Hartson says I know that Motherwell are looking for a new manager now that Craig Brown has left for Aberdeen. If John Boyle was to contact me that would really put the cat among the pigeons. A job in the top flight of Scottish football is something I'd obviously need to consider. The opportunity to manage Motherwell would turn my head. I don't know what Mr Boyle is thinking about as he begins his search for a new boss. But I'd bring commitment, passion and desire to the job. A commitment he's probably never seen before. I enjoyed a hugely successful playing career.

15 Dec 2010 Rangers great Stuart McCall has thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant Motherwell manager’s job. McCall has been out of work since parting company with former club Bradford City earlier this year and is currently doing scouting work for Norwich City. However, the former Scotland midfielder is keen to get back into management and would jump at the chance to return to this country to take charge of the Steelmen. Former Chelsea assistant boss Steve Clarke will NOT be taking over from Craig Brown at Fir Park. The ex-St Mirren player is on gardening leave after splitting from West Ham – where he was No.2 to Gianfranco Zola – in the summer and does not want to be considered

I would never say that Broon didn't do a good job for Motherwell ,but the teams style of play particularly at home on numerous occasions left a lot to be desired .When he said he was staying last week i was happy ,but when he left the next day i was still happy if that makes sense.

Second best in almost every department tonight so cant complain ,I wouldn't fault the effort of the players but some schoolboy defending and continually giving the ball away when we have possession is a recipe for disaster.Lasley was my man of the match and he scored a good goal.Oh aye and our poor home form continues.

I would imagine that most if not all interested parties will have made there interest known to the club by now and that over the next few days a shortlist will be drawn up. Interviews will then take place and I would expect a new gaffer in place sometime next week. Would certainly expect someone in place before the Rangers game on boxing day.

Former Motherwell skipper Chris McCart has emerged as a shock contender for the Fir Park managerial vacancy caused by Craig Brown’s departure to Aberdeen. McCart is currently head of youth at Celtic, but is understood to have growing support within the Fir Park board room. He skippered the Steelmen to Scottish Cup glory and in his role as youth chief with the Lanarkshire club was responsible for moulding current first-team stars Jamie Murphy, Mark Reynolds and Steven Saunders. It is believed that McCart’s name will be added to the shortlist due to be drawn up by chairman John Boyle over the next few days. However, the 43 year-old will face stiff competition for the Well managerial vacancy with ex-St Mirren gaffer Gus MacPherson, former Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood and one-time Chelsea No.2 Stevie Clarke all linked with the position. And it is understood that ex-Hibs manager John Collins, in tandem with Tommy Craig, is also in the frame..................................from Glasgow Evening Times

itl be under floodlights, the boys might be wearing the striped kit and hopefully we will rip the beleagured selling club that is murderwell a new one.......this line caught my eye from the link above ,only be my second league game this season lookin forward to it ,2-2 i think.

Did Gannon no try to claim compensation ,if so how did he get on ?
-
At this stage the most popular choices are Collins and Calderwood ,a good number want no one on the list and that's how I feel .When it comes to former or current players lack of experience is the problem, we need someone with a decent track record a bit of experience and some good contacts in the game .Calderwood fits the bill in all three but the idea of him or Collins even big Yogi as gaffer does nothing for me. Just put my trust in John Boyle .

Just for the record Hammerfist IS a Motherwell fan ,met him a few times and couldn't say a bad word against the guy.

That's 3 at least glad to see the back of boring Broon.

hey is that matt j [fatcalf] fishin ,could be a book in the pipeline.

10/10 for sticking up for Craig mate ,personally glad hes away but then I'm hard to please, at home watching Motherwell under Broon was like watching paint dry. Hope we get someone in who puts a bit of excitement back into watching the well. There is a fine line between ambition and recklessness e.g Dundee and a club like Motherwell who don't have the financial muscle other clubs have must live within there means. Thats not a lack of ambition its just common sense.

Craig and Archie paedophiles. Craig and Archie paedophiles.i.m.o This is what Boyle to his credit wants to avoid, hence asking for Aberdeen to wait till after next weeks game before the Judas bros take over at Pittodrie. Ain't gonna happen though Broon will be in charge, well fans will be seething, have a few beers before the game you know the rest.
-
Agree stupid idea ,and im sure most Well fans want us to go up and play them with Broon and Knox in charge. And stuff them.
