    Hibernian

Best outfield player was law but my man of the match was randolph ,some superb saves.
  2. Yes Higdon did a good job but Law was the best player tonight for me. Murphy was poor.
  3. Enjoyed the game but the bottom line is that we lost the match, McCall put faith in the same players that played on Saturday and although it was a better display it was still a bad defeat to a team bottom of the league .We now have Aberdeen on Saturday in what is now a must win game .
  4. When it comes to the technical side of the game I'm not the most knowledgeable, systems, formations and the like are for others to debate .But i know when we play poorly and when a player is playing poorly ,on Saturday we played very poorly and some of the players not for the first time this season were sadly lacking ,3 players in particular come to mind Higdon,Humphrey and Lasley. McCall doesn't seem to want to change the team ,now if the team play tomorrow night in the same way as they did on Saturday would i be right in saying that McCall is much like myself, clueless when it comes to the technical side of the game.
  5. From the bbc.... Motherwell will remain unchanged for their Scottish Communities League Cup third-round clash with Hibernian. Boss Stuart McCall will give the same starting line-up the chance to make up for Saturday's 3-0 loss to Kilmarnock. Motherwell manager Stuart McCall: "There will be no knee-jerk reaction after one poor performance. "The lads have got us 13 points and a decent position in the league, so hopefully it was just a bad day at the office. "We had a little chat about the St Johnstone game this morning - I think we were all disappointed and angry, naturally. "Hibs have a lot of good individuals and attacking options but are going through a sticky spell. "But it wouldn't have mattered who we were playing tomorrow night, we are looking at ourselves - we will be positive, we want a good cup run again."
  6. There is a reason these guys are on the bench and it answers your question.
  7. If the team play as bad as they did on Saturday and lose the Hibs now SteelmenOnline will go into meltdown about 11 o'clock tomorrow night.
  8. That means the team is.... ,so ye can all stop guessing, in McCall we trust. 01 Randolph 03 Hammell 05 Craigan 22 Clancy 04 Law 06 Hateley 07 Humphrey 08 Jennings 14 Lasley 09 Higdon 11 Murphy
  9. I don't understand why everyone is so keen to have Page and or McHugh in the team. Both pish.
  10. And there is our biggest problem in a nutshell as far as i'm concerned .Nae squad depth.
  11. Thats why we support Motherwell.
  12. Fair point edited it ,i don't rate the guy though .
  13. You've got a good point but the reason I'm no to confident is that outwith the Inverness and Dunfermline games we've scores 2 goals in our other six games.
  14. Some like Higdon and Humphrey have been consistently bad though, was Higdon a panic signing when Sutton left ?lookin like it. And as someone said hes deceptively slow.
  15. Cant see us scoring so i have to go for a Hibs win .
  16. I had concerns before a ball was kicked this season dave about our lack of squad depth and mccall's tactics nothing has changed.

  17. Its the old quality or quantity debate Dave ,do we pay a wee bit more for quality players [Law,Jenno,] or do we bring in 4or5 squad players .When everything is going well and the squad is injury and suspension free the quality option is fine. But when injury strikes or players go of the boil your in trouble.
  18. For all we were bad i honestly thought st johnstone weren't that much better ,they packed there defence and made it difficult for us but as an attacking force they looked no better than us ,the 3 goals were if we are honest Motherwell blunders. The game was a complete bore from start to finish.
  19. Lawless, Smith and Pollock were all missing today.
  20. Humphrey, one of the worst Motherwell players ive ever seen.
  21. Tae go to Celtic park and create nothing you can to a certain extent understand that ,but to lose 0-3 to a St Johnstone side missing 3 or 4 first team regulars is inexcusable. The whole team with the exception of Law was rank rotten and Lasley ,Higdon ,Murphy and Humphrey were posted missing once again. It speaks volumes about our squad that players can play crap week in week out and still keep there place in the first eleven.
  22. From twitter......The U19s returned to winning ways with a 1-0 success over ICT at Bathgate. Hetherington, with the aid of a deflection, netted the only goal.
  23. SONS new boy Ross McKinnon hopes to make his mark at the Rock. As reported in last week's Sport Scene, McKinnon arrived at Dumbarton from Motherwell along with St Mirren stopper Dominic Kennedy. The defender agreed on an initial 28-day loan period but his stay at the club could be extended. And now McKinnon hopes to break into the first team but knows it won't be easy. He said: "I am looking forward to playing for Dumbarton. I am looking to get a place in the first team and get games under my belt. "I know I won't just walk into the team. I just want to get a run in the team. "It was between Alan Adamson and Gordon Young at Motherwell. "They had a meeting and said that Dumbarton would be a good club for me to go to." And McKinnon was in no doubt Dumbarton was the club for him after ex-Sons star Nicky Devlin, who joined the Steelmen at the end of last season, recommended it to him. He added: "The boys from Motherwell who have played at Dumbarton said it was a good club to go to. "Nicky Devlin said they were a good bunch of lads." Ross has followed in the footsteps of his uncle Rob McKinnon who plied his trade at the Well for four season and picked up three Scotland caps in his career, McKinnon revealed the left-back was a big inspiration for him. He added: "He was a big influence on me. I used to go and watch him training and I also watched videos of him playing as well. "It was good to have him as a role model and someone to look up to."
  24. Clarkson on loan from Bristol City Brentford have signed Bristol City striker David Clarkson on a one-month loan deal. The 26-year-old Scotland international began his career at Motherwell and scored 57 goals in all competitions in 251 appearances for the SPL club. He moved to Bristol City for an undisclosed fee in 2009 and has scored 11 times during his two-year spell. Clarkson will be available for Brentford's League One clash with Preston North End.
