As weeyin says, you are more than entitled to criticise McGhee, but the constant negativity you write is tiresome to say the least. As much as you like to blow your own trumpet, Im not really convinced your arguaments are very well thought out either.

^You do know that Melvin is really just the screen name for a very bitter Mo Malpas don't you?
-
Without the old firm we would very quickly lose our champions league places
-
My bird doesnt come to the football so the only letter to come through my door should be for me........... nane!
-
Big Stretch must be glad he wasn't really out for 9 months then.
-
Same for me.

Man for man our team when we finished 2nd and 3rd in the early 90's was better, but I don't remember the football being as good as it was last November/December when we were really in full flow. Saying that, that early 90's team nearly won the league. Would I preffer almost winning the league or fancy Scottish Brazil football? Theres really not a comparison is there.

Do you know for a fact that they have sent them out to every season ticket holder? Course you don't. I don't have mine, and I never recieved Boyles last letter about the pricing and bringing a friend either. I think it is pretty obvious that there is a problem somewhere along the line with addresses being stored. On the up side, good to read about the price freeze and cooper decision. Get the database fixed up, new contracts for shug, buzz and Klimpl and we will be dancing. (Next season)

Cheers, but you know what i meant. As much as Chesney is a fud and Walter is probably past it, at least they have accomplishments at their clubs and reasonable history at their previous ones. I would take McGhee over those 2 any day as well, but im sure some on here would beg to differ.

When you think about it, is there really another manager from the SPL 10 you would rather have at the 'well? Levien - spit the dummy and cry in the daily record whenever a team sets up defensive in front of you? His team has imploded after christmas 2 years in a row now Calderwood - would rather visit the tanning salon Jeffries - how much moaning can one guy do Mixu - Bawbag! Shabba - I dont know about him much to be honest Yoggi - do we really want to be a laughing stock? etc etc I'de take McGhee over any one of them, any day of the week.
-
Aye, but Melvin Bragg is a noted McGhee hater. Any opportunity to stick the boot in and he'll take it. Which I suppose is just as valid as any opportunity to kiss McGhees arse and others will take it. I really can't see how anyone can sensibly moan against McGhee. Taking Malpas's team which nearly got relegated, getting us into third place despite the pitch and the captain dieing. Then losing Rossco and now Porter and still having us in with a shout of top 6 this season. Maybe these achievments are not good for Rangers or Celtic, but the fact of the matter is that we are Motherwell. And considering where we were with Malpas, what McGhee has delivered since, (with everything that has went on) has been exceptional. I'll kiss his arse, and Melvin can stick his knife in. Fairs fair, Its all about opinions after all.

If Birmingham City offered any boss in the league outwith the Old firm the job, they'd snap the hand off for it. In fact, it is debateable as to whether Wee Chesney or Walter would stay in Glasgow rather than going for a top of the rung championship side in todays climate.
-
Would he take it? No idea. He does have history with Aberdeen. They would have a bigger budget than us, thats for sure but I can't see them being in any better position than us i.e they dont have the ability to split the old firm. The best he could get out of them in my opinion is the same as he can get with us - 3rd place and look for sucess in the cups. Its also that extra bit further away from his wife and wean isn't it........ maybe thats just my wishful thinking.
