  1. It’s a good thing for DC well done, but lets be honest whats the point in it anyway?? Our A team is rank rotten, how bad is our B team going to be. And lets not forget that this is a significantly weakened B team as Burley hasn’t been allowed to pick players from the top 6 sides either.
  2. I don't. I would much rather watch us go out playing silky football and coasting to third in the league than watch us roll our sleeves up and only be saved from relegation on a technicality. Given the choice of watching Arsenal or Bolton every week, there is no choice, both in terms of style and panache on the pitch and results! *But I do understand that sometimes it looks as though our mob can't be arsed. I just dont ever get any Butcher hero worship.

    Clarky - 250 Up!

^Thats an easy one. He's got Big Castlemilk to play beside, and we all know he is a quality player!

    Clarky - 250 Up!

I agree with both sentiments here, i.e well done DC and loyalty is rare in football, however I have to say that while Clarky may well have loyalties to us, I dont for one second believe he'd still be here if he was offered anything like the contracts given to Rossco and Porter in the championship. Loyalty is a good thing, but dont mistake it for not being good enough to make the step up. Before Im jumped on here, i am and always have been a DC fan, I just can't see him playing at a higher level than Motherwell, with the arguable exception of Scotland friendlies.
  5. And yet, if you take McGhee at his word last week he noted that we have to have 5/7 players on the bench in each match, regardless of whether he has any intention of playing them or not. McGhee doesnt make the rules, he just has to play by them. As weeyin says, you are more than entitled to criticise McGhee, but the constant negativity you write is tiresome to say the least. As much as you like to blow your own trumpet, Im not really convinced your arguaments are very well thought out either.
  6. ^You do know that Melvin is really just the screen name for a very bitter Mo Malpas don't you?
  7. Without the old firm we would very quickly lose our champions league places
  8. My bird doesnt come to the football so the only letter to come through my door should be for me........... nane!
  9. Big Stretch must be glad he wasn't really out for 9 months then.
  10. Man for man our team when we finished 2nd and 3rd in the early 90's was better, but I don't remember the football being as good as it was last November/December when we were really in full flow. Saying that, that early 90's team nearly won the league. Would I preffer almost winning the league or fancy Scottish Brazil football? Theres really not a comparison is there.
  11. Do you know for a fact that they have sent them out to every season ticket holder? Course you don't. I don't have mine, and I never recieved Boyles last letter about the pricing and bringing a friend either. I think it is pretty obvious that there is a problem somewhere along the line with addresses being stored. On the up side, good to read about the price freeze and cooper decision. Get the database fixed up, new contracts for shug, buzz and Klimpl and we will be dancing. (Next season)
  12. Cheers, but you know what i meant. As much as Chesney is a fud and Walter is probably past it, at least they have accomplishments at their clubs and reasonable history at their previous ones. I would take McGhee over those 2 any day as well, but im sure some on here would beg to differ.
  13. When you think about it, is there really another manager from the SPL 10 you would rather have at the 'well? Levien - spit the dummy and cry in the daily record whenever a team sets up defensive in front of you? His team has imploded after christmas 2 years in a row now Calderwood - would rather visit the tanning salon Jeffries - how much moaning can one guy do Mixu - Bawbag! Shabba - I dont know about him much to be honest Yoggi - do we really want to be a laughing stock? etc etc I'de take McGhee over any one of them, any day of the week.
  14. Aye, but Melvin Bragg is a noted McGhee hater. Any opportunity to stick the boot in and he'll take it. Which I suppose is just as valid as any opportunity to kiss McGhees arse and others will take it. I really can't see how anyone can sensibly moan against McGhee. Taking Malpas's team which nearly got relegated, getting us into third place despite the pitch and the captain dieing. Then losing Rossco and now Porter and still having us in with a shout of top 6 this season. Maybe these achievments are not good for Rangers or Celtic, but the fact of the matter is that we are Motherwell. And considering where we were with Malpas, what McGhee has delivered since, (with everything that has went on) has been exceptional. I'll kiss his arse, and Melvin can stick his knife in. Fairs fair, Its all about opinions after all.
  15. If Birmingham City offered any boss in the league outwith the Old firm the job, they'd snap the hand off for it. In fact, it is debateable as to whether Wee Chesney or Walter would stay in Glasgow rather than going for a top of the rung championship side in todays climate.
  16. Would he take it? No idea. He does have history with Aberdeen. They would have a bigger budget than us, thats for sure but I can't see them being in any better position than us i.e they dont have the ability to split the old firm. The best he could get out of them in my opinion is the same as he can get with us - 3rd place and look for sucess in the cups. Its also that extra bit further away from his wife and wean isn't it........ maybe thats just my wishful thinking.
  17. I think he forgets he's never had competition at Motherwell. If we had any decent back up keeper buzz would have spent reasonable spells on the sidelines over the last few years with some of the calamities he has produced. Saying that, he has improved. His kicking is so much better than last season, if he could fix his ability to deal with high balls into the box he'd be a very good keeper. I'de like him to stay but its not the end of the world if he buggers off.
  18. I thought Sheridan was gash yesterday! Ive thought a good few times he doesnt look like he'l put his head or his body where it hurts and really commit himself to the cause. I think that half hearted shot that allowed the united defender time to get back and clear it off the line was further evidence of it.
  19. If thats the case, i hope they do the deal quickly behind the scenes. No press coverage saying McGhee wants to buy him etc etc which is only going to alert others.
  20. 1st day of the season we just bought them at Tynecastle. No problems with it at all. Had to go in the offices for them but the wummin was sitting with plenty spares obviously returned by Motherwell.
  21. Exactly mate. It was only what 3 months ago we were sitting third and about to embark on a run of games against the diddy teams. We were all expecting to be cruising and yet we ended up losing most and going bottom of the league at christmas. This one game at a time philosophy is working better imo.
  22. Third may well be a bridge too far but its not out of the question yet. McGhee says a draw is worthless to us on Wednesday and we are going to Tynecastle looking for a win. Good enough for me. Hearts are what 9 in front of us, and we have to play them twice........ For what its worth, if we get through the united game with our unbeaten record in 2009 still intact, i think we are going to be looking good for 3rd or 4th. Get beat in the next two games though the heads go down and we may struggle to keep in the top 6!
  23. No. Atmosphere is not limited to back and forth shouts between sets of fans. If the entire Motherwell support sang their hearts out the full game there would be a quality atmosphere, even if no away fans were present! Shouting 'fuck you ya wank' etc etc to the away fans is fun, we all sat in the corner of the east stand and did it when we were 13, but it is not 'creating an atmosphere.' The team create the atmosphere. When Motherwell are fireing on all cylinders and pumping either one of the old firm, there is an atmosphere in fir park
  24. Did last season work out fair to everyone? If not celtic dont have a leg to stand on. If it was fair, then surely the fixtures should just be the same, but swap hibs for hearts? Anyway, its all academic. Because there is definatley no guarantees who is going to be in the top 6 this year. Celtic outrage though is always funny. Lets hope the Motherwell - Celtic game can be Helicopter Sunday part 2! My final point, top 6 games occur in April and May. It is warmer than 5 degrees in those months hence the grass grows. Pitch arguaments by then will be over and done with........
